Chapter 866: Shadow Void Land Expansion (2)
Hundreds of thousands of years later.
After endless infusions of chaotic laws, the Shadow Void Land finally achieved the initial power of chaos.
Now, it no longer needs to worry about the invasive chaos energy, and it could even turn it into pure natural energy.
Anchored in the chaotic void, it also no longer needed to worry about the unpredictable chaotic waves and could stay steady.
“It’s finally done…” Maximus smiled.
Even after using all his power, infusing the chaotic laws into the Shadow Void Land wasn’t easy.
Feeling the tiredness in his soul and origin, Maximus planned to rest, taking his family to visit the other planes in the inner chaos region.
Now that the preliminary work was done, Maximus no longer needed to worry about it.
The Shadow Void Land could already infuse the chaotic law on its own like a living creature, thereby strengthening itself.
The Eye of Maxim could also coordinate all the Overlords and powerhouses working with the Shadow Void Land, which didn’t need any of his input.
If there was any problem or if it needed his attention, he could just come back and check it.
—
Teleporting to the center of the Shadow Void Land, where the Tower of Knowledge was situated, Maximus saw his family still working.
“It’s not done yet?”
“What do you think?” one of his wives rolled her eyes.
Turning the Tower of Knowledge into the Tower of Chaos wasn’t easy.
According to the blueprint Maximus produced, the difficulty was similar to the expansion of the Shadow Void Land itself.
Although there was less work, the skill needed to build it was higher.
“Then let me help you…”
Seeing his family and the others having a hard time, Maximus began to help.
After all, he couldn’t rest alone while the rest were still working.
Taking up his hands, Maximus began to help rebuild the Tower of Knowledge at accelerated speed.
—
Meanwhile, as the Tower of Knowledge was rapidly being rebuilt, various powerhouses began to pour into the Shadow Void Land again.
From the tier 11 powerhouses of the Aeon Plane, to the closest Altheron Plane, to all the other thousands of tier 13 planes.
With the stabilization of the Shadow Void Land in chaos, and the capability of the Eye of Maxim to instantly teleport anyone anywhere, countless powerhouses were eager to help.
Although their contributions weren’t as significant as those of the Overlords, with their large numbers, the progress of the Shadow Void Land’s expansion increased a few notches.
Most of the work in the Shadow Void Land didn’t require meticulous experience or skill; just raw power and the application of law was enough for them to help.
A while later, as the Shadow Void Land was being flooded by powerhouses coming from all planes, Maximus suddenly sensed the arrival of multiple Archons.
“What is happening?” Maximus paused, greeting the arriving Archons.
Although Maximus and the Overseers had signed a treaty, he couldn’t take the arrival of Archons lightly.
Furthermore, he felt two powers shining like suns compared to fireflies.
Without guessing, Maximus was certain these were also Overseers.
“I’m Feala, the Archon of Life. Pleased to meet you, Maximus Shadowcrest…” Feala bowed gracefully, radiating the charm of life.
“It’s my pleasure…” Maximus nodded, unaffected by her charm as he turned to the other Overseer.
“I’m Eryos, the Archon of Creation. In short, we’re here to help you hasten the completion of our plan,” Eryos said straightforwardly.
“What happened?” Maximus asked with a frown.
Besides Feala and Eryos, there were thirty other Archons behind them.
Having two Overseers and the thirty Archons help was too drastic a change.
“It’s the dark beast tide…”
Mobilizing the omnis watching over the chaotic void, Maximus finally understood what was happening.
Previously, after the river of the dark beast disaster broke apart, only a few trickles and streams had headed toward the Central Planar Chaos Region.
Now, in just a short time, these trickles and streams had expanded and merged, forming another surging river of dark beasts.
Seeing it was expanding at a rapid pace, Maximus estimated that in just a few tens of millions of years, the Central Planar Chaos Region would be flooded with these dark beasts.
Once this happened, the millions of planes outside the barrier would surely perish in an instant.
Left alone in the inner chaos, they would be like a rock in the sea, destined to be destroyed in time.
Tracing the cause of such a disaster, Maximus noticed the influence of another Archon.
“Is it the Archon of End?” Maximus frowned.
The Archon of End was the leader of the lunatics from the Black Sigil who worshipped the dark beasts.
He hadn’t expected them to be this insane.
It seemed they truly sought the destruction of chaos, even at the cost of their own lives.
“As expected of Lord Maximus, he quickly deduced what was happening,” Feala clapped her hands with a smile.
“Since Lord Maximus already knows the problem, he should understand why we’re here. The original ten-million-year deadline has been shortened to one million years,” Eryos said solemnly.
While others held the front to prevent the dark beast tide from worsening, they had come to the rear to hasten the plan’s completion.
Though they didn’t know how effective the Shadow Void Land would be in defending against the dark beasts and generating Myriad Energy, they were willing to take the gamble.
As one of the variables that Tiara, the Archon of Fate, had deduced, they could only do their best to turn this variable to their advantage.
“I see…”
Understanding their intentions, Maximus fell into contemplation.
Since they had come to serve as free labor, how could he turn them away?
However, using the Archons to expand the Shadow Void Land was truly a waste of manpower.
Even without their help, the construction of the Shadow Void Land could be finished in two to three million years.
Saving one or two million years wouldn’t mean much compared to the dark beast threat they faced.
“How about this? I have another plan that would not only shorten the construction of the Shadow Void Land to less than a million years but also boosts our chances against the dark beasts.”
“Oh? Please share, Lord Maximus,” Eryos asked eagerly.
“First…”
