The Martial Unity - Chapter 3369: Forgot His Wallet

Chapter 3369: Forgot His Wallet
The Hlakaschken Trade Empire was unlike anything that the two of them had ever seen. Rui had been given the impression that the races were intractably conflicted with each other, or at least intractably averse to each other, but the existence of such states where they all coexisted with each other proved that he was wrong.
Not only could they coexist, but they could even prosper together.

The two of them walked across the ocean surface, drawing curious looks from many of the people at the harbor. Yet, it wasn’t there race that drew the attention of people but more so the fact that they strutted across the ocean, implying that they had traveled a substantial distance that way.
They eventually shrugged and got back to work, ignoring him entirely. The busy atmosphere at the port, with all the hustle, made sure that nobody could be bothered to keep their attention on two curiosities for too long.

Rui and Amare eventually made their way to the harbor port unbothered. Strangely enough, they began smelling the ocean even more intensely the moment they set foot on land, for some reason.
The smell of salt and fish hung in the air while the noise from the docking ships and the noise of people drowned out any other sound around them. The bright light of the afternoon Sun and the coastal humidity made the port harbor uncomfortably hot, leaving everybody sweating in the sweltering heat.
Rui and Amare simply stood on the edge of the harbor, drawing momentary wary glances from those around who passed by them.
It was an ordinary experience, yet it was unlike anything that either Rui or Amare had experienced in decades.
“Incredible…” Amare murmured with stunned delight as her attention darted around the port. “Nobody cares…! Nobody cares who we are!”
Her amber eyes twinkled with excitement. “Let’s go explore this place to heart’s content without anybody bothering us!”
“We didn’t come here for a vacation, you know,” Rui muttered, only to be dragged helplessly by Amare’s unyielding grip and mighty strength.
She pulled him deeper into the harbor as they navigated through discontent crowds.
“Dtus! jaebree stnaed you’re xammsd!”
“Rurd! wux veshizaotho shafaer ar ppetis!”
“Oiho faiiikz fy, oiho wuknordauz!”
Rui almost found the irreverence refreshing compared to how normal people normally treated him back on the Panama Continent, even if he couldn’t understand their words due to the language barriers. He simply smiled with wry amusement as Amare pulled him deeper into the harbor, towards a flea market formed on the streets adjacent to the harbor in the port town.
Different members of different races had set up little stalls and even simple makeshift mats on the street with a variety of different items laid out on top. Many of which were products directly relating to the sea were arranged neatly across the counter.
He spotted species of fish native to the true world, not found in and around the Panama Continent, and were specifically native to the waters around Grigolo Island. There were many exquisite shells that many sold, having transformed them into ornaments and even jewelry.
“They’re so pretty!” Amare beamed with delight as she picked out a pendant with a seashell with a tinge of amber. “Doesn’t this go well with my eyes?”
“Indeed, it complements you quite well,” Rui offered, before scratching his head. “But we don’t have any money to offer.”
Rui turned to the older woman selling the crafts.
Her body had the mildest tinge of translucence, indicating that she was of evosapien descent, while the fur on her limbs suggested that she also had therianthropic blood flowing through her veins.
Moreover, with the Tree of Life, Rui could detect her genetic heritage with perfect precision.
She wasn’t just a hybrid of a therianthrope and evolutionary; she even had eleven bloodlines running through her veins, most likely from her mother’s side, given that he could sense it in the genes that one typically gained from the mother.
He had never expected that his Tree of Life enlightenment would come to use in detecting a person’s genetic background in this manner, but he wasn’t complaining.
She simply gazed at him, eying him up and down with a stern gaze.
“Akr ulgmko fangr, dint yikd winaato wdaulniirdaeda.”
The words were meaningless to Rui, but with the overwhelming gap in their minds, he could sense the meaning of her words with his mind sense.
It’s sixty mirls, don’t even bother bargaining.
Rui smiled wryly at her.
He found it curious that she looked at him, expecting that he would be the one to pay for the pendant. It appeared that certain dynamics between men and women held true even in a country as racially and ethnically pluralistic as the Hlakaschken Trade Empire.
“I forgot to bring my wallet.” Rui’s tone contained a tinge of sarcasm.
Money had lost meaning to him even before he became a Martial Sage.
He had reached such an echelon of power where money was more of a hindrance than a blessing. Even when he was a Senior prince in the Kandrian Throne War, money was still something he regarded as quite important.
The stronger he grew, however, the more utterly meaningless it was.
He had true, pure power that made him the most, or the second most, powerful man in all of Panama. The only one who might have been more powerful than him was his own father, who was largely on the same page with him on most issues.
His attention returned to the seated older woman who simply sized him up, as if trying to gauge whether he could pay for it or not.
“I don’t have money.”
He uttered the words in the Panaman dialect, while using an edited version of Fauna Flow to directly embed the meaning of his words into her head.
She frowned as she magically understood the meaning of his words in her head. She sharpened her aged, dark eyes with suspicion before shaking her head.
