The World Conquest: Giving Birth To Become A God - Chapter 860: Nine Overseers

Chapter 860: Nine Overseers
“But I want all the rights and control over this project. You only get the dividends,” Maximus demanded.
He was used to doing things his own way, without anyone dictating his actions.
Now that he had the strength and ability, he wanted to avoid any leash even more.
“That’s fine,” Luxion said after a moment of thought.
As long as the plane origin they provided was exchanged for the corresponding Myriad Energy, what did they have to worry about?
At worst, they could end their cooperation.
“One more thing: I want full support, not just plane origin, but manpower, materials, and the help of the Overseers too.”
“This—” Luxion was speechless.
Maximus was essentially asking them to work under him while they provided their salary and shelter.
“Don’t worry. For your personal assistance, you can refuse if you deem it inappropriate,” Maximus added.
“Fine… Is there anything else?”
“No more.”
“Then the agreement…”
“It’s fifty-fifty. We’ll each take half of the overall net gain.”
Satisfied with their discussion, they quickly signed a detailed agreement.
Though it lacked binding power, it was enough for the formality.
Climbing the peak of chaos, their words were more than enough.
Soon, after settling all the details, the two parted in good spirits.
“This is my token. You can take your Plane to the Inner Chaos Region for greater safety,” Luxion said as he disappeared into the chaotic void.
“Is this the Overseer Token? Nice,” Maximus muttered, tossing it into his storage dimension.
Sending an Omni to the Inner Chaos Region for instant transportation, Maximus returned to the Aeon Plane.
—
Shadow Void Land:
As Maximus teleported back to the Aeon Plane, he was immediately surrounded by over ten thousand Overlords.
“How did it go, Lord Maximus? Did you make the deal?”
Before the meeting, even prior to their trip to the Central Planar Chaos Region, Maximus had already shared his plan.
He aimed to turn Shadow Void Land into the hub for all beings in the Planar Chaos Region, using it as a relay to hunt dark beasts for Myriad Energy.
Upon hearing this plan, they were thrilled, as if they were about to conquer the entire chaos.
However, to even start this plan, they needed vast amounts of materials, manpower, and, most crucially, plane origin.
Seeing Maximus’s blank expression, they couldn’t help but feel nervous.
“It’s a success. Now we can move to the next stage of the plan.”
“Haha, that’s great! That’s great!”
“Lord Maximus is truly a mighty God!”
“The second phase is finally underway!”
“I wonder how much profit we’ll make…”
The reason for their excitement was because Maximus promised to share Myriad Energy with them.
As the crucial component for advancing to the tier 13 realm, they couldn’t do without it.
While Plane Origin was also vital, it could only refine their foundation or replenish their energy.
Using it to break through to the tier 13 Archon Realm was practically a miracle.
Unless they possessed talents on par with the chaos, like a plane-level physique, comprehension, or skill, they had to take a shortcut and use Myriad Energy.
“Alright, prepare yourselves. I’ve already requested materials and manpower from the Overseers. Once we reach the Inner Chaos Region, it’s time to work,” Maximus said with a smile.
The second phase of the plan was to expand Shadow Void Land.
It needed to be massive enough to house thousands of planes.
Moreover, as the main outpost against the Dark Beasts, it required not just size but also formidable power and defence.
“Got it, Lord Maximus. Leave it to us…”
—
In the Planar Chaos Hall, the nine Overseers gathered to discuss the cooperation between Maximus and Luxion.
“You’re a terrible negotiator, Luxion. With all that help, we only get just over half the net Myriad Energy?” the Archon of Wealth, Goldenberg, complained.
“Be honest, Luxion. Did you two strike a private deal?” the Archon of War, Valtros, probed, sensing something suspicious.
“It must be! How else could the mighty Luxion just hand us over to an outsider?” the Archon of Power, Ultha, said, clenching his fist as if he’d pieced it all together.
The other Overseers joined in, grumbling that Luxion was trying to dupe them.
Though the cooperation they discussed was indeed beneficial, the returns felt like an insult to their authority.
“This is already the best I can do. Anymore, and I’m sure that man would back out instantly,” Luxion sighed, unbothered by their sarcastic remarks.
Having met Maximus, Luxion was confident he could win in a confrontation, but he knew he couldn’t force him to stay if he chose to leave.
Furthermore, it felt as if the chaos itself was guiding Maximus’s every move.
Opposing him might not only cost Luxion all the benefits but could even implicate him in unforeseen consequences.
Like a raging tide, he could only go with it, not against it.
“Tsk, fine. We didn’t invest much anyway,” the Archon of Creation, Eryos, muttered, not caring much.
For the Overseers, what were mere plane origin and manpower?
With a single word, countless powerhouses would scramble to fulfill their commands.
On the other hand, plane origin was just an energy they had in abundance.
Besides scattering it into the chaotic void to increase the density of chaos energy, most was discarded or given to those below them.
What they disliked was that they’d still need to step in and help.
Though it was conditional and up to their discretion whether to agree, it still didn’t sit right with them.
“Let’s just observe for now. It won’t hurt to try,” the Archon of Space and Time, Aointh, muttered, peering into the future with interest.
“Hmm, let’s see if this Maximus is truly worthy of you yielding so much, Luxion,” the Archon of Destruction, Sunkrith, said sarcastically.
“I hope he can keep his word. If he can gather Myriad Energy, I wouldn’t mind working for him,” the Archon of Life, Feala, said, squinting her eyes with curiosity.
Having decided to watch what Maximus could achieve, they turned to another pressing issue.
“Have you discovered the cause of the sudden anomaly in the Dark Beast Tide?” Luxion asked, shifting the topic.
“No, it seems the chaos itself had an anomaly that caused the beast tide to diverge. In other words, it’s just a coincidence, and we’re unlucky,” the Archon of Fate, Tiara, sighed in response.
This chaos anomaly had thrown all their preparations for the Dark Beast Tide into disarray.
Now, instead of merely withstanding the danger, they had to confront it head-on.
Tiara only hoped that the arrival of another anomaly, whose fate she couldn’t discern, would shift the course of events for the better.
