The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1841: Divine Rule

Chapter 1841: Divine Rule
“Coming from us…?”
Evelyn could feel her blood running cold.
She needed to do something. Her guts told her to do so, but she didn’t know what.
It’s not like she knew anything about the higher planes.
“Evelyn,” Gistella called her name, drawing her attention back. “I think we should run away from here.”
Not even wasting a single more second as the air suddenly became even more ominous, Evelyn turned and ran back to where the others were gathered. She addressed her forces. “Get up!” She instructed with urgency. “We’re leaving. Now!”
“Your Majesty,” Sintra protested. “You’re panicking. I told you it’s fine.”
“Now is not the time to argue,” Evelyn responded sharply. “We’re leaving.”
She looked to the other side, and her eyes met with Princess Selene’s.
Just one look is all it takes for Princess Selene to also rally her forces to make a run for it. Being in this valley is not a good thing. At the very least, they should be regrouping with Prince Alaric—on the other side of the kingdom’s land.
Obeying her commands, Mavok howled and led the tactful retreat ahead.
Others soon followed, creating a stampede that shook the ground violently.
Adhara was on the right flank with Gistella, while Evelyn and Sintra were on the left flank.
Right behind, Princess Selene and her forces followed.
Even though she didn’t know what prompted Evelyn to command them to run like this, she also had her own suspicions. Above, the Blood Moon’s light seemed to be weighing heavily on her, and that is a sign enough for them to find refuge.
Along the way, Evelyn scanned the others.
And he noticed one chilling fact.
’None of us is going berserk,’ She thought, feeling a knot in her stomach that made her feel uneasy and exposed. ’If the Blood Moon told Selene to stall, then it should want to kill us through a collective rampage. But none of us is going berserk.
’Did the Lunirich God of the Blood Moon change its mind?’ She wondered.
It was probably unexpected for Princess Selene to be reasoned with and banded together with her.
So, the chance of the Lunirich God changing its mind is big.
’But if that’s the case, what is it trying to do now?’ Evelyn stole a glance at the sky. “How is it going to harm us? Possessing a host is the most likely. Wait… Is it Sven?’
Evelyn paused at the thought.
She recalled seeing Sven not too far away, suffering from an overload of moonlight energy.
Perhaps he was currently being possessed by the Blood Moon.
ROAR—!
Everyone looked over their shoulders when a powerful, thunderous roar reverberated through the air.
It was Sven’s roar.
A powerful, rageful roar that reverberated through the air and trembled the heart like a war drum. One that sent a shiver down their spines. Nothing good behind that roar. And this made Evelyn more certain that Sven is likely becoming the Blood Moon’s puppet.
But it was still a guess.
Gistella wasn’t staring at Sven earlier, so he might not have anything to do with the situation.
Just then, she heard a commotion from the other flank.
A few werewolves stumbled before quickly getting up and continuing on ahead. But there was one who didn’t get back up. “Gistella?!” Evelyn stopped abruptly at the sight of Gistella rolling across the ground like she made a mistake in her steps.
It shouldn’t be possible.
A Supernatural race like werewolves was among the best in terms of mobility.
Gistella didn’t fall because she made a mistake.
Some of the werewolves stopped, including Adhara, to help Gistella.
But concern got the better of Evelyn as she leaped to the other side. Sintra followed from behind.
“Gistella, say something!” Adhara shook her hard, but got no response. Gistella’s eyes were unnaturally wide, unfocused, tracking horrors only she could see. Her skin went clammy. Her breath came fast. And Adhara never saw her like this. “What’s wrong?!”
“Is the Blood Moon affecting her?”
“None of us are affected by the Blood Moon, so that shouldn’t be the case.”
Seeing what was going on, the knot in Evelyn’s stomach tightened harder.
’She’s looking at everyone,’ Evelyn realized, studying Gistella’s condition. Her gaze dropped to where the black heart pounded visibly through the armor, faster than she’d ever seen. ’Her second heart never beat that fast before. When she said she saw death in us, she meant it.’
“What are you all doing?” Sintra sternly asked as she watched the legions go past them. “Grab her and let’s keep going.”
All spared a glance, but only Princess Selene and Miriam stopped to see what was going on.
A few Alpha Primes assumed the lead as they galloped to the border.
For a mere Shaman, Adhara didn’t like Sintra’s tone at all, but she was right.
No time for them to idle around when the air around them seemed to be more ominous and dangerous by the second. She didn’t know what exactly, but her senses were all telling her to flee. She agreed with Evelyn that they needed to get out of here.
“Come on, hold onto me,” Adhara helped Gistella to stand.
But she refused.
Instead, she clasped her head with both shaking hands, “Something is wrong… Something is wrong…”
Princess Selene called for her personal pack hiding in the shadows and told them to cover the perimeter while they dealt with Gistella’s condition. She then turned back to the others, “If anything, the Lunirich Gods are behind this. They are angry at the Silverstar Pack, and this moment is perfect for them.
“After all, Kaiser knew the Royal Black Prince was not in this realm.” She grimly added.
Even though she was now banded with Evelyn, she couldn’t lie that the moment swayed her.
She forgot that the Lunirich Gods were after them, and now she’s a part of these apostates.
“What?” Evelyn turned in shock.
For a second, she thought she heard it wrong, but Princess Selene’s face showed that she hadn’t.
