Chapter 656 – The End Part 1
Months later.

"Wake up Beau,'' I nudge him for the tenth time this morning. I have been awake for a couple of hours now and somehow, he has decided to be stubborn this morning.
"In a minute," he grumbles into the pillow. His face is covered with the duvet but I can just imagine the frown that he would be carrying on his face.
A lot has been going on. Today, we have to go back to my old house. I call it my old house because the community is my new family. I can never forget where I came from but I am loving who I am. There was a joint decision to wake Belis and Dru. We didn't know how long they needed but we felt that it was time. A lot has happened. I didn't want them to miss the whole family while they were asleep. They need to get to know the twins. They need to watch them grow.
I know father agreed to this because of me.
He could see that I wanted my whole family to bond with my kids and it might be a little selfish but I am sure they are ready.
"You said that thirty minutes ago.''
He sighs.
I laugh as I walk out of the room. Beau stayed up late last night and I wish I didn't have to wake him up but I do because I don't want us to be late. I walk out of the room and I can hear the kids in their playroom. The television is loud and I recognize their favourite cartoon playing. I walk into the kitchen because I need to make breakfast for them.
Like I do every morning.
My routine is something I look forward to. Waking up every morning and taking care of my family, gives me a kind of joy that I didn't even know I needed. I wouldn't trade this for anything. This life I have created—the perfection of it all. It brings me joy that I don't ever want to lose.
"Yo, you guys ready?'' Darrien walks into the kitchen just as I am setting the table.
We are at this point in our relationship where he doesn't even knock. He is so comfortable with my family that it makes me happy.
"Beau is still sleeping. I want to get the kids ready and then have breakfast with them.''
He frowns "Do you guys ever actually keep to time. I have a kid too just so you know," he walks over to the fridge comfortably and grabs a bottle of blood. "Go and wake your man up. You know father doesn't like it when we are late for stuff,'' he gulps down the liquid but I nod and leave him in the kitchen.
I branch by the twins' room and Colin looks up from the book he is reading. I don't know how he can focus on the noise from Colm's cartoon.
"Hey kiddos,'' I walk over to him as he drops the book on his bed.
"Good morning papa,'' he greets me with a slight smile on his face as I ruffle his hair playfully.
Colm runs over to me and I carry him off the ground as I start to slobber him with kisses. At home, they always show me that they will always be my babies but when we are in public, it is a different story. They wouldn't even let me touch them.
"Did you guys sleep okay?'' I ask both of them and they nod.
This is my ritual. I come to their room. I ask them about their night and then I take them to the kitchen "Breakfast is on the table, why don't you go start without dad and I,'' I tell them because I still need to wake Beau up. I know he will still be asleep when I get to the room.
He is just too stubborn.
I walk out of the room with the twins and they go in the direction of the kitchen. I know Darrien Is still there. So they will be fine.
Once I get to my room. I see Beau still plastered on the bed. The covers are around his waist and this time, I can see his face.
"Beau,'' I call his name.
Silence.
I know he can hear me, his hearing is impeccable.
"The house is on fire," I say louder. I should be annoyed with him because I already told him about it but I can't help but smile as he covers his face, in a way to block my voice out. He will take this stubbornness all the way and I will match it with mine.
I climb the bed and pull the covers off him "Our house is burning and you want to sleep through it. Aren't you supposed to be the Alpha?'' I smile as he squints his eyes closed. He doesn't want to wake up but he needs to.
"I don't smell any fire,'' he mutters groggily.
"Wake up,'' I climb on top of him. My hands wrap around his waist.
He groans loudly "Is there any way I can be absent for this?''
I shake my head. He opens his eyes when he doesn't hear me "You have to be there. You are my partner. My husband. This is an important moment for the family.'
"I don't even like your brother and I am tired.'' He sighs, sitting up on the bed with me on top of him. I place my legs in between his body as he grabs unto my waist.
"I like my brother and we haven't seen him in six years."
"Just wake up."
He smiles. His eyes suddenly focus on me. For the first time since I have been trying to wake him up, I see him actually look at me. "Hi handsome,'' he pulls me even closer.
The sleep is still in his eyes but there is this intensity in them that makes my skin crawl in a good way. I lean forward because I can't resist him—not like I even want to. Slowly, he presses his lips to mine and suddenly the morning seems brighter than it did a second ago.
He makes everything brighter.
