The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1696: Going Smoothly

Chapter 1696: Going Smoothly
Mortal Realm, central plain of the Scarlet Banes Kingdom.
It was going smoothly.
Evelyn and her great army were pushing back the enemies with shocking speed.
Even though the Scarlet Banes Kingdom was vast, filled with many mountain ranges and dark forests, the land was devoured quickly by the usurpers. Some fortifications were assembled, but under the fast and unrelenting march, there was simply no time.
Once Imla City and the fortress under construction behind it were destroyed, nothing stood in their way.
Evelyn’s triumph over almost a dozen Alpha Primes forced the remaining Alpha Primes to retreat back to their cities, bunkering themselves and preparingfor being besieged. Hoping that soon, Princess Selene would give her instructions.
But with each passing hour, the Scarlet Banes Kingdom’s forces worsened.
Alpha Primes from Evelyn’s side coaxed the loyal Alpha Primes one by one.
As their morale plummeted further the temptationto change sides increased to an unbearable level.
And with it, Evelyn’s great army grew.
Each conquered city adds more to the great army while simultaneously thinning the loyalist side.
It almost felt like the Clarentium Empire’s triumph was inevitable.
“I, Ruby of the Red Pack, surrendered and pledged my fealty to the empress.”
Another Alpha Prime surrendered to Evelyn in public, marking another city claimed by the great army.
Growls and cheers trembled the air.
Humans mingled with Orcs, Tigermen, Elves, Dwarves, and Werewolves could be seen around, creating a painting that the world has almost forgotten. A peaceful time where Humans and Supernaturals accepted each other.
Evelyn’s lips curled into a genuine smile.
She watched as the world Rex was trying to create started to form and couldn’t help but feel emotional.
All of them had come a long way.
Maintaining her grace, Evelyn approached and placed her hand on Ruby’s shoulder gently.
“I accept your fealty,” She answered before turning around to leave.
People shout praises at her as she heads back to where Gistella was, behind the army, inside a lavish carriage marked with the Clarentium Empire’s flag. She kept a polite smile, acknowledging the soldiers around for their hard work.
Even though these soldiers put their lives on the line, her smile was enough of a reward for them.
Somehow, her smile made it all worth it.
[Good, you’re starting to get the hang of it. Your Luna Mark isn’t only a mark.]
’Yes… I can see the effect already.’
Under the tutorship of the entity inside the moon earrings, Evelyn had seen much progress than normal.
Having a teacher made that much impact.
Just like the King Mark, which is the symbol of status and power, granting Werewolves associated power from the full moons, the Luna Mark is also similar. It didn’t grant power associated with the full moons—but it could give her power reserved for only chosen Lunas.
One being the Scent of Innocence.
Normally, her scent would be fragrant to other races and attractive to other Werewolves and mutated animals. Now, her scent alone would also incite the urge to protect her at all costs from everyone, mainly from the opposite gender.
Seeing how a simple smile from her raised the soldiers’ morale, it was obvious that it was working.
Luna Mark grants other things, but this was the first and most accessible skill.
And since she’s the Luna of the Royal Black Prince, the effect was multiple times stronger.
Reaching back to the carriage, Evelyn took a seat and looked out the window.
“Are you sure it’s right to let Kyran go back?” Gistella, who was sitting across, asked.
Upon learning that once again, Naela got hurt even though she was supposed to be in a safe place, Kyran decided to go back. He didn’t ask for permission from Evelyn. He simply sprinted back, leaving behind the great army.
Evelyn didn’t stop him, and Gistella felt like that was a mistake.
“I can feel it, though barely… Rex is fighting non-stop up there. If I’m not mistaken, he’s going to come back tomorrow,” Gistella leaned forward, worry on her countenance. “With the number of Alpha Primes on our side, coaxing the remaining ones is not a problem. But without Kyran, it’s not going as fast as before.”
“At this rate, Rex is going to come back first.” She added.
Before starting their invasion, Evelyn had already explained her goals.
Conquering the Scarlet Banes Kingdom would be their gift to Rex, and also a statement that they were no longer a burden, but rather, people who could stand by him. And with the Silverstar Pack’s reputation increasing, it would also assure him that they were safer now.
Kyran did give an insight as to what was going on inside Rex’s head, and she made sure to listen.
However, without Kyran, their advancement slowed considerably.
Still fast for those watching from the sidelines, but not as fast as before.
“It wouldn’t matter if Kyran is here,” Evelyn answered, resting her chin on the back of her hand. “His mind is thoroughly occupied with Naela’s condition. If I forced him to stay, he wouldn’t be as effective as before. He’ll only become a problem then.”
Kyran gave her the respect she deserved as the Luna in Imla City.
There was much more reason for her to let this go.
“Still…” Gistella leaned back and rested her head. “He’s unstable. Gelmar and Vivian are sent to keep him company, but I’m still worried that he might go berserk the moment he sees Naela. Nobody there could stop him.”
“Don’t worry. He snapped out of the Blood Moon’s influence, so he should be fine.” Evelyn shrugged.
“Hmm… I hope nothing bad happens.”
“Kyran is more mature now. He knows better.”
Even though Evelyn said that, there’s a trace of worry behind her composure.
One that Gistella didn’t realize.
’Though Kyran most likely wouldn’t ransack the Dark Elf Kingdom—and create more trouble for us, I worry that he wouldn’t accept Vivian’s conclusion,’ Evelyn thought, exhaling roughly through her nose to ease her nerves. ’He might still blame the Angels.’
