The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse - Chapter 1394 - 1394: Warrior X Hunter (4)

All over the universe, the gods and supremes who were watching the battle gasped when the formation appeared.
Many recognised it as the [Beast God Dominion], so they became super shocked to see a mere True Immortal use it.
It can be considered a technique that has progressed through all stages of cultivation, considering the Burning Angel created it at the beginning of his rise as a warrior.
It had been perfected, and all flaws that came with it were fixed and refined before finally becoming a legendary technique that caused many gods and supremes to fall under its insidious power.
For Rouni to be able to activate it alone is a miracle in itself.
Klaus stood calm, his mind going back to the day he met the Burning Angel during the Paragon of War Era.
Magnus had met many powerful warriors over the years he had lived simply because of who he was. He faced many of them in battle, but at every turn, he always won.
However, the Burning Angel was an adversary he would never forget.
Their battle lasted for just a day, but he had to use a life-saving treasure to escape when the Burning Angel used the [Beast God Dominion] against him.
Magnus came close to death, something he never expected from a mere god back then. So seeing the same formation active—even if much weaker than the real deal—made him feel a slight sense of deja vu.
At one point, he felt all paths of escape were blocked, and, to make matters even worse, the formation cut off all access to his energy source. This meant all nine cores had been blocked, and, as a result, Klaus had become much weaker.
“You should have killed me when you had the chance,” Rouni said, standing in the air 20 meters away from Klaus.
“Where is the fun in that?” Klaus replied, using his scythe to support his body. The longer he remained under the formation, the heavier an invisible force fell on him.
“You can do the same thing, you know. Just deactivate this formation and let us have a good battle like men.”
For the first time, a genuine smile appeared on Rouni’s face… “I guess I can tell you really are a shameless one. No wonder you are a hunter.”
“Oh, are you saying all hunters are shameless?” Klaus asked with his brow furrowed.
“I know and am proud I only use my skills to protect the universe, not to work for personal gain.”
“I see. So, me picking a mission with a big payday is a shameless thing to do, according to your beliefs, huh?”
Rouni didn’t reply, but it was plain he meant exactly what Klaus said. This made the Hunters very angry. They all wanted to jump into the arena and give him a good beating.
“You know what, why don’t you tell me what kind of formation this is and what technique it came from? If I am going to be defeated by it, I might as well know about it.”
Rouni thought for a moment, but seeing how weaker and weaker Klaus grew, he didn’t mind and chose to tell him.
“It is the Beast God Dominion, created by the legendary Burning Angel. It has no counter, so the moment you find yourself locked down by it, there is no escape route to take.
This is why you should just give up and accept defeat. Regardless of how hard you will struggle, you will be defeated by me today.”
Klaus raised his head and looked at the sky. For a moment, a smile formed on his face. After his battle with Burning Angel, he had become obsessed with the Beast God Dominion.
He spent hundreds of years researching about it to the point he sought out the Burning Angel several times but he never came.
Today, he had the chance to experience it again.
“I count 100 million arrays. If I am not mistaken, this is a Celestial-level formation. To break free of its hold, I need to decipher every last array.
But since there are 100 million arrays, even if I have 500 minds, I wouldn’t be able to decipher 10% of them before I run out of energy.”
Rouni seemed a bit surprised that Klaus saw through the formation at one glance. It took him 200 years to see all 100 million arrays and another 2000 years to master 1 million of them.
He could use the formation alright, but at the moment, he can control only 1 million arrays. So, for Klaus to see through that so easily, he was a bit stunned.
And it wasn’t just him. Seated somewhere very far from the universe, a red-haired angel furrowed his brow when he heard what Klaus said.
“Who is this kid, and how could he see through my creation? Not even Magnus was able to tell the nature of my technique.”
He sighed, then a thought popped into his mind. “Can he break it though? If he could, then I must at all costs get my hands on him.”
Back inside the arena, Rouni got serious. He formed a hand seal, and 1000 arrays moved, merging together. The next moment, a 200-meter-tall wolf with one horn on its forehead appeared in the arena, exuding the aura of a Peak True Immortal.
“Now do you have any last words, perhaps an apology?”
Klaus smiled and sat in a lotus posture. “As a matter of fact, I do. You see, a very long time ago, there was a young boy who only wanted one thing—the freedom to pursue a certain Ice Princess.
However, because of the life he was thrust into, love and affection were considered limitations. It is good to love, but not like this brat wanted.
So what did his uncles do? They locked him in a room full of books. Until he read every last book, he wouldnt be allowed outside the room.
At first, he cursed them for being shameless, but after a few days, he decided to engage his mind by reading.
In no time, he fell in love with the books, and for the next year he would read thousands of them.
It was through that reading marathon that he discovered an ancient manual written by none other than Buddha.”
Klaus clapped his hands together in a prayer pose and closed his eyes. “On the cover of the book, it reads, ‘The State of Oneness of the Mind, Soul, and Body.'”
“Basically, what this meant is, when the mind, soul, and body become one, there is nothing you can’t do. ” Klaus formed a hand seal and smiled.
“So why don’t you try defeating me when I have long achieved Oneness of the Soul, Mind, and Body?” Just when he said that, a large silhouette of Buddha’s statue appeared behind him showing he had regained the connection to his cores.
Rouni’s eyes narrowed when he saw this. Clearly, Klaus was supposed to be out of energy, yet he managed to manifest an avatar. That wasn’t something he expected to happen while under the influence of the Beast God Dominion
“KILL HIM!”
He gestured toward Klaus, and the wolf’s horn glowed bright green. Then a beam of condensed divine lightning shot out.
Klaus smiled and opened his palm, pointing the right one toward the incoming attack. Buddha did the same thing, and just when the attack came close to him, a large black metallic palm manifested before him.
The beam landed on it, sending a shockwave flying. When the attack ended, Klaus’s body was revealed, seated, unscathered and a smile playing on his lips.
“You see, just like how your formation has never been broken before, so is my Ultimate Buddha Palm. From the Manual, nobody has ever broken it, so maybe put some effort into proving me wrong.”
He gave Rouni a wink, which infuriated him, leaving him in a state of shock. But he wasn’t the only one in shock; Supreme Elder Juo was the same, and so was the red-haired angel.
