The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1699: Be Mindful of Your Words

Chapter 1699: Be Mindful of Your Words
’I think I went overboard…’
Adhara was now running.
She came here to stall Sven and make sure no other Werewolves from Princess Selene’s side approached him, but she lost her mind for a moment there. Desperate to become stronger, the desire to copy Sven’s skill sparked her anger.
Not anger directed at Sven, but anger at herself.
Fortunately, she managed to overcome that anger through her success.
But the trouble isn’t finished.
Adhara poked and messed with the wolf’s den, so naturally, the Alpha living inside is coming for her.
Slash!
BOOM!
Adhara narrowly avoided a slash and rolled across the ground.
She looked back and gasped.
“He’s way stronger than before…”
Sven’s attack sent violent moonlight shockwaves that peeled the ground and shattered the trees that were caught in the crossfire in a straight line stretched for a mile. Its devastation mirrored a cannon beam of energy fired by a ninth-rank Awakened’s Pneuma Spell.
Clearly, he had taken it up a notch.
Even though the increase in strength was ridiculous, Adhara wasn’t deterred.
’The Lunar Devourer Moon Ability had been transformed into the Devouring Flame Body,’ She thought as her more lustrous purplish furs flared with unrelenting mana and spirit energy. ’It doubles the potency of my flames and even gives devouring properties. I’m way stronger than before.’
Swoosh!
Adhara’s eyes widened when a figure appeared behind her like a phantom.
She glanced over her shoulder in surprise and saw that Sven was already upon her.
’But this thing… Compared to the Werewolf royals, why is the difference in strength so stark?’
BAM!
Instinctively, Adhara raised her arms and flared her flames to block the swipe, but the force that struck her was beyond her comprehension. Blood exploded from her mouth as the bones in her arms and chest shattered.
Adhara was hurled like a rag doll.
Her regeneration was working non-stop to repair the damage, but it was getting slower.
Crash!
Upon stopping, Adhara pushed herself from the ground.
’He’s not mad about me pestering him… He’s mad because I copied that Moon Ability,’ Adhara wiped the blood from her lips, her eyes narrowing. ’Could it be some sacred Moon Ability passed down to him by the Werewolf Origin? Otherwise, why would he be this worked up?’
She exhaled lightly and looked to where the heat was coming from.
’Should I cancel the Devouring Flame Body? Maybe that’ll calm him do—’
“L-Lady Adhara…?”
Adhara’s eyes widened when she heard someone call her name.
She snapped her gaze to the other side and was startled to see a group of ten Elves in armor.
Just one look at them made it obvious that these Elves were from the great army.
“Wha… What are you do—?” Adhara shook her head—and climbed to her feet. “Get out of here! Did you not know why I’m here?!”
Hearing this, the female elven warrior with long green hair who was standing at the vanguard paused.
Slash!
Her eyes widened completely as a breeze brushed against her side, and then something sticky and warm splattered onto her face. As her hair fluttered, the female elven warrior glanced over her shoulder and came to realize that her entire group was wiped out with a single strike.
And now, a ten-foot towering shadow loomed behind her.
Its murderous, glowing eyes looked down at her as if she were some sort of insect.
“I-Intan…” another elven warrior who had half his body torn to shreds called desperately, whimpering in pain as tears rolled down his face, as Sven grabbed him from the ground like he weighed nothing. “Run…”
Ruthlessly, Sven bit off his head with a sickening crunch.
Blood poured out of its sharp canines as he savored the meal that came to him voluntarily.
Seeing this, Adhara gritted her teeth and grabbed her and ran.
“What the heck are you thinking?!” Adhara growled, finding these Elves to be incredibly stupid to come near this place. “No matter the reason, Sven is a pseudo-tenth rank realm and is also the bastard son of the Werewolf Origin. Do you think you can come here willy-nilly?”
“E-Eh…?” Intan blinked and snapped out of her daze. “Lady Gistella sent us here. She wanted us to tell you to come back.”
“Come back?” Adhara frowned as she kept running. “What happened?”
“Lord Kyran lost control—and went berserk. Even Her Majesty needed to be involved directly to calm him down. Half a day earlier, I saw Lord Kyran departing, so he’s not going to participate in the battle. The Great Army’s advance continues as planned, and the clash with Princess Selene is imminent. Lady Gistella wanted you to fulfil Kyran’s shoes.”
“I see…”
Adhara felt it earlier, too, that the rage in Kyran was reaching the boiling point.
She wasn’t surprised to hear the news that he went berserk.
’But for Kyran to go back suddenly when he’s supposed to be staying by Evelyn’s side, something must’ve happened to Naela,’ Adhara bit her lower lip, sensing ominosity lingering in the air. ’Naela got hurt by an Angel not too long ago, and now she’s attacked again? Why is she being targeted? Something doesn’t add up.’
“Lady Adhara, what should we do?” Intan asked, seeing that Sven was rapidly approaching behind.
Just the sight of Sven running on all fours struck fear into her.
Adhara glanced over her shoulder and gritted her teeth, “We can’t fight him, and we have to go back as soon as possible. No other choice… We’ll have to find a suitable opponent for him.”
Swoosh!
…
Surprisingly enough, in the frontline, the Great Army faced barely any resistance.
All cities along the way resisted their advance, but none could prove to be able to withstand even half an hour of relentless attacks from the Great Army. Shamans tried protecting the cities with their abilities, but none succeeded.
Mediocre, but fierce Werewolves charged with relentless fervor—but all were killed.
Even the Alpha Primes either died in battle or surrendered.
Soldiers of the Great Army cheered, singing praises for the Clarentium Empire and Empress Evelyn.
Victory was approaching rapidly.
