The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1779: Forbidden Mantra

Chapter 1779: Forbidden Mantra
Rex stood up and turned away from Nivellen.
He had stayed in the Banished Realm for more than fifteen minutes, and it was time for him to return.
It would be a lot different if his work were done, but it’s not.
Since his soul was now being repaired due to the inherent healing power of an Archangel’s blood—the threshold from being in the Spirit Realm as a visitor has regressed. Rex doesn’t need to think about the time limit anymore.
Even though he was confident he could finish things before the time limit was up, additional time is never a bad thing.
Now, there’s only one thing he needs to do—rescue Devo.
And frankly, he wasn’t sure if getting the Phoenix Feather was harder than rescuing Devo.
Kaelthar has given him the location of where Devo was, but reaching the Sky City is the main problem.
Compared to Stelios, the Sky City is certainly much stronger.
It was basically impossible for Rex to enter the Sky City with brute force; there’s simply no chance.
Since the Sky City stood even above all the kingdoms and empires across the entire Spirit Realm, their power must be immense. Perhaps, the people in the Skilian Divine Court are all at the Primordial Spirit rank.
A rank that was unreachable in near-time.
That’s akin to reaching the eleventh or even the twelfth rank in a few days.
Rex either needed help.
Perhaps something extremely drastic, one that would be outright unthinkable.
Or something that he would not do normally.
“Do you need my help for anything?” Nivellen asked from behind, noticing his troubled expression.
“Have you recovered your strength?” Rex glanced over his shoulder. “Can I use your power again?”
“Fully? No, it takes time. But it’s nothing you should be concerned about,” She answered with certainty. That cure Rex gave was basically rebirth her from nothing, and she felt young and pure again. “Nothing you use will exhaust my power.”
That was good to know.
Rex had been neglecting the Mask of the Banished Eclipse; it was still at the High Spirit rank.
It was especially devastating not to use it since it also contained the Minor Law of Foresight—one that’d help him a lot. Now that Nivellen has recovered from Chaos Corruption, there’s no more reason for him to neglect it.
“The Banished Realm restricts me from doing big things as Kaiser did, but I can still tamper with the Spirit Realm,” Nivellen continued, assuring Rex—that she’s more than capable of helping him, as well as willing to go to any lengths. “Speak your mind, and I’ll do my best to help.”
“No,” Rex shook his head. “Not at the moment. For now, keep an eye on whether Kaiser is tampering with the realm again.”
Using the help of a Goddess sounds tempting, but Rex would rather not.
Nivellen is one of his trump cards, and there’s no reason to use her power before he tries on his own.
Not to mention, doing so would only draw unnecessary attention in the divinity.
It would be bad enough if the Lunirich Gods band together and scheme against him again, but it would be a lot worse if another deity took notice. Rex has his hands full already, and he doesn’t need the attention of other deities on his back.
Keeping the situation stable is better.
At least now, the worst possible scenario is always Kaiser intervening like earlier.
As long as Nivellen could keep an eye out for that and inform him whenever there was a change, that’s more than enough help. “Can you do that?” He asked firmly. “Can you keep an eye on Kaiser’s moves for me?”
“Yes, my power and his came from the same source. I can do that.” Nivellen smiled.
Just as Rex was about to leave, he stopped.
His mind replayed the moment when he almost got taken out by Empress Morgana and also when that Voidal Lord attacked earlier. Even though he would normally be able to take those hits, he needed one thing that he could use when he’s tired.
Death is not that scary for him, but the death of others is scary to him.
He needs to have something in case there’s no lucky aid for him.
And Nivellen might be able to help with that.
“Say…” Rex glanced over his shoulder again. “You said you can tamper with minor things, right?”
“Yes, I can.”
“What about fuelling my body with your power to make me stronger?”
“That Soul Artifact can do the same thing. If you’re asking besides the Soul Artifact, or King Mark…” She paused for a second—really thinking about her answer. “There is a mantra that could do that. One that would fuse me and you for a moment, temporarily boosting your power significantly.”
“Really?” Rex pivoted his body more. “What is the man—”
“No, absolutely not,” Nivellen cut his sentence short sternly. “I will never tell you the mantra. It’s too dangerous for you; the cost is too much. There are other ways.”
“I see…” Rex turned away.
His voice sounded dejected, like it was a shame for him not to know that mantra.
But his lips were curling into a smirk slightly, though Nivellen couldn’t see it.
System… Did you catch that?
Moments later.
“How did you become like this, Linthia?” Amanir circled around Linthia, inspecting the changes in her like an artist inspecting a perfect sculpture. “I thought you were a goner for suddenly leaving like that, but I was wholly wrong! Look at you!”
Linthia had returned from making more safety measures to the vortex.
Right now, voidal monsters were crowding outside, drawn by the energy of the Phoenix Feather.
She worries the vortex wouldn’t hold until Rex woke up, so she fortified it.
“I… I’m also not quite sure,” She smiled sheepishly.
Even though she was now incredibly strong and almost alien, she still remained the same.
Timid and smiles easily.
