The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1685: A Feral Savior (2)

Chapter 1685: A Feral Savior (2)
Princess Davina’s eyes burned at Rex’s monstrous transformation.
She took in all the changes in Rex’s appearance with her lips slightly parted.
Above, Rex’s manly face has now snouted like a beast and is decorated with sharp fangs that could rend meat and metal with no problem. His two curving horns made him look like a beast that crawled out of Hell, capable of scaring anyone who encountered him.
Moving down, Princess Davina’s eyes fixed on his fingers that had not turned to claws.
Anyone who caught sight of those black steel could feel the intense sharpness radiating from them.
Knowing instinctively that one swipe from those claws could end their lives.
And not to mention, his monstrous size.
Her fiancé, whom she had known for not that long, was already as big as he was, but now, his muscles swelled, overlapping onto one another to create this grotesque, violent form. Just the twitch and movement in his muscles every time he moved was hard to look at.
In this form, he could easily scare kids and even veteran adults who were accustomed to monsters.
“Rex…?”
Despite his drastic change, Princess Davina could recognize that this monster was Rex.
She could feel the familiarity from him.
Though his facial features were covered by fur and muscles, there’s a resemblance to Rex in them.
ROAR!!
Oblivious to what Princess Davina was feeling, Rex leaped straight at the incoming black pillars—his lethal claws swiped in blurs and shattered everything that got hit by them. He was confronting the scary and infamous Immortal Slugs, but a feral smile still crossed his lips.
Like he was happy doing what he was doing.
Despite what he had done along the way, his stamina was basically endless.
He was inexhaustible.
Despite the bind from the Immortal Slugs loosening, Princess Davina’s focus was fixated on Rex.
She didn’t even realize that the bind weakened.
’I’ve been scouring the world to become stronger. No area in the entire continent I have never stepped on, and I’ve never seen anyone who has a Demon Spirit form…’ Her eyes slowly widened by the second as she stared at Rex in a new light. ’Don’t tell me… Is this fate?’
…
“I’ve lived far longer than your father, and I’ve seen countless prodigies come and go, but none… none could match yours. All of those so-called prodigies looked second-rate before you. I dare say right now, your talent is unmatched underneath the sky.”
Princess Davina, notably younger and more naïve, was kneeling in respect.
Before her stood a radiant figure, a plasma of sunlight molded into the form of a woman.
The Divine Saintess.
“As long as you continue on learning and protect the empire, nothing will shine brighter than you.”
At those words, Duke Lorcan and his beautiful wife—whose features mirrored Princess Davian’s with a more mature look that made her more graceful, who stood a few paces behind the kneeling princess, looked at the scene before them with wide eyes.
In reflex, they exchanged a glance.
And in that fleeting exchange, an unmistakable gleam of excitement passed between them.
Both of them were happy and proud that their second daughter was recognized by the Divine Saintess.
So much so that the Divine Saintess, who was normally stingy with praising words, drowned her with compliments. It was clear that the House of Castillon was blessed for bearing such a talented daughter, and the future was brighter than any of them could imagine.
“I am pleased the Divine Saintess finds me promising.” Princess Davina bowed her head deeper.
It was such an honor to receive compliments from an entity like the Divine Saintess.
One who stood near to the realm of the highest.
“No need to be so polite—the empire rests under my protection, so all of you are my children. And for there to be a talent like yours, it truly pleases me.” The Divine Saintess turned, her gaze lifting toward the boundless weep of the golden sky. “But remember this: talent alone is nothing without diligence. Do not wander onto the path of arrogance, or you’ll be discarded and forgotten, as countless prodigies have before you.”
“After all, despite your outstanding talent, there are still those who truly have the right to be arrogant.” She added with a sombre, but final tone.
“I understand and will take those words to heart.” Princess Davina nodded with humility.
She knew that this was only her first step.
“And now, you must want to know your lover, right?” The Divine Saintess turned to look at Princess Davina once again, this time, her lips curled into a knowing smile. “All women who came to me for the first time always asked about that.”
“I… I’m not really interested in that.” Princess Davina smiled softly1but as her mother’s burning gaze fell on her, she quickly shook her head. “N-no, wait… forget I said that. Just… tell me—who is the one destined for me? Who is he? And when… when will I finally meet him?”
Hearing this, the Divine Saintess’ eyes shifted from golden to glowing blue.
Princess Davina lowered her gaze again, not daring to see her casting her divine power.
“No one in the entire continent, world, or even realm will be a suitable match—for you. No matter how hard you try, you will not find the one fated for you. He can only come to you. And he’s not someone… normal,” The Divine Saintess stated as she caressed Princess Davina’s head. “Don’t think about it. When the time comes, you will find him.”
Moments later.
Outside of the pristine white sanctuary, the family gathered once again.
Princess Davina looked to the side and found that her mother was crying.
“Mother, why are you crying?” She asked.
“Why else?” Princess Liliana pressed a finger on Princess Davina’s waist. “Mother is sad because she won’t get grandkids from you soon, of course. You should ask the Divine Saintess to help you find your man right now.”
“What are you saying, sister?” Princess Davina threw her face away. “I’m not settling down yet.”
“Settling down? Do you think a man who’s more exceptional than you would settle down?”
“Of course, why else would he marry me?”
