The Martial Unity - Chapter 3211: Filtering Out Blood

Chapter 3211: Filtering Out Blood
“You don’t have to accomplish it single-handedly,” Rui replied. “But as long as it helps, it is very welcome. I have other solutions that I can think of. For example, a more brute-force method of relying on mass hypnosis across the entire continent.”
“That is crude and too direct to have as strong an effect as you would like,” she shook her head. “You need something more subtle. However, the good news is that the environmental factor is already in our favor. Human civilization is still very much obsessed with Martial Art, and even more so since the Beast Incursion.”
Rui nodded thoughtfully.
Ever since the Beast Incursion began, the gap between a civilian and a soldier had reduced tremendously. The Kandrian Empire was one of the few that didn’t need to trample upon civil liberties, but most nations doled out conscriptions and mandatory training.
It meant that most boys and men were essentially forced to become the equivalent of foundational students of the Martial Academy, along with a solid proportion of women as well.
This astronomically increased the rate of breakthroughs.
It also inculcated a Martial culture in most places, severely cementing Martial Art as the cornerstone of human survival.
This would have a great effect on future generations who had more human blood. It certainly had an effect on the blood children.
The issue was that it was impossible for the blood children to develop a Martial Path because the genetic factor was too strong. Genetics was still the largest predictor of Path, and this kind of social conditioning would only work for more hybrid offspring with equal or more human blood, as they had hemosapien blood.
Thankfully, even with the end of the Beast Incursion, human civilization hadn’t returned to peace and abandoned Martial culture by any means. After all, the Unfolding had opened up new and even greater threats, causing human civilization to become even more extreme in its militaristic culture.
“This is definitely going to tilt the odds in our favor,” Rui remarked with an optimistic tone. “But I want to have an even stronger force molding our future in the direction of Martiality. And I have some good ideas that will definitely steer future hemosapien hybrids towards developing Martiality.”
Amare raised an eyebrow. “Go on.”
“It’s rather simple,” Rui continued. “Even within future hybrids of humans and hemosapiens, there will likely be a spectrum of what kind of hybrid Path they develop. There will be those who develop a Path that leans towards more Martial than blood, while others will lean more towards blood than Martial. We merely need to filter the latter out.”
Amare furrowed her eyebrows. “Filter how? I hope you don’t mean something violent.”
“Of course not,” Rui shook his head. “I mean, filter their genes out in a natural process. After all, the former will thrive more than the latter. Those who have a Path that is more Martial than blood will have a much larger advantage.”
She understood where he was coming from.
“Martial Art already has a very powerful foundation,” she mused. “This means that those with Paths that are more Martial will be able to progress quicker because the human civilization understands Martial Paths better and how to progress them better. We have great resources, teachers, and experience when it comes to progressing Martial Art. In comparison, the Blood Path is unknown. Thus, hybrids of the future that have more Martial Art will be able to progress quicker. But how does that translate to their genes being preserved more?”
“Well, that’s where we will need to come in,” Rui replied. “Or, my father, rather. He will need to set up a program that essentially collects the seed and eggs of the most successful hybrids to spread across human civilization, just as the Blood Goddess’ eggs have been propagated across human civilization. The most successful hybrids will, of course, be those who are more Martial than blood for the stated reasons.”
“…So you intend to select for hybrids that are more Martial, essentially,” she realized.
“While also making human civilization stronger.” Rui pointed out.
“But the hybrids who pursue the Blood Path will not be pleased,” she noted knowingly. “This will cause many losers who will essentially feel the system is rigged against them.”
Rui shrugged.
“Tough luck. They are already blessed with superhuman power from that, I think I don’t mind if not everything goes their way. The fact of the matter is that there are always winners and losers. It is the foundation of evolution. Survival of the fittest.”
She stirred with mixed expressions.
The old Amare would have greatly rejected such a cruel but inevitable system, but her current self was not as idealistic and naive as her old self. She understood the inevitability and even the necessity of this cruel world order.
“You will need to keep an eye out on all those who have chosen or who have been born with a Blood Path exclusively,” she remarked knowingly. “These people will not just willingly let their power and blood die out. It could very well become the foundation of an extremist blood human movement that will seek to genocide humans and replace them with hemosapiens.”
Rui heaved a sigh. “That is a very human thing to do, unfortunately. But it’s not my focus. My father is more than wise and smart enough to be aware of this possibility. He and the other human immortal sages will need to handle it together. The immortal sages don’t like Martial Art because it disenfranchises common people who haven’t harnessed its power, but at least Martial Artists come from humans. Hemosapiens, on the other hand, do not need humans and will be much more cruel to them than Martial Artists ever were.”
She nodded. “…It is unfortunate that we can’t just all get along with each other. That goes not just for humans but also for the true world. But such is the way of the world.”
“Not entirely,” Rui replied. “That is what we will be voyaging through the true world for, after all. Today is our last day in the Panama Continent. Make sure you say your goodbyes, because we will not be coming back home anytime soon.”
