The Innkeeper - Chapter 2140 Cultivation Retreat

Chapter 2140 Cultivation Retreat
Lex sighed. Oh dear, even after ME, 13 of which he got for trading a Dao ingredient, there still seemed to be another currency. What even was the limit of the system? Honestly, he doubted it was much higher than what it could currently achieve because it already did things with laws that even Dao Lords could not do. But then he was reminded of the fact that the system was in a broken state.
Sometimes, Lex wondered what Mary’s previous identity was, and what she had done to raise the system to such a high level. Furthermore, he wondered how, after reaching such an unbelievably high point, she ended up in her current state.
But those were questions he couldn’t get answers to at the moment, so instead he focused on the present moment. For now, he’d ended his shopping spree. After spending over a trillion MT upgrading his realm, Lex paused not because he was done spending money, but because the Midnight Realm Management Panel was greyed out, meaning he could no longer select any upgrades.
He had likely hit the limit of what his system could currently handle. Lex scanned the Inn with his spirit sense one more time to make sure there was nothing that required his attention before teleporting over to the Valley of Time.
The valley was in its natural state, without any buildings or structures, and that’s how Lex intended on leaving it. He wanted to try cultivating out in nature for once, though he also didn’t want to miss out on the benefits the Meditation room could provide, regardless of however slight they were.
Thus, he set down a Meditation room in the heart of the valley, but changed its appearance. He removed the walls and ceiling, leaving only a single, grey tile which represented the floor of the Meditation room. The tile was just big enough that when Lex put the Gabane fruit on it, the tile became completely covered.
Lex nodded, took out the Innkeeper’s Scent Diffuser and put in dozens of Celestial grade treasures inside of it before closing his eyes. If Lex intended to take a proper retreat to cultivate, lasting for a long time, he might have even used Dao grade ingredients. While they were especially precious, Lex would not hesitate to use them to raise his own strength. However, based on how the flow of time went, he would only be cultivating for about a year or so. While that sounded like a long time, honestly it wasn’t – at least for a Heaven Immortal.
The only reason a single year might be moderately enough for Lex to increase his strength was due to the assistance of the Gabana fruit, the Meditation room, the Scent Diffuser, and lastly, his own unique cultivation technique.
All of these, when combined together, would make it so that even in this short period of time his gains would be sufficient.
Taking in the smell from the diffuser, and listening to the sound of the winds gently blowing through the valley trees, Lex closed his eyes and began his cultivation. Between his general cultivation, his attempts to increase his Dao Body percentage, his increase in Primordial aura, increasing his nephilim candidacy and cultivating the Back of Atlas technique, Lex would have his hands full.
Since he told Mary to let him know if something required his attention, he could stop focusing on monitoring his Inn all the time and dedicate all his focus on his cultivation session. He even weakened the flow of information he got from Jack, minimising it without shutting it off completely, to avoid distractions.
Mary would let him know to stop cultivating a few hours before Piere’s wedding, so he didn’t even need to worry about that. Thus, Lex lost himself in cultivation, acting for the first time like an actual cultivator.
Most Heaven Immortals often spend multiple years in a row for a single cultivation session, and more often than not, they end up having multiple sessions with minimal breaks in between.
The usual balance of comprehending laws was to spend sufficient time gaining experiences, and then spending a sufficient amount of time meditating and pondering over them – something Lex hardly ever needed to specially take time out to do.
During this cultivation session, Lex ended up utilizing all the Helios wisps inside his body, raising his Dao Body to an entire 25%. However, after that, it became increasingly difficult to raise the percentage. It would likely require him much longer than he currently had, so he diverted his attention elsewhere.
Using the Gabana fruit, Lex began to strengthen the Primordial aura he had begun to cultivate. That would not be the same as becoming a Primordial, but it was the closest he could get.
What he, or anyone else for that matter, had not realized was that as he simultaneously raised his Dao Body percentage, as well as his Primordial aura, he was setting the foundation to establish a Primordial Dao Body – something one step beyond a normal Dao Body. Even Eclipse herself had missed this little fact owing to the fact that, during the Primordial Age, no one had needed to cultivate a Primordial Dao Body. They were either Primordial Dao Lords, or they were just regular Primordials who were just strong enough that they didn’t need such a thing. Thus, she had never seen it, nor did she spend any time pondering if such a thing even existed.
Thus, the consequences of what Lex was doing were literally unknowable to anyone in the whole universe. Of course, for now, it brought him no real benefit, nor did it bring him any harm.
Eventually, when Lex felt he was at his peak state, he began to focus on the Back of Atlas technique. The technique was beyond complex, to the point where Lex could not even understand what he was actually doing. He was simply following the instructions of the technique.
Slowly and steadily, as the days turned into weeks, which turned into months,
the aura surrounding Lex strengthened, turning into something… frightening.