Based on Vivian, this Richard is aiming to push the empire towards the Angels.
His aim was to make Kyran blame the Angels for hurting Naela.
From the start, Naela being attacked by an Angel was already an anomaly, as the Angels were really far away from the Dark Elf Kingdom. In fact, the Dark Elf Kingdom is probably the furthest away from their heaven.
So, encountering a random Angel nearby is too much of an anomaly.
Even the captured traitor Angels reached nearby because they were searching for something.
As for the Angels who served Void, they were focused on establishing their foothold in this continent.
If Kyran was rational enough, he could see that this was a setup.
But Vivian admitted she had no concrete evidence—the Dark Elves who claimed to have seen Richard could offer only their words, not proof. On the other hand, the traces Richard left behind to make it— seemed like it was an Angel’s work was glaring.
And that… Evelyn wasn’t sure Kyran could accept.
Evelyn massaged her forehead as the carriage moved again, following the great army around the city.
“Flunra is not available, so that leaves us with Adhara… I think it’s time we call Adhara.” She muttered.
Now that Kyran was no longer in the fold, there’s nobody else better suited to take on his role—other than Adhara, the Female Alpha. She could easily bulldoze the stubborn cities and make their march way faster than it was right now.
“I already sent someone to fetch her,” Gistella answered, slightly hesitant.
“Hmm,” Evelyn raised a brow. “You did?”
“Kyran is not here, so I make the initiative to call Ahara back.”
As time was of the essence, Gistella made bold initiatives.
Evelyn was occupied in leading the march, so she should be the one to take care of the other things.
A few Werewolves are keeping a watch over her position, so finding her was not a problem.
Gistella observed Evelyn’s expression since as of late, she had been growing scarier and scarier. Even though she was doing this because of Rex’s absence, her attitude made Gistella nervous whenever she was around.
Especially when she watched how Evelyn handled Kyran in Imla City.
Or how Evelyn handled the Alpha Prime in that cave.
Gistella had been on edge because of her, fearing that she would say something wrong.
For a moment, the silence stretched as Evelyn looked at Gistella calmly.
Then, she cracked a smile, “Good thinking.”
“Phew…” Gistella wiped her sweat as she could finally release the breath she was holding.
Seeing this, Evelyn let out a chuckle.
“Why are you acting like that?”
“You’ve been scary lately! It’s normal to see Rex like that, but you?”
“I’m not that much different. I’m only acting like that when there are eyes on us.”
“Still… It’s making me nervous.”
Both of them savored the moment where they could breathe easily with a small banter, easing the tension that weighed on their shoulders constantly in the last couple of days. Even now, a moment later, they’re going to be back to their serious mode again.
It was tiresome, but for Rex, there’s nothing they wouldn’t do.
“Good thing Sven is nowhere to be seen,” Gistella mumbled, looking up to the golden sky. “Adhara must be doing her best to distract him. I hope we got lucky—and she’s not anywhere near Sven, though. That thing is an abomination.”
Gistella only knew Adhara’s location, not what she was doing.
But with the turmoil in their connection, it was hopeful thinking that they were only lucky.
“Oh, she’s dealing with Sven, alright…” Evelyn said with a knowing smirk.
Her connection with the other pack members was stronger, and her Purple Regalia Bloodline gave her even the same privilege that Rex has by allowing her to check on Adhara through telepathy or even a shared vision, so she knew for a fact that Adhara was dealing with Sven.
“In fact,” She continued, smiling. “She has been fighting nonstop these past few days. I thought I was only imagining it at first, but I’m not. I’ve seen what she was going through. But considering her fierce bloodline, I suppose going head-on against Sven is entirely possible.”
…
CRASH!
The summit of the mountain shattered like brittle glass as a figure tore through it.
The explosion of force sent molten rock and debris flying in every direction, and the impact that came right after split the earth below—the mountain itself groaned, and its peak collapsed into a thunderous roar that echoed across the barren horizon.
Soon came the crash.
A figure slammed into the ground with such ferocity that the surrounding bedrock fractured like paper.
Even the entire mountain trembled, quaking under the sheer weight of the figure’s arrival—not that it mattered since there was nothing living for miles, only the silence of an empty, forsaken world. A light groan escaped the figure’s mouth.
Once the dust cleared, it revealed that the figure was a Werewolf with pure white fur.
A female, judging by her curves, but not anyway less intimidating than others.
Just then, another figure appeared, landing with a thunderous crack upon the jagged rim of the shattered summit—a Werewolf as well, his fur a pale gray that gleamed like tempered steel beneath the molten light. Behind him, lava splashed and hissed, casting his towering silhouette in hues of gold and crimson fire.
His appearance was more menacing, beastly, and his chest rose and fell with unrestrained fury.
Each breath he took vibrated through the ground like a thunderclap.
An Ancient Werewolf—majestic, terrifying, and utterly enraged.
Even its presence alone warped the air, bending it—so crushingly that the space around him seemed to be distorted, like the world was rejecting his existence. Most Werewolves would recognize this one by now—Sven.
Seeing this, the female Werewolf climbed to her feet.
Adhara stood at the center of the crater, looking at the menacing Sven with excitement, not fear.
She came here to stall him, but who would’ve thought it ended up this way?
“Come on, aren’t you supposedly the bastard son of the Origin? Why are you struggling to take out a mere Female Alpha?” She raised her hand—and taunted. “Fight me some more! Show me how strong you are!”
