The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse - Chapter 1358: Space Isolation

Chapter 1358: Space Isolation
“Glad to be here, Lord Darius. Sorry it took a while to come,” Klaus responded, his expression showing some form of politeness.
While he is the Paragon, that doesn’t give him the qualification to look down on just anyone. He knew he had to be polite when the need called for it.
“Nothing to be concerned about, Renegade Hunter. I can see you are now an Early Immortal, so it is perfectly understood.”
Klaus nodded, wearing the same polite smile.
“Lady Rory,” Darius nodded toward Rory, who nodded back. She is the daughter of the mighty Star-Lord Victor, after all.
Darius turned to the other two Immortal Lords standing beside him and introduced them. “This is Lord Declain. He is the Mission Hall leader on Planet Bluemoon. Lady Ingix is the leader of all the mission halls in the southern quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy.”
“Pleased to meet two seniors,” Klaus gave them a light bow, which they reciprocated.
Lord Declain held a smile on his face, showing he was just like Darius, a bit lighthearted. Perhaps they had known each other for a long time, considering they both are High Humans.
However, Lady Ingix kept a rather close eye on Klaus, making him feel like she wanted to eat him.
’Icon, do you have any idea why she is looking at me like that?’ Klaus asked, but Icon was useless in finding what he wanted.
[The master is overthinking everything.]
Klaus smiled inwardly, already trusting his senses over what Icon said. He could tell the lady was looking at him weirdly, something he never expected from a peaceful visit to Planet Bluemoon.
“Now that we know each other, I think we should go back to meet the leader, considering he has been waiting for a while now,” Darius said and turned toward Lady Ingix. “We wouldn’t want him waiting for too long, now would we?”
She stood there for a few more seconds before nodding. It seemed she had a problem with Klaus, and Darius knew something.
Darius gestured forward, and a sleek jet appeared. “Let’s go, then.”
Soon, they were on their way to the location where Klaus would meet the leader of the mission hall in all of the Milky Way.
Klaus knew Darius knew something, so after he settled down properly, he used Icon to connect telepathically with him.
If he tried using his star qi to talk to him, the others would notice and, to some extent, even sniff out what they would be saying.
Of course, there was also the issue with the kind of person they were going to see. He is a True God, someone way above Klaus’s league, so he wouldn’t take that risk.
’Lord Darius, I can’t help but pick up on the hostility Lady Ingix is showing. While subtle, my senses are too sharp to miss it. So, mind telling me what I did wrong to warrant such a reaction?’
Lord Darius already had a smile on his face, so while he was shocked that Klaus was able to link to his mind without his permission, he made no expression to indicate otherwise.
’I am sure by now you have already seen the changes to your hunter profile.’
’Yes,’ he saw the unique hunter title already.
’Let’s just say, while I am happy about things, not everyone seems pleased. Lady Ingix seems to be one of these people. They don’t want you having this many privileges. To them, you are not qualified.’
’Oh, I see then. I guess not everyone appreciates my awesomeness. However, I hope her hostility won’t go beyond the looks she was shooting me.
I may have fought an Immortal Lord, but that doesn’t mean I can fight another one, especially someone I am meant to trust.’
’Rest assured, Renegade Hunter, when it comes to your safety, none of us will compromise that.’
’Good to hear that.’
Klaus sighed, then turned to Rory. “You could have waited for me in the spaceship. I am in safe hands here.”
Rory turned and looked at him for a little longer than a second before turning away. “My father said I should protect you, so regardless of where you are or how safe you are, I will be by your side. Do you have a problem with that?”
“Not really,” Klaus grinned. “I just think since you are not talking to me, you wouldn’t waste your time coming with me. Lord Darius and the others are here to protect me.”
“I am here now, so deal with it.” Rory is not much of a talker. However, when she wants to talk, there is no stopping her.
“I guess not many are thrilled to be in the company of an awesome hunter like myself,” Klaus directed his statement to Rory, but Lord Darius knew he was talking to Lady Ingix.
This made him smile. “Rest assured, Renegade Hunter, everyone is thrilled to have you here. I am sure Lady Rory is jet-lagged, so maybe cut her some slack.”
“I suppose you are right, Lord Darius.” Klaus smiled and leaned back in his chair. What he had done now was an indirect provocation to make sure Lady Ingix knew he was aware of and prepared for any opposition.
Although he is not particularly bothered, it would be nice to have someone important like Lady Ingix on his side.
Ten minutes later, they arrived atop a small mountain where only a small mansion could be seen. In front of this mansion is a small garden and a pavilion.
Under the pavilion sat a young man with short dark hair and green eyes. He looked human, just like Klaus, but he had slightly longer ears than a normal human.
’That is a Half-Elf,’ Klaus said inwardly, his eyes narrowing a bit.
The question that came to mind was, Why is a Half-Elf the leader of the Milky Way Mission Hall?
Klaus kept the question to himself, for he knew gods can be unreasonable sometimes.
They disembarked from the jet and started walking toward the pavilion.
A few steps in, Klaus sensed that his surroundings were starting to change. It was as if he were being isolated from the others.
’Space Law’
He sensed what was happening; however, he made no attempt to show he knew. Outside him, Rory and the others reached the young man while Klaus remained a few steps away, his expression calm.
In his eyes, he was still walking with the others.
’Space isolation, huh? Looks like he is testing me.’
Klaus smiled, then he raised his index finger and turned his head toward the pavilion. However, instead of looking at the young man whom he believed was the true god, he looked at Rory, showing he knew he was isolated.
“This is your first lesson. Whenever you have been trapped in a space isolation, all you have to do is poke the air.”
Klaus pinched the air with his index finger, and like glass breaking, the space around him shattered.
“Impressive,” the young man said, but no expression appeared on his face to show if he was truly impressed. However, Klaus knew he was indeed impressed.
Well, he had to be, for the space law he had just broken was a high-tier one. He was able to break it because he had done it before.
“Welcome, Renegade Hunter. You can call me Sir Lux.”
