- Chapter 862 862: Inner Chaos Region (2)

Soon, while the Overseers prepared the manpower and materials for the expansion of the Shadow Void Land, Maximus and his family visited a Tier 13 plane.
Getting to the closest Tier 13 plane, the Altheron Plane, they were greeted by a unique realm of warriors.
In this plane, powerhouses were as common as grass carp in a lake, abundant and densely packed.
Based on the people’s origins, one could ascend to the Tier 11 realm simply by living.
With a little training, one could reach the Overlord realm, a direct path to the peak of what most can reach in life.
Gazing at the ever-glowing sun that pervaded every inch of the land, Maximus quickly understood the essence of this plane.
The sun wasn’t merely a star but a concentration of power from every living being.
Unlike other planes where one could live infinitely upon reaching the Tier 9 realm, here, their life spanned only a thousand years.
Even at the Overlord realm, without overcoming various trials and tribulations, one could live only up to a million years.
This was due to the sun’s power. While it granted strength to everyone, it also harvested them like plants to bolster itself.
With every life it sowed, every death made it stronger.
“This plane is quite interesting…” Maximus muttered, intrigued.
Though cruel, it offered everyone an equal chance.
While empowering everyone, it also puts them in a sieve to separate the worthy and unworthy.
If they passed every trial and tribulation, they thrived; if not, they became nourishment.
“Is that so? Thank you for your praise, Your Highness.” A voice echoed from the surroundings.
“This plane’s master? Who are you?” Maximus asked, unfazed.
Even a Tier 13 plane master was only comparable to an Archon. Having faced Overseers without fear, how could he shrink from someone weaker?
“Your Highness is indeed extraordinary. I am Altheron, master of the Altheron Plane.” A burly man offered a scholarly bow.
“I’m Maximus Shadowcrest, and this is my family. I hope you don’t mind us visiting your plane.”
“No, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. You are my guest,” Altheron said with a smile.
Overseer Luxion had already announced Maximus’s identity to all Archons and plane masters in the Inner Chaos Region.
This included details of their cooperation and the plan they had devised.
In fact, just earlier, Altheron had begun mobilizing his people to extract materials from the Altheron Plane.
This wasn’t about generosity but profit.
Based on their contribution, they would receive a share of the myriad energy once it was harvested.
Investing in the Overseers’ plan was never a bad bet, and even if it failed, it would take Altheron only a few epochs to recover.
However, if it succeeded, he could secure a steady supply of myriad energy, setting a path to his advancement to the Archon realm.
Though he already possessed the strength of an Archon or perhaps even greater, he remained bound to the Altheron Plane.
If he left the range of the Altheron Plane, he would be a mere lamb ready for slaughter, vulnerable to others.
Knowing his future depended on the man before him, how could Altheron not be respectful?
He was even prepared to curry favor to increase his share of the myriad energy.
As for opposition, unless he sought death, it would never cross his mind.
Since Maximus could propose cooperation with the Overseers, who was Altheron to challenge such a man?
—
Soon, with Altheron’s hospitality, Maximus and his family enjoyed their time exploring.
From sightseeing to entertainment and shopping, they experienced everything the Altheron Plane had to offer.
After thousands of years, having had their fill, Maximus and his family were ready to move on.
“Do you have any suggestions for where to go next?” Maximus asked.
As a local of the Inner Chaos Region, Altheron should know a good destination.
“If Your Highness wishes to get a glimpse of the chaos top treasures, entertainment, materials, food, and drinks, the Tatra Plane is a perfect place,” Altheron replied.
“It’s a neutral zone in the Inner Chaos Region designated for trade, backed by all Overseers. As long as you have money, there’s nothing they can’t offer.”
“Oh? Even the Overseers?” Maximus teased.
“You’re kidding, Your Highness. That applies only to materials and entertainment. Of course, if Your Highness had myriad essence, you could probably buy even the Overseers,” Altheron shot back with a grin.
Myriad essence was the key to advancing to the fabled Tier 14 realm.
If Maximus could truly conjure myriad essence, why wouldn’t the Overseers follow him?
“Alright, I’m just joking. What about other places?” Maximus’s lips twitched.
If he ever managed to conjure myriad essence, he’d likely already be in the Tier 14 realm. By then, mere Overseers would no longer hold his interest.
“Another option is the Fernara Plane, which holds all the wonders of chaos. It’s a paradise beyond imagination, dubbed as the most beautiful plane of nature in the Chaos Region.”
“However, unlike the neutral Tatra Plane, the Fernara Plane is overseen by an Archon, the Archon of Life, Feala.”
At this description, most of his family’s eyes lit up.
One plane was a bustling market, the other a haven of nature’s paradise.
Just hearing their names sparked their excitement.
“Are there other noteworthy places?” Maximus asked.
“There are none others. While each plane in the Inner Chaos Region is unique, they likely wouldn’t interest Your Highness.”
“Isn’t there a plane where we can have a good fight?” Max couldn’t help but chime in.
“Fight?” Altheron took a quick glance at the people behind Maximus and understood his oversight.
Maximus might not crave combat, but those behind him thrived on the thrill of a challenge.
“If that’s what you seek, the Arena of Valhalla is perfect. It’s the plane ruled by Valtros, the Archon of War. It’s a plane coliseum where warriors and aspiring fighters hone their skills and ascend through combat.”
“It’s said that if you climb to the top of the arena, you could even challenge the Archon of War for his throne!”
