The Martial Unity - Chapter 3536: The Giant Charge

Chapter 3536: The Giant Charge
RUMBLE
From the depths of the land of Samarkha, giants began jumping off the far east coast facing the Great Void Ocean in the darkness of night. Each step they took shook the world, sending tremors across their land. Their bodies were titanic, making the splashes of water from their plunges off the cliffs of Samarkha resemble tsunamis.
“Head forth, my brethren.”
A masculine voice from the depths of the continent emerged.
A giant covered with the pelts of his prey sat upon a throne crafted from rock. In his hand was a spear made from invintium, his solemn weapon. His hair was long and braided, while his skin was a deep black.
From a titanic distance away, he saw giants deploying into the Great Void Ocean in the dark chill of night at his command.
“Head forth and gather the negatron matter that lies at the depth of the ocean,” he commanded with a gallant tone. “Consume them and master this power for yourselves!”
RUMBLE
His eyes sharpened as more and more giants descended into the depths of the Great Void Ocean. “With this priceless resource, we will finally be able to compensate for our shortcomings. Once we have overcome our weaknesses, we will dominate this world.”
In terms of raw potential, giants were the strongest.
This was not disputed.
Even the most rabidly nationalistic and racially supremacist members of the other five races quivered at the thought of the giants overcoming their impulses and urges and making full use of their minds. If these giants made use of their hunger and innate power while also making the most of their conscious mind and intelligence, then they would be forces to reckon with.
Despite being estimated to be only in the middling of their Giant Path, they were already powerful enough to combat pathwalkers who were much deeper in their paths. This showed that the giants were among the strongest races in the world and had the potential to crush all other races beneath their feet like the insects they were.
And yet, almost as if to counter their incredible innate potential, nature inflicted upon them a hunger that was unshakably tied to that very innate potential, depriving them of being able to make use of the gift of intelligence to the degree that the other species did.
Only one-tenth of the giant species had the degree of conscious control that one would see in the five, now six, homo species of the true world. These giants formed small cities within the depths of Samarkha while their brethren roamed the rest of Samarkha, searching for more food. If not for the fact that they adhered to hierarchy and the command that came from it, they would have long dispersed blindly into other continents and been exterminated by the other races for the threat they represented.
They could not partake in the boons of civilization. Their more intelligent minority could only use them as dumb, but powerful labor.
“With this priceless resource at hand, we might be able to compensate for our shortcomings within technology and civilization.” The lumbering dark-skinned giant seated on his throne sharpened his eyes. “With the power of this negatron matter, we can access other suns across the cosmos and feed on them just as our great leader is doing so.”
His giant eyes lit up with excitement at the thought. It was believed within the giants that although consuming more did not sate their hunger, consuming the power of a star could sate their hunger and allow them not only to make use of the rational mind that the other species could, but also to gain untold power.
However, it was very difficult for them to consume the power of their own sun due to the other five species that prevented them from gaining too much of the sun or crossing into the zone where it could affect the amount of sunlight that Gaia got.
“The moment we get our own star, our entire race will feast upon its light and heat, and when we finally sate our hunger…” His eyes lit up with excitement. “We will return to Gaia and crush everybody else. “We will show them that giants are truly the strongest species. With the return of the Suneater abound, we can easily achieve absolute dominance of the entire planet.”
The giants had received news that the Suneater had halted his consumption of the light, heat, and plasma from the sun and had begun his long journey back to Gaia. This, along with the revelation of the presence of negatron matter at the very bottom of the ocean, made it seem like the moment of the giants had finally come.
The defeat that they had suffered at the hands of Mother Maeria was brutal. One that had shattered some of the confidence that they had as a race with tremendous innate power. They had waged an invasion into East Genora and had even experienced some degree of success as the light elves were in a state of vulnerability, having lost a Mother of Nature and having suffered a tremendous amount of exertion searching for Rui within the territory of their continent.
With the return of their leader, they would become stronger than ever, allowing them to withstand anything that anybody threw at them.
“We must be the ones to consume all the negatron matter and then harness it to our use!”
One of the reasons that giants were so terrifying was the fact that they could biologically harness any and all substances they ate. Even the small amount of esoteric matter that some of them had gained and managed to retain when escaping from Panama had been properly integrated into their physiology and gave them magical properties.
That was why they had no doubt that the giants would be able to master negatron matter.
“Then, we will have the power to leap to the stars and consume the cosmos!”
RUMBLE!
The world shook with his laughter and the marching giants that plunged into the depths of the Great Void Ocean.
