The Werewolf's Vampire Mate - Chapter 633 - Acceptance
Chapter 633 – Acceptance
Jabi
Those words came out of my mouth and the certainty kicks in.
I am ready for this.
"You have school.'' He reminds me.
I nod "I will juggle both."
The determination in my eyes and the sound of my voice must be evident to him right now. I don't even know what has come over me right now. I didn't even want to talk about this big elephant in the room for a long time. I have been silently praying that I wouldn't end up pregnant because just like he said, I wasn't ready for it.
Until now, I am still scared.
"It's a lot. It affected Lanis in ways that you can't imagine."
He is trying to let me know of the cons of this but I have already thought about them. For a whole year, I thought about how this would affect me. How it will mess with my bod, my mind, how it will mess with my school and life but right now, all I can imagine is a mini Darrien.
A boy or a girl.
I don't mind either. He presses his leg on the accelerator and I watch him. He is thinking about this again. I knew when he stopped thinking about the chances. It is so easy for me to read him. I know how him like I know myself and I know that just like me right now, this is something that he wants.
He just won't say it out loud because he doesn't want to push me.
He is only thinking about me.
"I want this baby. I am ready for everything that is going to come with it,'' I squeeze his hand even tighter. He is trying to keep his eyes on the road but I see him, watching me. He doesn't know what to say.
"Okay, okay.' he repeats, a slow smile forming on his face.
There is no certainty that I will even get pregnant. Yeah, I wasn't ready before but we were not taking any precautions. He wasn't using a condom to avoid it. We didn't just talk about it and it didn't happen. I don't know what that means but now that I am ready for it, it is a thought that is on my mind.
"Don't think too much about it now, it will happen when it is meant to happen,'' he interrupts my thoughts, reading my mind.
I smile at him as the car stops in front of the gate that leads to the community. We both get down from the car and I hear the music from the party. The miracle babies. The next leaders of the pack. Beau and Lanis have treated them like I would have expected. The love they have for those kids is unbelievable.
"There is a good thing about us knowing what we want now,'' Darrien walks over to me and pulls me closer to him. My back hits the door of the car as he leans even closer.
"What is that?'' I smile, playing along.
The excitement on his face makes me happy. I like that I am the only one that can make him this way. I have always been the only one that he shows this side too.
"We can have all the sex we want,'' he whispers into my ear. I am so focused on him that I don't hear the footsteps of someone.
"Get a room,'' I turn away from Dar as Rex walks over to us with a couple of bags in his hands.
"We will, in fact, why don't we just skip the party and go start,'' Dar says completely ignoring the fact that Rex is next to us. His lips press into mine before I can even stop him and for a second, I get lost in him.
"You know Beau will kill you if you skip, in fact, he has been looking everywhere for you,'' Rex interrupts us again.
This time, I rest my hand on Dar's chest to stop him from being so horny. He rolls his eyes as he pushes his head backwards in frustration "Dude, get away from here,'' he glares at Rex but Rex is used to Darrien's snaps.
Everyone is used to him.
At first, I thought he wouldn't be able to handle staying in the community. He is not used to rules, even till now, he still would do only what he wants to do but everyone seems to love him. He is the most reliable person I know and they all feel the same way about him too.
He has become such a family person that it is still weird to believe sometimes.
"Well, you were supposed to be on alcohol duty but as usual, you forgot,'' he raises his hands up and I see the bottles inside the bags.
"Alcohol? Isn't this a kid's party?'' I ask in confusion.
Darrien laughs "Oh, we don't have kids. Beau and Alanis are the only ones that should go to bed with their babies. We are having a party,'' Darrien smiles. I didn't know about this plan.
"Rex, how did he put you up to this?'' I ask him.
He shrugs "Does Darrien put anyone up to anything," he laughs walking away from us and into the house.
"Are you having a party?'' I ask him.
He shakes his head "Just drinks, not a big deal,'' he shrugs but I know what this means. He is going to be drunk and I know drunk Darrien, everyone loves drunk Darren—well, except me.
"Come on,'' he tells me as he slings his arms over shoulders, pulling me closer to him. We walk into the compound and the music gets louder. I see the bouncy house and I see the kids. Beau is holding one of the twins as we walk over to him in the crowd.
"Finally, you are here,'' he shouts through the noise.
I smile "Sorry I was late. Had classes,'' I tell him.
He nods.
"Yeah, don't be a stranger and have fun, it is a party after all." He smiles at me but my eyes shift to his kid in his arms.
A child.
My child.
That sounds so nice.