“How… How do you know Rex is not with us?” She asked incredulously.
Rex’s departure was sudden, even from them. Had he not given them the message, none of them would even realize that he was gone. And somehow, Princess Selene, who was hundreds of miles away, could get her hands on that information.
“As I said, the Blood Moon granted me a dream. And He said that your alpha is not present.”
“A God did that?”
Evelyn’s entire body felt weak when she learned this.
Before Rex departed for the Spirit Realm, he left behind a clone that mimics his aura identically so that nobody would use his absence as an opportunity to attack. Evelyn thought the problem would stem from other Supernatural races that still bore hatred towards him.
But the one who took advantage of this opportunity is a God instead.
“The Lunirich Gods aren’t the only Gods who exist,” Sintra cut in, scoffing at their ignorance. Idiocy of the youth. “The higher planes are bound by rules. They cannot simply do as they please in the lower realms. Had that not been the case, there would be no lower realms.” She turned to the princess. “Kaiser can reach us now, but his hands are tied. That’s why he contacted you, Your Highness.”
Her gaze then shifted to Evelyn, “If we stick together, we’ll be fine.”
Evelyn and Adhara exchanged a look.
And then almost at the same time, they turned to look at the shivering Gistella.
One question crossed their minds.
’Is she really overreacting?’
Gistella is the calmer one out of the three of them.
She spoke softly. Timid. And is always the one who comforted the others when they overreacted.
For her to be in this state is odd.
There had to be more to her condition, but neither could argue or even say a word to Sintra since they didn’t know anything about Gods. Just as they began to concede—to assume Gistella was overreacting, a voice cut through.
“That might normally be the case, but there are always exceptions,” Miriam stepped forward.
And almost instantly, Sintra’s face turned sour.
“As you said, there are rules that bind the Gods from ransacking lower realms,” Miriam approached Gistella and knelt down to inspect her. “And rules needed to be enforced. There are higher Gods—who might give permission for the Lunirich Gods to do one significant thing,”
“Yes, but the chances of that are basically zero,” Sintra argued.
Miriam looked over her shoulder sharply, “I’m only saying that your claim is false. Though small, there are chances of worse things happening—and she has the answers to that. Besides, I merely mentioned one other probability. There are dozens more.”
Hearing this, Sintra gritted her teeth but didn’t argue.
In terms of seniority, knowledge, and prowess, she was outclassed by Miriam.
“Can you really find out what’s going on with her?” Adhara asked hopefully.
“I can’t be certain. I can only eliminate the causes I know—and there are many I don’t.” Miriam offered a gentle smile, then sliced her palm with her claws—and placed it against Gistella’s head. “Let us hope the cause can be found.”
Adhara stood up with urgency, “Evelyn, try contacting Rex and see if he can come back right now.”
“Will that even matter?” Evelyn asked back. “He’s in another realm. It should take time for him to cross over to our realm.”
“Just contact him. He will find a way,” Adhara clenched her hands, and her expression hardened—with conviction. “He will always find a way for us.”
Evelyn nodded and went aside to try to contact Rex.
Since she has the Harmony of Two Souls skill, her connection to him is stronger.
Reaching him is possible, as she did not too long ago.
A pack member from the Dancing Stripe pack arrived shortly after—one of Princess Slene’s. She noted the Beta’s labored breathing, unusual since the distance from where they were to the border is not that far. “Catch your breath first,” She told her. Then, she looked behind. “Where are the rest?”
“The valley is surrounded!” She said through ragged gasps. “Surrounded!”
“Surrounded?” Princess Selene tilted her head in confusion. “Surrounded by who?”
Everything around the area is under her control.
Nobody would even dare to siege her as the Alpha Primes in hundreds of miles in radius were hers.
“It’s Kaiser! The Blood Moon is mad at us and crushed the dimension into a sea of blood!”
“What?!”
Based on what Sintra explained earlier, Kaiser shouldn’t be able to do this much to them, even with the Blood Moon empowering his presence. He needs an avatar to exert more of his power—and without it, he could barely do anything.
But creating a sea of blood doesn’t sound like nothing.
At the same time, Miriam’s eyes opened wide, and she staggered backward in shock.
She stared at Gistella like she was looking at a detonating bomb.
“What? What’s wrong with her?” Adhara grabbed her shoulder and asked.
“She…” Miriam stuttered. Her horrified eyes were still fixated on Gistella. “She has divine strands in her!”
“A Demigod?!” Sintra was also taken aback. “How is she a Demigod?! Our world isn’t awakened fully!”
Unlike the others, she knew exactly what this meant.
“Explain to us what’s wrong with her having divine strands,” Adhara commanded. She couldn’t hide the panic in her tone anymore, as this was not the reaction she wanted. “Miriam! Explain it to us! We need to know!”
“The rules that bound the Gods are directly tied to the divinity within the specific realm,” Miriam snapped out of her trance and explained. “Gods can’t do anything much within a realm that hosts only mortals, or the rules would severely punish them. But if there’s a Demigod…”
“Then the restriction loosened,” Evelyn completed her sentence before she could.
Just then, however, Miriam stared at Evelyn oddly.
An inkling urge nudge her to also check the other Silverstars.
Hesitantly, she reached for Evelyn’s head with her hand, and then her expression turned pale.
“Impossible,” She gulped harshly. “You… You have divine strands, too.”
