The Innkeeper - Chapter 2151 An agent of the Midnight Inn

Chapter 2151 An agent of the Midnight Inn
The moment Lex disappeared from within the Midnight Inn, certain characters noticed. They had been waiting. They had been plotting.
“It’s done. He’s left the Midnight Inn,” said one, speaking to no one in particular. “It is time to send the message.”
The Midnight Inn was closed off, so communication between realms was not exactly possible at that exact moment. But those who had planned so meticulously, probing the security team of the Inn over the course of countless months and learning its detection limitations, had already prepared a failsafe in case their messages could not cross the boundary of the realm.
Suddenly, many of them began to die, while a few of them remained alive. They did not commit suicide, nor did they kill each other. They simply died, their souls extinguished entirely. Far away, in various realms, many soul lamps were extinguished, signifying the deaths of certain souls.
The combination of life and death of certain members perfectly translated into a message. A loophole in the Midnight Inns security had finally been discovered, and Lex Williams had been forced to leave the Inn.
Perhaps the reason why this ploy worked, while so many others failed, was because the target was not the Midnight Inn, but Lex Williams. Too many had their eyes on him, and too many had their own intentions against him.
As for the loophole, it was the most obvious one. There was no need to secretly manipulate, or coerce anyone. Simply orchestrating a real, genuine need would yield tangible results. For example, the interactions between Paul and his beloved were real, and not artificially influenced in any way, shape, or form. However, their coincidental meetings time and time again were not nearly as coincidental as either of them believed.
Of course, just making them meet could not magically make them fall in love, or cause any foreseeable reaction. That is why, this was merely one of many attempts. While the previous attempts had failed, this one had succeeded.
Thus, in silence, many forces began to move forward with their machinations. Yet what they all remained unaware of was the extent of Lex’s growth and self awareness.
The bead Lex gave Z appeared to remain just as Lex had given it to him, but in truth the bead had turned into a Karmic clone – a technique Lex had self created after studying his mothers cloning technique, and combining it with his increased understanding of karma.
The clone visited all those who had died, and after identifying each one, began to review all of Lex’s memories of each event that had occurred within the Inn for the past few years. His memory, in this regard, was akin to a security footage for his immortal mind could record far more than just this.
Lex identified each individual all of these dead individuals interacted with, and slowly mapped out a web of potential targets to keep an eye on. Lex was no longer as weak as he once was, and it was no longer so simple to target him. If others could conspire against him, then he too, could conspire in return.
The feedback from the karmic curse Lex had unleashed, targeting Damian as well as Sanguis Pluvia, had alerted him that he was once again in their sights. Since Sanguis Pluvia, with the help of HOA, had been able to fool even the Henali, then they should be brave enough to attempt to fool the Innkeeper as well.
This was Lex’s first time stepping onto the playing field between the top forces of the universe. Maybe they already anticipated that Lex might detect their motives, and planned accordingly. What did it matter whether he knew or not as long as he was forced to act as they wanted? Meanwhile, how could Lex believe that his minor actions targeting Damian could remain undetected by stronger forces?
The true depth of this plot went countless levels deep, and only in the end could the victor be determined. But Lex was confident. Since he had sealed his tenet, and learned how to use it sparingly, the extent of his Dao body, and his new technique Dao Intentions could not be detected.
Slowly and steadily, he was also becoming someone capable of touching the Dao.
Once he made sure everything was fine, and there was nothing amiss, the Karmic Clone once again returned to the state of being a Karmic Bead, returning to Z’s possession.
Within the Origin realm, Lex and Paul appeared on one of the Henali strongholds that had been connected to the Midnight Inn. Yet the planet did not have the usual peace and calm it did during Lex’s last visit. No, the planet was in a state of war, with countless enemy ships out in space targeting the planet.
The battle was ongoing with an unstoppable intensity and ferocity, yet even in such a situation, Lex’s abrupt arrival onto the planet did not go unnoticed. A team led by a single Celestial Immortal and a dozen Heaven Immortal suddenly surrounded him mere moments after his arrival, ready to attack at the slightest hint of a threat.
“You have illegally entered a restricted planet during war time!” said the Celestial Immortal, blaring his aura in full. “Immediately yield and subject yourself to-“
Lex ignored the Celestial Immortals suppression entirely, and merely glanced at him with his Domination held within his eyes, causing the Celestial Immortal to freeze out of fear. His Domination no longer just contained Dragons Might, but also his Primordial aura, his Nephilim aura as well as a hint of the aura of his Dao Body. That was not the kind of thing one could just ignore.
“I am Lex Williams of the Midnight Inn, an ally of the Henali,” Lex said calmly, his words just as much a declaration as they were an explanation. “I have come here on official Inn business. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience my sudden appearance may have caused. Please, enjoy this refreshing drink!” The Immortals were dumbfounded when Lex suddenly disappeared from right in front of them, his departure entirely undetectable. What’s more, once he left, they found themselves holding a mug of lemonade.
Within mere seconds, the information that a suspected agent of the Midnight Inn had entered the Origin realm spread amongst the higher ranks of the
Henali.
