The Primordial Record - Chapter 2067 The Fourth Generation (3)

Chapter 2067 The Fourth Generation (3)
For a higher-dimensional being like Eos, Time was not an abstract concept; it was a road, and it only needed the right amount of power to walk that road. If he wanted, he could send an Incarnation of himself into the past, but due to the weight of his Existence, he could not change the future in this manner; it would be highly costly and nigh impossible.
If anyone could observe the river of time, they would see that Eos and certain entities were like massive mountains in a shallow pool, and time could only helplessly flow around them, while the Primordials were like small hills, and everyone else, even the so-called immortals, were being slowly dragged by this river.
Also, if Eos were to go back in time, he would see something peculiar: some of his children were missing, like Andar, and even his mother was gone, leaving only a void.
This happened because the power that killed them came from a higher-dimensional being whose abilities reached across all dimensions and scrubbed them from Existence.
Only in his dimension of Memory were fragments of them kept alive, and if not for Eos preserving these fragments, no one would remember even their names. This was the hidden tragedy that the Ancient Primordials and their ilk caused.
Eos might appear as if he was casually sitting on this throne of stone, but this was far from the truth; he was doing so many other things, and one of his focuses was entering the dimension of memory and hunting down all the names of the dead, and writing them at the foundations of Existence, so they shall never be forgotten.
He had shown Eva a glimpse of this when he took her across Limbo, but that was only the tip of the iceberg.
Eos had been collecting the names of the fallen as far back as his power could reach, but there were just so many more, and he did not know if it was possible to gather them all. He was not going to stop.
Then he saw the bone from Circe’s dreams.
This bone was interesting because it was the first time that Eos had seen the totality of a life in so much detail that it entranced him and shook him to the core, upending all he understood of creation and the soul.
Eos had always believed that he understood the totality of the soul and how it integrates with Existence, but he was wrong; he understood the soul up to the point of Origin, but not how it relates to End.
It was easy to see End as a malevolent force of destruction, but that was because it became corrupted, but End was a part of Existence as much as Origin, and although its primary purpose was entropy, and the dissolution of all things, it still served a purpose.
Eos knew of Soul Origin, but he had never wondered what happened when Soul Origin was totally destroyed… was it entirely gone, or did it become something else?
This bone answered the question that he had not thought about asking.
When powerful beings at the level of Primordials killed anyone, their power over Origin was so great that it could cross all known dimensions and erase everything of their target, including their soul origin.
It was for this reason that Eos could kill four Primordials and not even the Old Ones under their command could remember their previous masters.
This bone showed him the other side of that equation, revealing that a part of the soul, of every soul, was connected to End because everything had an ending point, even Existences, and it was in the total destruction of the Origin that this end point was fully assimilated.
It was as if End and Origin were two sides of the same coin, and this was the natural ending point of all things.
However, Eos knew that End was cheating. It was natural that the soul would return to End if it were eradicated at the Origin, but now that End was pushing for the eradication of all life, the balance between Origin and End had become broken.
This was the first great shock this bone had shown him, and the second came from what he had seen surrounding the bones… he had seen himself, no, he had seen an expression of himself, inlaid in these bones.
Eos was confused at first, it was like a mortal archeologist excavating a million years old fossil and discovering it belonged to his father.
It only took an instant for Eos to place all the scattered facts together and realize that this touch came from his missing Incarnation.
This revealed to him that his Incarnation was not just lost in a place outside of Limbo, but also further back in time.
His age was increasing far beyond the years he had lived, and in recent times it had been accelerating to a ridiculous figure. Eos figured out that the time stream his Incarnation was in was being pushed to the present.
He also knew that the Incarnation should not be alone, and understood that his enemies were not only coming from all corners of Existence, they were also coming from the past as well, and a name entered his mind… Enoch.
Eos had fought his Abomination, and that creature, even without the full consciousness of Enoch, was a truly formidable foe, and after so long, who knew how much this being would have evolved.
Of course, Eos knew that this evolution depended on outside factors, and also burned the lifespan of this creature, which was only because it was not complete, and he wondered if Enoch’s Consciousness was enough to complete the Abomination.
Enemies coming from all sides, and he would meet them all without flinching, Eos swore to the heavens and the earth, and they shuddered because they could not bear the karma of his words.
Eos did not know what his Incarnation was doing, but the message he had sent to him through the bones was eye-opening, and through it, he thought of a daring plan.
If End was cheating, then Eos was willing to do the same. Using the refinement traces he had found on these bones, and linking them with the memories of the fallen, Eos created a loop that would cycle the fallen from all over Limbo, stripping them of the touch of End that had been integrated into their Origin and pulling them into the ten thousand Origin Realms.
For this to work, he needed the power of the Origin Ouroboros and the growing Will of all life inside the Origin Realms.
