- Chapter 635 Negotiating With Overlords
At the edge of the Aeon Plane, Nyx and Sira looked at the overlords of the Dimensional Alliance with cold eyes.
“What happened to you two? Did you detect a tier 13 dark beast?” Elvian asked solemnly.
“Nothing,” Sira muttered with a murderous look.
Having just received the news that Maximus possessed the Dimensional Source Physique, she was as shocked as everybody else.
To the Zerg, who had an unlimited need for energy, Maximus was more than a living treasure.
If she had known sooner, she could have kidnapped this kid.
By now, she might have already produced hundreds of Absolute broods.
“What’s the problem? You’ve been looking like you want to kill us,” Ascelon asked, noticing their thick killing intent.
“It’s the Holy Physique. We just got the news,” Nyx said without hesitation.
Looking at their expressions, it was obvious these bastards already knew about it.
They had probably even hidden it from them.
Otherwise, how could news about such a physique be concealed from them until now?
“Oh? You just found out? We thought you had known long ago,” Ascelon shrugged.
“This brat has been causing a commotion in the Dimensional Alliance. We assumed you had already investigated his origin,” Elvian added, playing dumb.
“Is that so?!”
Ready to fight them to the death, Sira and Nyx’s auras exploded.
Thinking of the strange actions of the Dimensional Alliance over the past million years, it was obvious they were already eating this cake.
With most of the Masters of the Ocean of Law on seclusion, their intentions couldn’t be clearer.
Once a large number of absolutes appeared from the other side, the Devourer Faction would exist in name only.
These hypocritical bastards already controlled the most fertile land in the Aeon Plane, yet they still wanted more?!
“It’s only been a million years. This is our luck, having such a monster born in our land,” Frir reasoned.
With Maximus being born in their territory, wasn’t it normal for them to taste it first?
“You old guy, do you want to butt in on this?” Nyx warned.
“No, I just want to tell you that instead of taking it out on us, why not kill a few more dark beasts?”
“Tsk, what a boring guy.”
Hearing such reasoning, their anger dissipated a little.
Anyway, their clones were in the Skjǫldrún stronghold now and could directly negotiate with Maximus.
Not wasting time, they hurriedly controlled their clones.
…
At the Skjǫldrún Stronghold, in front of the Shadowcrest Residence’s gate, three individuals couldn’t help but look at each other.
With the same interest, they didn’t need to say a word to unite.
Looking at the gate before them, Zar impatiently knocked.
“Maximus, I know you’re here! Come and fight me!”
“Let’s see what’s so great about that so-called Holy Physique!”
Hearing the news about Maximus possessing the Dimensional Source Physique, he wasn’t as thrilled by the prospect as the others.
There was only an overflowing interest as his prey became more unique.
Seeing the gate slowly open, Zar couldn’t help but clench his fists in anticipation as Nyx and Sira watched from the side.
“Welcome to the Shadowcrest Residence! My husband already expected you,” Skye greeted.
“You are?”
“I’m Maximus’ wife, Skye. Please forgive me for the late introduction.”
“I see. Are you strong?! Do you want to spar?” Zar asked excitedly.
Although the lady before him didn’t exude a formidable aura as strong as Maximus, since they were from the same family, she should be strong.
“Don’t be rude to the lady. Are you Void Beasts this ungentlemanly?” Sira chided, hearing such words.
Designating Maximus as the holy treasure of the Zerge race, she couldn’t let anyone insult him in her presence.
“I’m just asking,” Zar rolled his eyes, not daring to go further.
After his fight with Nyx, he had also tried to attack this woman. Unfortunately, he only received a worse beating.
Even now, although his injury had healed, it still ached.
“I’m not as strong as Lord Zar. Please forgive me for declining,” Skye replied politely.
“Don’t mind that rogue. His mind is only filled with fighting and killing,” Sira comforted Skye, taking her arm and asking her to lead them.
“Must be because he’s overdue,” Nyx muttered silently, glancing at Zar, who was born in their generation yet acting like a reckless child.
“What are you looking at?!” Zar asked defensively, quickly following the two.
It was still better to fight Maximus; at least he could fight to his heart’s content without getting injured.
Soon after touring the Shadowcrest Residence, they reached Maximus’ lab.
“Husband, I brought the guests,” Skye announced.
“Hmm, thank you,” Maximus replied.
Like him, his wives were also busy.
Unlike the second and third generations of the family, who were having fun collecting points, his wives were studying ways to end this trial early.
While Maximus was researching how to expand the micro-surveillance bots, they were thinking of ways to defeat and kill an absolute.
With the same configuration and strands of causality to deduce and calculate, they were no worse than him.
Moreover, due to their specialized knowledge, they were even faster and more ingenious in some aspects.
Thinking of his wives’ busy schedules, he invited the three guests to a lounge area.
“You should already know who we are and what we want,” Nyx said directly after taking a seat.
“I know.”
Based on their mysteriousness and strength, Maximus had long known the two were overlords in disguise.
To have such beings visit him could only mean one thing: his physique.
“Tell me the price,” Nyx asked impatiently.
“It’s three ultimate materials per quota,” Maximus replied.
“What?! Didn’t you charge the Dimensional Alliance only one?! Are you discriminating against us?!”
“No, that was the previous price. I didn’t expect one could get ultimate treasures just by killing a few dark beasts. I’m already being generous,” Maximus said truthfully.
Thinking about how he had only charged one ultimate material for the Overlord organizations, Maximus felt at a loss.
If not for fearing these two overlords would feel imbalanced, Maximus would have asked for ten ultimate treasures per quota.
