The Primordial Record - Chapter 1733: Becoming The Hunter

Chapter 1733: Becoming The Hunter
“What is your purpose?” Rowan spoke aloud, “What do Primordials dream of?”
Pushing his perception past the storm of imagination brewing inside the seed, Rowan proceeded deeper.
As he learned more about the ninth dimension and the power controlled by Primordials, Rowan’s understanding of power was changing from what it usually was.
True power went deeper, not broader.
A single touch from a Primordial was incredibly complex, and that was why their Wills were so unshakable. Everyone else lived their existence on a lower-dimensional scale; only the Primordials could reach the limits of existence, and to understand them and their works, Rowan would have to do the same.
An average immortal would see space, maybe it could be broken, folded, or even destroyed, but how many of them could know there were deeper layers to space and could descend into those layers and find all the weird and profound mysteries therein?
Possessing multiple Origins from different concepts gave Rowan the ability to understand the intricacies of power better than anyone else, and he took advantage of this gift to explore the seed further.
It did not take long for Rowan to discover that what he was looking at was the Origin of Imagination. However, he had been slightly thrown off at first due to the excessive number of supporting runes that encompass the entire seed.
At a glance, Rowan could easily see the four layers of Origin because they had been propped up by countless exotic soul runes, highlighting every piece of its inner workings.
If Eosah’s teachings about Space Origin were similar to a teacher dumping countless textbooks on their student and expecting them to figure it out, what was presented here was a kingdom of numerous scholars, giving it their all to teach one student.
Every single piece of the Origin of Imagination had been broken down and highlighted, and Rowan was flabbergasted by such great attention to detail. How much effort and time had Primordial Soul put in place to create something like this?
With what he had here, Rowan believed he could instantaneously master the Origin of Imagination, but why did it take Nyxara so long to take control of this seed?
Revising all the facts he knew about Primordials, Rowan became dumbstruck when he realized that in some ways he had exceeded the powers of a Primordial.
Previously, he had believed that Primordial Chaos and all the other Primordials had only chosen a single concept in Reality to embody because of the limited amount of Essence that could be found inside Reality.
Maybe in another Reality, Primordial Chaos would become Primordial Time or Primordial Soul, but this hypothesis would seem incorrect.
Delving into the Soul Origin, Rowan had come across multiple remnants of this origin from other Realities inside of it, which suggested that in previous Realities, Nyxara had always been Primordial Soul.
Perhaps the Primordials were not as limitless as he once thought, and they also suffered certain limitations, such as being unable to change their aspect anytime they wanted.
Like a musician who can only play a single song or a child who can only speak a single word.
But wait, what about Primordial Time, who succeeded in becoming the Primordial of Time and Evil?
Rowan shook his head as he considered that perhaps he did not truly succeed. If he did, then the result must have been lackluster, or he needed to pay a heavy price in order to use the power of Evil as a Primordial of Time.
Of all the Primordials he had met, Primordial Time had appeared warped. Not to say all Primordials were normal, but there was something about Time that was almost pitiful, as if he had lost something of himself after trying to become a Primordial of two concepts at the same time.
Realities, on the other hand, seemed to be able to hold the power of multiple Origins, but unlike Primordials, it was hard for them to express these powers offensively, or perhaps the reason Primordials work together was for them to be able to overwhelm a single Reality.
Looking back at it now, it was strange for all-powerful beings to work together when they could easily gain all the benefits if only one Primordial were to attack a single Reality.
From the mouths of Noctis, he had learned that the defeat of Eosah came about not because she was weak; it was her children who opened the gates of her kingdom by peering into Limbo and bringing the corruption and hunger of the Primordials into Reality.
This suggested that if Noctis and the rest had not sought forbidden knowledge, the Primordials would not be able to take down any Reality without a terrible fight.
If Rowan were to explore Limbo, would he find other Realities who were aware of Primordials and had been able to stand against them?
This was an extremely compelling thought and one that needed careful deliberation and execution.
Rowan knew that Primordials fed on Realities for their essence and a chance to become “Primordials.” This was because the term Primordial meant an entity that controlled a concept at the ninth-dimensional level.
What was waiting for him outside Reality could not necessarily be called Primordials; they were an alien existence that seemed to be finding what it meant to be alive only when they were killing and consuming.
Maybe the concept of life as he knew it could only be understood by Nyxara and the rest like her if they became Primordials; without doing so, they would simply exist, eternally hungry, searching for meaning for their existence for all eternity.
Still, it did not mean that they did not have ambitions. Nyxara, Primordial Soul, wanted more from their existence, and she was about to evolve from being the Primordial of Soul to become the Primordial of Imagination.
Unlike Primordial Time, Nyxara’s plans were deeper, and she had sacrificed and made a lot of effort to see it come to fruition.
Her most significant mistake was to involve Rowan in her plans, to see him as a means to an end, to torture and kill the ones he loved in order to influence his actions. Whatever plans she had made in the past, all had fallen before him.
Rowan exhaled and took a step back from the seed. After understanding the metaphysical aspects of things, he began considering what it would mean for Primordial Soul to become Primordial Imagination and how it was related to the other Primordials inside of Reality.
Behind him was a unique tool to thoroughly kill Primordials, and Rowan intended to use it.
Previously, he had been worried about his subsequent battles with the remaining Primordials inside Reality. Even if he were strong enough to kill them, eradicating every piece of them would be almost impossible.
Primordial Soul was one of the Primordials with the least influence inside Reality. She had no domain or bloodlines, her name was almost unknown across Reality, and she had no temples or worshippers. Yet she was able to preserve pieces of herself all over Reality that were drawn into this space before he could finally kill her properly.
Killing the other Primordials would be a thousand times harder, with all the countless tiny influences they had all over Reality, and this was the primary reason Rowan began to change Reality using the essence of Eosah.
He wanted to plant a seed of his power inside as many living beings as possible, so when the end approaches, he could reduce the slaughter that would follow, since he could easily purge the taints of the Primordials inside their bodies, and for those that he could not get to claim Eosah’s essence, he would kill.
However, this altar and the hammer changed everything, and now, with these unexpected tools that he had acquired, how could he use them against his enemies?
The obvious choice would be both Primordial Life and Primordial Time. Both of these Primordials were the ones with the closest relationship with Primordial Soul, and Rowan believed that they must be deeply involved with her plans.
Maybe they did not know the full vision of Primordial Soul, but these two were integral to her success. Primordial Time gave her Eos when he looked into the future, and Primordial Life gave Eos a mother when he needed one.
After being the prey and the hunted from the moment of his birth, Rowan thought it was the right time to begin changing the dynamics.
