Chapter 3641: Reeling Allies In
The Emperor of Harmony was not having a good day. His schedule was jam-packed with meeting after meeting scheduled with different polities and leaders across the true world. Since he had dumped the responsibility of the military defense of the Panama Continent to the newly instated Grand General Edward, he focused on forging alliances with the forces of the true world.
Words couldn’t overstate how important this role was. If not for his timely alliance with the dwarves, they would have gotten absolutely steamrolled by the Evolutionary Army. The dwarves deployed their juggernaut mechs and other superweapons to attack the Evolutionary Army, forcing them to divert a tremendous amount of power to defend against them. Especially when they didn’t have a single top-ten powerhouse who could take on God’s Hammer.
Regardless, the sequences of events triggered by NOVA’s declaration of war had escalated to the worst-case scenario, where the entire world was at war. Among the protectors of the Panama Continent were the elves, who were still limited to support and intelligence for the time being, as well as the dwarves and the therianthropes, who were still lagging in mobilizing their entire nation.
Those who sought to destroy the Panama Continent were the giants, the tekvores, and the Evolutionary Army.
However, the war wasn’t limited to merely the powerhouses.
In just the span of twenty-four hours, countless other major and minor nations had decided to partake in the conflict, declaring war against the Panamic Alliance or one of the three superpowers that were attacking the Panama Continent.
Emperor Rael had rushed meetings, making generous concessions with negatron matter and even some esoteric matter, more than was perfectly ideal. Of course, this was NOVA’s goal. By accelerating the war, she would increase the Panamic Alliance’s desperation for allies, which would force the Emperor of Harmony to make more concessions to get immediate allies who would immediately go to war.
Thankfully, the Emperor of Harmony understood exactly what he was dealing with, dangling just the right carrots to get nations around the world to commit to an offensive assault on their enemies or sending reinforcements to Panamic troops in the Great Nam Ocean on any one of the three major fronts of the war they partook in.
“Sir, your first meeting of the morning is in forty minutes.”
His Royal Secretary informed him with a clinical tone, standing in front of him. He heaved a deep breath as a team of stylists worked on his skin and golden hair, ensuring that they almost glistened in the bright light of the morning sky peering through the windows of his Royal Office.
His attention, however, was focused entirely on the schedule for the day.
It was jam-packed with meetings with various leaders and powers of the true world, including but not limited to the seafolks, the light elves, and, of course, the sentinels, for his next meeting.
While they were far from a superpower, they occupied one of the larger islands situated north of Acherialis with a population that ranked in the hundreds of millions. As hybrids between giants and tekvores, their paths were centered around assimilation of both matter and technology, leading their pathwalkers to develop a portion of the size that characterized giants, and a portion of the technologically integrated body that characterized tekvores.
What was impressive about this hybrid species born from the interbreeding of ancient giants and tekvores was the synergy created between the two races. The size of the giants overcame an important constraint in tekvores, which was the size of their bodies.
Tekvores were centered around a path that assimilated technology into their being, which meant that the limit was the size of their body under normal circumstances.
The size of the giant of half of this hybrid species allowed that constraint to become a lot more liberal, allowing for much greater hybrid technology. On the other hand, the rationalization process that the tekvores underwent as their body became increasingly technological countered the hunger that they had partially inherited from their giant lineage.
It was a hybrid where the strengths of the constituent members fixed the flaws of the other, creating a truly powerful hybrid that even produced one of the top-ten most powerful combatants in the world.
“I must win over Sentinel Prime.” Emperor Rael’s golden eyes sharpened. “Having him on our side will make this war more genuinely winnable.”
Especially since Sentinel Prime and his pathwalkers were able to attack Acherialis from the north, drawing considerable forces away from the Panamic Alliance, and with a top ten attacking Acherialis, NOVA would need to dedicate a tremendous amount of firepower just to keep him in check, making any attack she could mount on the Panamic Alliance insignificant.
Of course, there was no doubt that NOVA was aware of this dynamic; thus, it stood to reason that she was likely attempting to conduct negotiations with Sentinel Prime to try and get her on her side, but the Emperor of Harmony was confident that he could win the diplomatic battle.
The reason was simple.
He had a much, much bigger carrot than NOVA did. He had not only esoteric matter, which he was confident Sentinel Prime would be interested in, but he also had the most precious resource of the day, negatron matter.
NOVA could try, and likely was trying to offer that resource by claiming her eventual victory over the Panamic Alliance, forcing themselves to bring back the sea monsters that were in the Great Void Ocean at the moment, but that was a much less alluring appeal.
There was no guarantee that she would succeed in her goal, and even if she did, it would be a pyrrhic victory after a long war. In comparison, the Emperor of Harmony immediately offering them access to the Great Void Ocean to mine and harvest negatron matter was much more alluring.
“Once we have Sentinel Prime on our side, the battle should tend in our favor.”
Such was the importance of top-level powerhouses. Their enemies had only NOVA, for now, and the approaching Suneater, while the Panamic Alliance had Rui and God’s Hammer.
Emperor Rael’s expression hardened at the thought of his son.
“Where the hell is he?”
WHOOSH
He grew startled as Rui suddenly teleported into his Royal Office in the blink of an eye with the Divine Doctor beside him.
Rui smiled at his father, waving at him.
“What’s up, Dad?”
