The Martial Unity - Chapter 3339: The Power of Transcendence

Chapter 3339: The Power of Transcendence
Rui was sincerely grateful to the Mother of Nature for hiding him when he needed it the most. He was glad that his prophecy technique had shown him someone who identified that he, too, had felt the Transcendent Fear when he activated Gigabrain. If he could repay the debt by helping them learn what they needed to learn.
Although it wasn’t ideal that an outsider learned about Martial Transcendents, he still kept his word, telling her everything that he knew about the fear.
Mother Maeria, on the other hand, could hardly contain the joy of finally having someone who understood what she had felt. She had gone more than a century without a single person being able to experience the fear that she experienced, leaving her deprived of real understanding from the people around her.
She had even been treated as crazy for suggesting that there could be some cosmic horror beyond Gaian limitations that could potentially destroy all of them.
Her eyes lit up as she attentively listened to everything Rui told her, from the first time that he had learned about the fear, to the explanations that he had gotten from Transcendent Raizel, to the even deeper explanations that he had gotten from Martial Primordial.
He told her about how even Jormungandr appeared to be in on it, along with the Martial Transcendents, and that the Fear was connected to why they didn’t move.
“…It appears to be something truly unfathomable,” Rui remarked with a severe tone, before gazing at his hands. “The sheer horror and terror I felt when I activated Gigabrain was so great that it exceeded anything I had ever sensed in my life. It was just the most terrifying feeling in the entire world.”
“Yes…” she nodded with vigor as her eyes lit up. “Exactly. It was a bone-chilling terror that left me frozen for an entire day after I sensed it, paralyzed by fear. It is beyond mortal fathoming. I suspect only those entities that fulfill certain conditions, insofar as their state of life can sense the fear. It requires not just a scale of power and senses to be able to sense it, but an equally powerful mind, which is what I would suspect. My Resonance of Nature must have fulfilled that condition, while your ’Gigabrain’ must have also elevated your being to the necessary level to fathom the fear. As for these ’Martial Transcendents’…”
She gazed at him with an expression of interest. “I find it hard to fathom that there exists an even higher class of warriors who vastly exceed even you. Such individual power doesn’t exist, surely.”
Rui smiled wryly at the elder elven grandma. “Trust me when I say that Martial Transcendents are the strongest. They would crush me with a blink of their eye. They tap into the power to alter reality itself through their Martial Art. It is extraordinarily overpowered. As far as I can tell, none of the paths in the true world is able to tap into this power yet. Probably because you don’t know it exists. But it does exist. And if you gain the power of tapping into the Transcendent Realm, you will be able to reach a whole new dimension of power that can only be described as that of a god.”
Mother Maeria’s eyes lit up with hope.
“I had thought there was no more power left to be gained.”
She gazed around the cavity they were in.
“This true body of mine has reached the limit of the size it can attain, not because of an inherent limit, but because of an environmental and circumstantial limit. East Genora is indeed vast, but it is already occupied by more than a hundred Mothers of Nature who each require vast territories. Expanding my domain even more to become even larger would require infringing on the resources of my little sisters. It is not something that I can do.”
Rui’s expression grew curious. “In that case, the Nature Path has a very defined limit for a given patch of land. If you wish to grow stronger beyond material constraints, then you will need to expand to other continents.”
“Which we cannot do because we are strongest in our homeland,” she heaved a sigh. “That is why we rely on conflict to expand ourselves, unlike other races. There is only one solution to this problem.”
Rui gazed at her knowingly.
“The Race to Space.”
She nodded. “That is exactly correct. The Race to Space opens up a whole new universe for us, literally. If we can terraform planets to suit our needs with our Flora Forge Technology, then we will be able to expand our power to even greater heights. However…”
Her eyes sharpened. “Even that will only expand our collective power. It will not expand my individual power to allow me to deal with this fear by myself. That is why I searched the world for someone who could sense the same fear as I. But I never found one, not even among the other top ten powerhouses in the world.”
She turned towards him with a deep gaze.
“Now you have informed me of a source of power that I didn’t know existed. And, to be frank, one that I still don’t know exists. After all, you may insist it exists, but I have never sensed anything like what you have suggested. To be able to alter reality with your mind? That truly sounds absurd.”
Rui fell into thought. “…if you want proof, then I’m sure you’re aware of the rubble of the moon that entered the orbit of Gaia far into outer space, right?”
She nodded. “When the Panama Continent appeared out of nowhere as a part of this continent. A miracle we still are unable to fathom. It brought along with it a destroyed moon.”
Rui raised a finger.
“The moon was artificial. It was created by a Martial Transcendent with his bare hands. It was also destroyed by another Martial Transcendent with a single step.”