“Heirs? Who says he wants to marry you? He could’ve impregnated you and left for all I say.”
“I will never let him do that…”
Princess Davina snorted as the only way to get her would be through marriage, nothing else.
But still, she was confused about something.
“If he’s not from our world, where will he come from?”
“Probably the Mortal Realm. I can’t fathom anyone from there who could match us, spirits, but if the Divine Saintess said so, then it must’ve been the case. But pray that he’s not from the Chaos Realm, or you’ll be in trouble. No… the Mortal Realm isn’t all sunshine either. If you find someone like Mirza… You’ll be in trouble too.”
“Mortal Realm, huh…?” Princess Davina looked at the horizon—as if she was looking at the future. “I wonder what he would be like.”
…
Boom!
Despite the ground rumbling like minor earthquakes and her energy being drained slowly, Princess Davina stared at Rex—in absolute shock. At this moment, everything suddenly clicked. As a noble, she knew much more than the commoners in this world.
That includes the other realms besides the Spirit Realm.
Back then, she was still naïve and uneducated.
Now, she knew about the Mortal Realm and even what lies within it.
Unlike the Spirit Realm, the Mortal Realm teemed with diversity, hosting countless races, and among the most fearsome were the Werewolves—beasts who drew strength from the moon, wielded unmatched physical might, and carried fury as their ever-faithful companion.
Most people in the Spirit Realm wouldn’t be able to recognize Rex’s form, but she did.
And at the moment of realization, her view of Rex changed.
A hot flush swept across her face, her cheeks burning a deep crimson.
Rex’s beastly snout, which made him look beastly, was no longer grotesque in Princess Davina’s eyes.
It became regal.
His very sharp fangs that decorated his maw, capable of rending meat and metal alike, gleamed like the polished edge of a knight’s blade, symbols of protection rather than destruction. His two curving horns, once marks of something infernal, now seemed like a crown forged in gold and gems.
Rather than making him look more monstrous, the horns gave him the bearing of a conqueror.
A noble warrior who stood in the light, more gallant than any knight cloaked in steel.
Rex’s fingers that had turned into claws, black obsidian blades that radiated a dangerous grace, now no longer promised death in Princess Davina’s eyes, but the strength to shield her from it. Her instincts, the only sane part of her, whispered that the claws could end lives with a single swipe.
But her heart chose to believe they existed only to guard hers.
Princess Davina pressed a hand against her chestplate, as if to steady the wild flutter of her heart, each beat echoing like a desperate confession only she could hear. She even finds herself holding her breath as she watches Rex fight against the Immortal Slugs fiercely.
Destiny had slapped her at the most unexpected time.
And now, even Rex’s bloodlust had become a radiant red that her heart found beautiful and pleasing.
’Ah, I told him to pretend to be my fiancé—didn’t I?’ She scuffed her hair in regret, not expecting Rex to be the one whom the Divine Saintess was talking about—the man she was fated to be with. ’Now what am I going to do?’
On the other hand, Rex was completely oblivious to the change happening to Princess Davina.
He looked up and saw countless black pillars coming straight at him like a meteor shower.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Rex surrendered himself wholly to his instincts, his body a blur of motion as he slashed, parried, and twisted away from strikes that came too close for comfort. Every move was raw precision—feral, unrestrained, yet impossibly sharp.
It was as if his body and mind were one.
The Immortal Slugs retaliated viciously; the black pillars burrowed into the earth, only to erupt again in a storm of sharp spikes that filled the battlefield like a thousand spears. But even then, Rex moved as though he had already seen it all before.
His instincts screamed, and his body obeyed without hesitation.
Hands and body flowed in perfect synchrony, claws gleaming as they battled away spike after spike as his frame contorted at impossible angles to slip between death itself. The air whistled with the speed of his deflections, each strike sparking like steel against stone.
Some spikes managed to pierce through, stabbing his flesh, but he didn’t need to worry about them.
Nothing his regeneration couldn’t handle.
More than that, the pain only fueled him further.
He was a one-man army, unshakable—his relentless assault drew every eye in the dome. The nobles could scarcely believe it—what stood before them was no longer a man, but a machine of destruction, driven by sheer instinct and monstrous willpower.
And yet, amid the chaos, Rex was smiling.
The time above the nobles ticked past five minutes.
Each one was increasing rapidly, and his chest surged with elation.
It was working exactly as he intended.
By taunting the Immortal Slugs and drawing their attention to himself, he had loosened the noose around the others. The suffocating suppression weakened, and in the corner of his eye, Rex caught sight of the noble who had been closest to death moments before.
His breathing steadied.
And now, the energy Marquess Darius gave to him has become more effective.
Rex’s gamble had paid off—his bloodlust was the beacon, and the monsters had answered.
On the other hand, Althea looked ahead like every other noble.
She couldn’t believe that their savior would be Rex.
’Father, and even the other strong ones, unleashed their Law powers to hold back the Immortal Slugs—yet none of them stirred much of a reaction.’ She swallowed hard, eyes fixed on Rex as he blitzed left, right, up, and down—in a storm of motion. ’But his killing intent… it alone was enough to make the Immortal Slugs falter. They actually see him as dangerous? How could that be possible?’
Regardless of that, there was no time for her to linger in silence.
“Rex!” She screamed. “Save me first!”