It was relieving to see, though, since she must’ve gone through so much to obtain this power, and it was quite natural for her to change. To think that she remained the same was a miracle, one that Amanir was happy to see.
“Still…” Amanir placed an ear on her shoulder, shaking his head. “What you did is very reckless, do you understand that? You venturing into the Black Rift with a meager strength is the same as committing suicide, you know? And you really worry Rex and me.”
“Ah, I’ll keep that in mind,” Linthia bowed repeatedly like she was apologizing. “I’m sorry.”
Amanir dropped the lecture.
Since Linthia now understands how reckless and stupid what she did was, that’s more than enough.
“Amanir…”
“Hmm? Do you have something to say?”
“What happened during the time I was away? How did it get to this situation?”
“Right, you weren’t around. I’ll catch you up.”
Now that Linthia is going to be staying with them again, it’s best for her to really understand the situation they are really in right now. Amanir told her everything from how Rex became a part of the Castillon House, his endeavor, his deal with Empress Morgana, and then what happened earlier.
He spared no details whatsoever.
Just listening to the story made Linthia angrier and angrier.
“How could they do this?” Her eyes blazed with anger, and her aura flared like flames. “His Majesty is already kind enough to restrain himself from choosing the path of blood—and yet she still betrayed him like this?”
“It’s unexpected,” Amanir sighed. “Empress Morgana should have no reason to go against him.”
“Angels…” She looked down at the ground hatefully. “Who knew the two realms were correlated?”
“Yes. Had we known that, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“His Majesty must be in so much pain…”
Linthia knew that despite his fierce appearance and demeanor, Rex is extremely kind to the people he valued. He would sacrifice himself if the need arises, which was shown clearly—with every action that he takes.
Even his goal was noble and kind.
Like everything good in this world, something or someone has to bear the cost for that goodness.
And Rex paid the cost on his own.
His suffering knew no bounds—and oftentimes went unnoticed.
That was what she respected most: he never once complained. All that mattered was that this suffering would protect the others from suffering. ’I have power now,’ Linthia thought, looking down at her hands before slowly clenching them into fists. ’Enough to help him. I swear it—with all my heart, Your Majesty. I will do anything for you. Without question.’
On the other hand, Alana was sitting not too far away from them.
She kept her eyes fixed on Linthia and Amanir, staring at them with marvel, but it was Linthia who held her focus—a form she had never witnessed, not in all her millennia in this realm. Across ages spent in the Spirit Realm, meeting countless horrifying voidal monsters and supernatural phenomena, nothing had been quite like this.
’Her body contained life energy and even voidal energy, which was surprising. But what was even more surprising was her source,’ Alana’s eyes glowed—as she tries seeing through Linthia’s physical surface. ’She’s not a Spirit, that’s for certain.’
Every single being in the Spirit Realm can be traced down to the same intrinsic level.
Spirits or Voidal Monsters have a unique composition where their souls are one with the body.
It was the very base level of what a Spirit was.
But Linthia wasn’t like that.
Her physical body and energy stood plainly before Alana’s very eyes, yet at the same time—there was nothing inside. It was as though this form were merely a projection—an echo cast from a distance, while her true flesh and soul remained anchored somewhere else entirely.
“What about her?” Linthia looked at Alana. “Who is she?”
“Frankly, I’m not quite sure. But she helped Rex earlier,” Amanir shrugged.
Considering her attire, Amanir knew that she must be related to Kei Xun, as she also emanated a similar aura and scent as Kei Xun. But he wasn’t quite sure who this woman was. He hadn’t always been right beside Rex, so he didn’t know.
“I’m a High Priestess of the Sun Ecclesia Church, Alana,” She introduced. “I’m Rex’s acquaintance.”
“Pleased to meet you,” Linthia bowed slightly. “Do you need help healing your wounds?”
Even though the power was still unfamiliar, a new weight in her bones—but she could feel its potential: a quiet, instinctive certainty that she could heal with it. She hadn’t tried yet, but the knowing was there—deep and undeniable—like a second pulse waiting to be summoned.
It was precisely why she was helping Rex regenerate right now.
She was helping him exert the hostile energy and poison, then allowed his regeneration to do the rest.
“No, I can manage, but thank you for offering,” Alana smiled crookedly, a hiss almost threatened to slip from her lips as the cut on her stomach was still excruciatingly painful. “I need to be basked in sunlight to heal this…”
Just then, the three of them shifted their gaze to the side.
Something was moving in their peripheries.
It was Rex.
Rex’s soul slowly settled inside his body before he eventually opened his eyes.
Compared to earlier, there was no more urgency on his face.
It was enough of a reason to assume that everything went well.
“How did it go?” Amanir was the first one to ask. “What did you use those things for?”
“To heal the Countess of the Banished Dark Moon, a Lunirich Goddess,” Rex answered, surprising not only Amanir but also Linthia and Alana. None of them knew the real reason he came here, so learning that it was to heal a Goddess caught them off guard. “And I succeeded.”
“The Goddess is lucky to have you, Your Majesty,” Linthia said reverently.
Everyone around Rex was lucky to have him, in her opinion.
But then, she raised her gaze, “What is your next move going to be, Your Majesty?”