Initially, there are many soldiers who doubted Empress Evelyn’s vision to conquer the Scarlet Banes Kingdom in a few days. Though Prince Alaric was on their side, providing local Werewolves from each area to help navigate the terrain, and also providing fearsome assault packs to scout ahead, conquering a kingdom that fast seemed impossible.
And up until early this morning, that thought still lingered despite the triumph after triumph.
But as they pierced deeper toward Princess Selene’s known whereabouts, the resistance grew weaker.
Now, the Great Army was advancing at full force without anyone stopping them.
Because of that, the soldiers were already cheering and laughing.
It seemed the loyal forces aren’t as strong now, with only Princess Selene and the very top.
Only one among them kept her reserves.
Evelyn at the horizon with a sharp gaze, feeling the complete opposite of what the Great Army was feeling. ’It’s too easy, way too easy…’ Evelyn frowned, sensing something was off. ’Princess Selene is not without experience of war. In fact, she must be more experienced than me. Even with the dwindling hope of winning, she wouldn’t leave her forces scattered like this.’
A small force would only be devoured by the Great Army.
Naturally, Princess Selene would’ve rallied her remaining forces to make one final all-out clash.
Or perhaps she would’ve done skirmishes to lower the Great Army’s number.
Every Supernatural race knew well how terrifying Werewolves became under the cover of night—their unmatched prowess in close-quarters combat, beastlike speed that defied logic, and senses so sharp they could detect enemies long before they drew near.
When instincts took over, reason vanished, leaving only the pure, primal fury of the hunt.
And that made the Werewolves exceptional pawns for skirmishes.
Dealing as much damage and escaping unharmed are both tasks the Werewolves excelled in.
On the other hand, the Great Army comprised multiple races.
In direct confrontation, the Great Army’s strength lay in its flawless versatility due to its varying races, with each race assigned a specific role that they were proficient in. Dwarves will use their durability and beasts to cover the flanks. Orcs, Tigermen—and Werewolves at the vanguard for their brute force and domineering combat proficiencies.
And on the rear were Humans and Elves, both proficient in ranged attacks.
But, with well-timed attacks, Princess Selene’s forces could bite pieces from the Great Army.
And yet, Princess Selene did none of them.
It surely bothered Evelyn that this assault was going too smoothly.
Against an overwhelming force like the Great Army, it wasn’t completely hopeless for Princess Selene.
However, she acted like she was hopeless.
“She’s leading us to a kill zone,” Evelyn muttered whisperingly.
“You’re quite sharp, Your Majesty,” Sintra smiled. “I expected nothing from a young Luna, but you’re decent.”
Evelyn sharply glanced at Sintra sitting beside her.
“How long have you realized it?”
“Hmm, faster than you, that’s for certain.”
“And why didn’t you inform me?”
Leading the Great Army and managing their expectations are still new things for Evelyn.
She has never done something of this scale, and her focus was still scattered—everywhere, so she was late to realize what was really going on. However, Sintra was a well-known Shaman, and she was sent here to assist.
For her not to say anything is infuriating.
“I am loyal to Prince Alaric. He’s the one who really tried to keep our race afloat, and I am here by his decree to assist you,” Sintra cackled, leaning back on her seat. “But that doesn’t mean I’m fully on your side, the Luna of a false Royal Alpha.”
Gistella bared her fangs when she heard this.
“Mind your words, Shaman,” She warned icily. “In case you forgot, the survival of your race is at stake.”
Before things could escalate, Evelyn raised her hand, signaling Gistella to stop.
No use in arguing with Sintra.
“I never once thought of relying on you or Prince Alaric’s forces either way, so it doesn’t matter if you are not fully on my side,” Evelyn looked down, intertwining her fingers gracefully. “But I hope you are mindful of your words. Everything you uttered has consequences.”
“Hmm?” Sintra raised a brow, still relaxed. “I’m too old to be influenced by threats, Your Majesty.”
Just then, she sensed a change in the air.
She could feel it through her senses—the scent of blood in the air.
Evelyn slowly turned to look at Sintra again, her eyes wide and murderous.
“I’m not usually this uptight, but I’m not only the Luna right now. I represented the Alpha, too,” Evelyn said whisperingly, dragging each word longer, increasing the tension in the air. “He will never tolerate any disrespect to me, and I will also never tolerate disrespect to him. Bear in mind, Sintra… By the time this conquest ends, if you cannot amend your sharp tongue, I will have Prince Alaric pay the price for you.”
Sintra sweated a little, not expecting a fierce reaction in return.
As for Evelyn, she looked at the horizon again, ’I have the Great Army, Adhara, and Caraptaros, which made us basically immortal. Princess Selene… I’ll bite your bait. Let’s see what you have prepared for us.’
…
Meanwhile, in the Spirit Realm.
Hours had passed since the Desolate Zone vanished.
Inside the immortal black goo, within that writhing mass of immortality, a monstrous figure struggled violently—clawing, biting, hacking at the encroaching dark. Each motion was savage, driven by sheer will, refusing to yield to the endless tide.
From within the abyss, two crimson eyes blazed, alive with fury and exhilaration.
With each wound he suffered, his grin only widened, baring bloodstained fangs.
His veins pulsed with something feral, something that refused to die.
In his vision, notifications appeared constantly.
One after another, glowing lines of text burned across his vision.
Each chime from the System only deepened his madness, feeding the beast within—and the more they appeared, the more feral this figure became. His strikes grew heavier, his laughter echoed louder, and his anger burned hotter.
It started as a bad predicament earlier.
Now, the moment became a blessing in disguise.
And Rex…Rex was enjoying every second of this moment.
“I’ll reach the next realm at this rate, HAHAHA~!”
