The Martial Unity - Chapter 3540: Preserving Inevitability

Chapter 3540: Preserving Inevitability
“The giants and tekvores are racing to the Great Void Ocean; we can’t afford to fall behind… and then there’s this NOVA crisis that we need to be careful of as well.”
Within the depths of an isolated chamber, several evolutionaries sat around a round table. Their attire was militaristic, composed of tight dark gray uniforms with several badges, crests, and medals across them, featuring the coat of arms of the Evolutionary Army on the chest.
Their bodies were greatly transparent, even if not perfectly invisible like their late leader.
Before them were a series of reports on the recent environmental shifts of the Great Void Ocean, as well as intel reports on all of the various movements from other civilizations, especially the giants and the tekvores, who seemed to have undergone tectonic shifts.
“The timing of this negatron mining rush and NOVA’s return is unfortunate.” One woman regrettably remarked, her long transparent strands of hair tied in a bun, while her glassy eyes sharpened. “We are not in a position to expend great military capital in these mining operations. What would have been ideal for us is twenty-five years of peace so that the generation of miracles could have reached adulthood and maximize their transcendent potential. Then, we would be able to dominate the world without any shadow of a doubt.”
The death of Anthea proved to be devastating for the Evolutionary Army. An organization that had extreme centralization of power did not do well when it lost its supreme commander, especially when said supreme commander was one of the top ten most powerful entities on the planet.
The Army had been in disarray ever since Anthea’s death, leaving them largely paralyzed and incapacitated. They had even skipped out on their annual invasion attempts into their brethren nations, preferring to simply consolidate their current power and wait it out.
One of the largest stumbling blocks they had experienced was being unable to rally around a leader who could replace the Supreme Commander. Their battles to determine who was the strongest among the generals directly below the late Supreme Commander had proven to be inconclusive, leaving the Evolutionary Army leaderless.
“The absence of a strong leader who inspires loyalty is proving difficult for our unity.” One man noted with a rough expression. “Our army demands extreme sacrifices in autonomy and freedom, and it promises power and dominance against our enemies in return. Without supplying the latter, we cannot possibly win. This is especially bad because conflict is an outlet for the frustration that the males within our ranks build up.”
Only the strongest male within the army, the former supreme commander, was allowed to breed with the females of the species. In this case, Anthea’s legacy meant that even after he died, the males of the species were denied a chance to reproduce.
It was a volatile environment that was barely harnessed for the good of the army through a powerful leader and constant conflict, both of which they lacked at the moment. The Evolutionary Army would have loved nothing more than hibernating for twenty-five years until their generation of miracles grew up and utterly dominated the entire world with their tremendous power, but the internal pressure was bound to destroy the army if they didn’t act.
“In that regard, the negatron mines are the perfect excuse,” one woman noted. “We can deploy our males, give them an outlet for their frustrations, and cull their numbers in the depths of the Great Void Ocean. We can create an incentive structure for success that can motivate them, perhaps even dangle an opportunity for reproduction with the women. Not to mention…”
Her transparent eyes sharpened. “The mines are actually also very important themselves; let us not forget that just because we have the generation of miracles to depend on in the future. Negatron matter is as priceless as our former Supreme Commander’s seed. We shouldn’t neglect it just because we think that our eventual victory is inevitable because of the latter.”
“Once the next generation grows up and takes over the world with their transcendent might, they will want to conquer more than just Gaia.” One man nodded with an expectant expression. “We must chart the course of the future of the species.”
Ever since the army had gotten its hands on Anthea’s genetic legacy, their psychology had shifted entirely to the future. The chance that their descendants would have the opportunity to become the greatest civilization in the history of the planet was one that they couldn’t let go. Everything suddenly became about the future and the next generation.
These same generals who were selfish underwent radical changes. They couldn’t resist a future where evosapien supremacy was the norm and all other species were crushed and dominated under their heel. It was a future that was so seductive that it evoked complete selflessness.
Even the male generals who would have otherwise enjoyed breeding opportunities decided to forgo it all in favor of a greater tomorrow, while all the female generals in the meeting had plump bellies, carrying children with the transcendent legacy of Anthea flowing through their veins.
“Our mobilization is on schedule,” one general remarked. “Our goal is to simply ensure we gain enough negatron matter not to be left behind, but do not push too hard such that it weakens us any further. As long as we maintain the status quo, our victory is assured.”
The Evolutionary Army’s greatest fear was being weakened so much that the other species smelled blood and decided to destroy the Evolutionary Army once and for all. All the other civilizations were aware of the transcendent generation that the Army was breeding with Anthea’s seed, due to human civilization telling everybody.
This left them in a position where they could easily be targeted by everybody if they weren’t careful.
“Negatron matter can especially make for an opportunity for our enemies to target our newborn miracles and pregnant females,” one female generation noted. “We cannot allow our generation of miracles to fall to ambush attacks; we will need to hide their location more thoroughly in the near future before negatron technology is mastered and becomes a menace that harms all of us.”
