The Martial Unity - Chapter 3549: Insufficient Top-Tier Power

Chapter 3549: Insufficient Top-Tier Power
RUMBLE!!!
The destructive siege unleashed a tremendous wave of pressure that threatened to annihilate everything that stood in its way, Martial Artists and submarines alike.
The sheer force of the destructive siege unleashed a tsunami upon the surface, reaching just a fraction of the power that the Dragon Emperor unleashed each moment.
That alone should have been enough.
And yet, somehow, when Waterweaver opened his eyes, he was still alive.
RUMBLE…
His eyes widened as he spotted giant seaweed before him, protecting him from the onslaught of the attacks.
“The dark elves…!” He realized.
When the Emperor of Harmony signed the armistice and the security agreement with the dark elves, the Waterweaver hadn’t thought that the dark elves would actually keep their word. They were pacifists who didn’t fight until attacked directly, which made the Emperor of Harmony think that they would come to their defense in times of need.
However, even as he beheld the protective seaweed before him, he was glad to see that he was wrong.
It appeared that the sheer revolutionary and priceless resources at the bottom of the ocean, and things that were at stake, were so incredibly heavy that even the dark elves put aside their immense distaste for war and did what was necessary.
It wasn’t just them, however.
A flood of mermaids and mermen emerged from behind him, followed by giant monster fish that charged towards the tekvore fleet.
“The therianthropes of Kiriket!” Waterweaver’s eyes lit up with delight.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
The destructive attacks of the beasts crashed into the fleet of submarine sieges. The powerful biotechnology of these engineered beasts ravaged the hulls and the walls of the giant submarines, threatening to collapse them.
[Hey! You weren’t invited! (ꐦ𝅒_𝅒)]
“Hah…” the giant monster fish leading the charge huffed with a roar of a voice. “Neither were you, NOVA.”
Lord Matsya was the converged beast who led the Fish Clan, making him a force to reckon with in the depths of the ocean.
Waterweaver grinned. “Let’s wreck her together!”
[…Smh, I’m not partaking in this farce. ૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა]
Immediately, the tekvores and the fleet of submarines began withdrawing at surprising speeds, disappearing from the ocean almost faster than they could react.
“Damn, don’t let them get away! We can’t let them think that they can get away with no problems after waging war on us!” Waterweaver roared as he charged after them at high speed.
And yet, it was to no avail.
His eyes widened with shock as what should have been a cumbersome and unwieldy army simply disappeared into the depths of the ocean and from his senses.
A feat that shocked him because of how powerful his senses as a Martial Sage were.
He could sense everything within a thousand-kilometer radius due to the fact that the ocean carried information much better than either heaven or earth did.
And yet, they were gone.
“What…?” he whispered with a stunned expression. “They came and left like ghosts… where they even here?”
The damage to the environment and to the submarine was proof that it wasn’t an illusion, which meant that they somehow were able to completely bypass his senses and surveillance and could approach and leave without them realizing.
“Impossible.” His tone was one of sheer disbelief.
Lord Matsya arrived beside the peak Martial Sage with a knowing expression as his fish eyes gazed deep into the depths of the ocean, struggling to find even a trace of the existence of the tekvores. “I can’t sense them either.”
He spoke in the native therianthropic language, but was able to communicate his thoughts to Waterweaver nonetheless. His body transformed as he too compressed his form into that of a merman, before turning to the Waterweaver with sea-green human eyes.
“Don’t think too hard about it. This is what happens when you’re dealing with a member of the top ten. Nothing makes sense. They’re divergent beings who defy everything you know of what is possible and impossible.”
“One of the top ten…” Waterweaver gritted his teeth. “NOVA, huh?”
Lord Matsya nodded with a serious expression. “She’s a force to be reckoned with. She’s in the same league of absurd as the Dragon Emperor. Frankly, we’re lucky to be alive. It didn’t seem like she was very determined to destroy us.”
Waterweaver nodded with a severe expression as his eyes wandered about in thought. “It felt more like… she was testing.”
Lord Matsya raised an eyebrow. “Testing you?”
“No… I’m not that important in that grand scheme of things.” Waterweaver shook his head. “It felt like… she was testing herself and her people. There was something that was very different about them from before, like they were completely different people from before that they were all one person. Her. But I do not understand what exactly she did to them.”
“If I had to guess… she has managed to take over not only the Imperial Tekvorian Federation, but also all of its pathwalkers as well, most likely through their technology,” Lord Matsya guessed.
It was not easy to tell, for the tekvores, like all other continents, had anti-surveillance systems that made it difficult to spy on them remotely or through their satellite systems.
“So she’s in control of all tekvores?” His eyes widened.
“Directly or indirectly, yes,” Lord Matsya nodded with a grim expression. “She’s going to be a menace in this war. But unfortunately, she’s only one problem that we have to deal with.”
Waterweaver turned to the converged beast leader with a grave expression. “What does that mean?”
“It means that she isn’t the only top-ten member out there,” Lord Matsya remarked. “The Hammer of God, Sentinel Prime, the returning Suneater, Serapis, and the others… they will be partaking in this war as well. Which means that we will have to deal with her along with them when competing for resources.”
He turned towards the Waterweaver with a serious expression. “Mother Maeria cannot directly participate in this war and fight them, and our Dragon Emperor, for better or for worse, is dead. Which means we only have your Dawnbringer for three civilizations, while the others have one each. We are at a disadvantage. In the worst-case scenario, we might get wiped out.”
