The Martial Unity - Chapter 3499: Heightened Resolution II

Chapter 3499: Heightened Resolution II
Death’s Sympathy was a technique that Rui had stopped using because it didn’t work against Martial Artists of the Upper Realms. The powerful technique had served Rui extremely well in the Senior Realm, but Martial Artists of the Upper Realms had too much control, efficiency, and mastery of higher principles in their movements.
However, the same was not necessarily true for other pathwalkers. Efficiency and control were not parameters that they even considered. Instead, they simply consumed more energy than Martial Artists, requiring enormous supplies of energy just to sustain a single battle. Rui couldn’t even imagine how much energy it took to sustain the Dragon Emperor directly or indirectly. Even the energy that they drained from the Sun with their Dyson Spheres was likely not enough to fully quench their great thirst for energy.
It was this absence of efficiency in other paths that gave Rui the idea that Death’s Sympathy was something that could very well be effective against the Dragon Emperor. His glowing red eyes sharpened as he unleashed another powerful blow against the Dragon Emperor.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The Dragon Emperor shook as Rui’s impact permeated through the invintium scales like they didn’t even exist. Never before had his armor been reduced to such an insignificant hurdle. The sheer amount of pain Rui was able to make him feel with what should have been weak blows was stunning, having been caught off-guard.
Rui’s eyes sharpened as he activated Soul Retcon, increasing his mastery of the powerful technique.
In his mind, he had spent half his life mastering the technique.
Just for this very moment.
He deactivated Megamind, instead activating Hypertrophic Surge and Neo Godspeed, before unleashing a maelstrom of blows upon the Dragon Emperor.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!
The Dragon Emperor roared with pain as Rui blasted his abdomen with a myriad attacks back to back. Each blow was heavier than the previous one as Rui grew more and more accustomed to landing attacks of the sort within the depths of the Great Void Ocean. The Dragon Emperor’s yellow, reptilian eyes grew bloodshot with pain as Rui ravaged his body with blow after blow, growing more and more powerful with each passing moment.
RUMBLE!!!
The oceans around them shook as the Rui unleashed a vast amount of energy, torrential waves across the world with each blow. While the environmental impact of his attacks wasn’t as devastating as that of the Dragon Emperor, they were still tremendously powerful even by the standards of Martial Sages.
“You are stronger than your mate, Rui Quarrier.”
Chills crawled across his skin as he felt a surge of danger.
Prophecy of the Void showed his death.
WHOOSH
Rui leaped away as fast as he could as the Dragon Emperor’s scales grew brighter and brighter before unleashing a tremendous wave of gamma radiation throughout the entirety of the Great Void Ocean.
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world around them shook as the extraordinary surge of gamma radiation irradiated everything it touched. The sheer intensity of the gamma radiation turned into a wave of pure force and heat, able to ravage and vaporize solid matter into irradiated vapor.
Beholding the astronomical power of the gamma radiation that the dragon unleashed made it clear that no organic lifeform could have possibly survived being irradiated by something like that.
Not even Rui.
The counters that he had come up against the Dragon Emperor’s vaunted power of gamma radiation relied on the environment of water. He pushed his Water Breathing to the very limit, while maximizing Hypertrophic Surge, and bent the Water around him.
He altered the optical density of the medium around him. In doing so, he could cause the gamma radiation to refract as it came closer and closer to him. Electromagnetic radiation slows down when entering a more optically dense medium, causing it to bend.
Thus, he could use a hydro-lensing to divert gamma radiation away from him.
RUMBLE!!!!!
Rui gritted his teeth as the gamma radiation passed through him, sweeping over the land at high speeds. The hydro lens that he used to defend himself diverted ninety-nine percent of the gamma radiation that the Dragon Emperor released.
And even that had been nearly more than what Rui could tolerate.
He vomited in the depths of the ocean as his body shivered from the immense gamma radiation while he gazed at the Dragon Emperor with an expression of shock.
The deepest depths of the Great Void Ocean that they were within was so dark that the glowing scales of the Dragon Emperor were the only source of light. Surrounded by endless darkness, Rui gazed at the ominous, glowing red dragon with a grave expression.
Knowing about the gamma radiation was one thing.
Even seeing a bit of it from a distance was one thing.
But actually experiencing the gamma radiation was a whole other thing.
Rui couldn’t help but wonder just how devastating that attack alone was going to be for the environment, the biosphere in Gaia. Of course, the technology of the true world was more than powerful enough to deal with. Especially when they knew that a madman of a dragon possessed such immensely powerful gamma radiation, but it illuminated just how destructive the Dragon Emperor was. If left to his own devices, he could wipe out all life in the world with his gamma radiation, spreading it everywhere until Gaia was reduced to a barren radioactive graveyard.
In that moment, Rui’s determination grew stronger.
Rui’s resolution renewed with even greater conviction.
“You must die today.”
His tone was fierce.
The pitch-black darkness bore deep into the yellow, reptilian eyes of the dragon.
“I will make sure that you never harm the world with your power ever again.”
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as Rui pushed himself to even greater heights as the two powerful beings charged at each other with ferocious bloodlust. Gaia held her breath as she watched the two greatest warriors of their species fighting each other in a battle that was bound to leave many a scar upon her body.
