The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse - Chapter 1393 - 1393: Warrior X Hunter (3)

Rouni’s figure blurred, his green lightning tearing across the arena like a raging serpent. The ground beneath his feet cracked as he accelerated, both swords carving through the air in intersecting arcs meant to trap Klaus in a cross-shaped execution.
He was furious, and so were countless others.
For a moment there, nobody saw what Klaus did to Rouni coming. They never in their wildest dreams expected Klaus to waste such a good chance on absolutely nothing serious.
He had the advantage, but he wasted it on something very silly.
The warriors were pissed because what he did was a direct provocation to them and everything they believed in.
However, they also saw that Klaus was no simple warrior. He had proven that he could use the Time Law to such an extent. But to think he used it to paint Rouni’s face, they were angry, and so was Rouni.
His attack was deadly in intent, aimed at overwhelming his opponent.
As his attack came, Klaus did not retreat.
Instead, he stepped forward.
Their weapons met in a deadly collision, and sparks, mixed with green Divine Lightning, filled the air. Rouni pressed down hard with brutal force, his muscles tightening, his Immortal Rings flaring brighter as he poured power into his arms.
The lightning bolts traveled along the scythe’s shaft and began attacking Klaus. With every attack, he felt a large chunk of his energy taken away.
“Such powerful lightning. Too bad you are facing a monster,” Klaus said inwardly before he was attacked again.
Seeing he was locked down, Klaus quickly looked for a way to escape the predicament he was in. He twisted his wrist, redirecting the pressure. The scythe slid between the two swords, hooking one of them for half a second — just enough to open a gap in Rouni’s defense.
Being a seasoned warrior, he quickly noticed it and took measures to cover it.
While he was angry about what Klaus had done to his face, his battle intelligence was still on point. He wasn’t letting his anger negatively influence him.
He reacted instantly, releasing the trapped blade and spinning in a quick, decisive motion. His free sword sliced horizontally, aiming to bisect Klaus at the waist.
Klaus leaned back so far it seemed unnatural. But that caused the blade to pass inches from his chest. His heel dug into the arena floor, and he snapped upright with a rising kick aimed at Rouni’s chin.
Rouni blocked with the flat of his sword, but the impact still sent him skidding backward.
Before Klaus could press the advantage, Rouni vanished into thin air.
The next moment, he appeared with two deadly overhead attacks, both aimed at his head.
Klaus raised his scythe to block, but Rouni vanished again, only to appear behind him with double stabs.
Klaus moved forward, creating distance between them. But yet again, Rouni vanished and appeared before him, two deadly arcs aimed at his torso.
Klaus managed to evade that, only for Rouni to vanish again and the next moment appear behind him, his swords poised for a deadly attack.
Rouni reappeared in flashes, each appearance accompanied by a blade thrust. Because of how fast he was moving, illusions layered over reality, making it impossible to tell which strike was real.
Klaus quickly found himself on the defensive, moving from one defensive maneuver to the next, making sure every attack that came his way was blocked.
Rouni was running circles around him, and for a minute, Klaus found himself locked on all sides. In fact, the more attacks that came his way, the clearer it became to him that there was more to Rouni’s attacks than he made it appear.
Whenever he defended against an attack from him, he sensed that he had fallen into a trap. However, no matter how hard he looked, he just couldn’t put his fingers on it.
But the suspicion lingered.
It only grew after defending against about a dozen attacks. If he dodged, that strange sense didn’t trigger anything.
However, whenever their weapons met after Rouni vanished and reappeared, that strange sense appeared.
Inside the VIP room, Supreme Elder Juo held a calm smile on his face.
“Something funny?” the Doom Hunter asked, his brow furrowed.
He is a Supreme, so he can see beyond what Klaus could see. This was why, from his perspective, he delved much deeper into Rouni’s attack and knew something was amiss.
The only problem is, even with his Supreme mind, he can’t tell exactly what Rouni was planning. This can only mean the technique he was using was something even a Supreme couldn’t see through.
“Let’s just say in five minutes your Renegade Hunter will be defeated, and there is nothing he can do to change that.”
The confidence in Supreme Elder Juo’s tone made the Doom Hunter feel uneasy.
Turning toward the battle arena, he saw that Klaus was still being pressed down. His Killing Discs had split into a dozen discs, but even with that advantage, Rouni was just fast enough to evade his attacks.
“During the Era of the Paragon of War, there was a warrior named Burning Angel. He came from the Flame Angel Race, and he was measured as someone with the same talent as a Paragon.
It was said that he never learned a technique created by someone else. From the moment he awakened, he had always depended on himself for all his techniques. One of his techniques that made him a feared warrior was the [Beast God Dominion].
They called him the greatest Angel warrior to walk the face of the universe.
From what I know, it takes ten minutes to activate, but once activated, whoever it is used against will be defeated, regardless of how monstrous they are.
Even the legendary Paragon of War was defeated by the Beast God Dominion. So Supreme Elder Juo is right. The Renegade hunter has only 4 minutes left to change the scene of battle.”
Supreme Scholar Demel from the Dark Space Company said, causing the other Supremes to widen their eyes.
“No, you didn’t,” the Doom Hunter muttered in shock, turning toward Supreme Elder Juo. “Tell me you didn’t give that technique to your son.”
Supreme Elder Juo smiled. “I didn’t. The Burning Angel personally gave it to him.”
“What?”
Burning Angel is one of the founding fathers of the Warrior Tower. So, for him to give his technique to Rouni, who had only recently made a name for himself, one couldn’t help but wonder why he did so.
“Nothing to be shocked about, Doom Hunter. I have to admit that this Renegade Hunter is not a simple hunter.
However, when talent and technique are considered, Rouni exceeds him, as seen in how quickly he was able to comprehend the Beast God Dominion.
Now, watch how he defeats your rising star when he isn’t even the rising star of my Warrior Tower.”
In the arena, the longer Rouni vanishes, reappears, and attacks, the more Klaus senses the danger brewing just beneath his reach.
He can sense it, and he keeps straining his mind to figure out what is wrong. However, no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t make sense of anything.
The minutes die down until there is only one minute left. Klaus has so far managed to defend against all of Rouni’s attacks; however, he isn’t happy about that.
The seconds quickly count down until there are about 20 left. By then, Rouni had attacked him over 500 times.
But just when there are about ten seconds left, Klaus finally manages to see through what Rouni had been up to. When he sees he has fallen into a trap, and even a familiar one at that, a smile appears on his face.
“Ah, crap.”
Just as he says that, over 600 runes light up in the air, and a large formation opens in the sky.
