The World Dragon's Heir - Chapter 535: Home To Face The Music

Chapter 535: Home To Face The Music
Amie opened the portal home, as she considered this conversation finished, and had no intention of remaining there long enough for the Necromancer to take note of her and start asking questions.
Not all of her missions had been within the borders of Axbridge.
The undead pretended not to know who she was, even though he had been briefed on all of Dominic’s closest advisors along with the message to watch for his presence.
That particular mage was not a concern.
The monster species all flocked to the Wavemates bloodline, and for a while that had made them great friends to the Shersdonian Royal Line. The two outcasts of continental Royalty, representing the nonhumans and the undead, respectively.
Why they hadn’t intervened to stop Dagos, he didn’t know. And he didn’t care to. That was way above his pay grade, and asking those kinds of questions would only lead to answers he wasn’t willing to deal with the consequences of knowing.
So, as the portal closed behind them, he only sent a simple message to the King.
[Prince Wavemates located. He has now returned to Wistover Manor.]
That fulfilled his duty to report without triggering anyone to come looking for answers while he was trying to fix this mess of a city that the Dagos Nobles had left for him.
Dominic stepped through the portal and found himself standing in his own bathroom.
“Amie, is there something you need to tell me?”
The mage punched him not so gently in the back and huffed in annoyance. “I opened the portal directly to the Princess, how was I supposed to know she was bathing?”
From the main room, Dominic heard the maids giggle, then realized they were the only ones in the bathroom.
“You missed by a few metres. She’s in the other room.”
Amie shrugged. “I was pretty close, given the distance. Now, head on out there and embrace your fate.”
There was more soft laughter, and Dominic stepped out to find Alexis standing by her dressing table with a club in one hand.
“Ladies, if you would excuse us for a moment, I believe that we have a few things that need to be discussed.”
Amie laughed and waved at Alexis as she left the room, with the maids right behind her. Whatever sort of foreplay started with weapons was not for public consumption, and if the Princess injured him too badly, Dominic would just heal even if she didn’t heal him with magic.
Instinctively, [Area Barrier] protected his arms and claws extended as the bat came swinging his way, while Alexis continued to smile.
“You.”
Dominic dodged another swing of the bat.
“Do you know how worried I was? Twelve hours. Twelve entire hours I thought that you had been killed in that explosion.
Even Dave nearly died.
And then who do I find out that you’re alive from?
The mages.
The mages found you before you bothered to send a message to tell me that you were still alive.”
Every shout was punctuated with a swing of the club, and Dominic did his best to protect his vitals. You never knew when she was going to get determined and break his barrier.
But the more that she attacked, the more that the more primal side of his bloodline saw it as a challenge, and the more excited he was getting.
Alexis noticed a half second too late when Dominic caught her hand with the club in it, and wings extended from his back. That was new, she had never seen him do that before.
But then, he grabbed her by the waist, and a flap of his wings threw them both on the bed.
That was when she knew that not only was he properly repentant, but he intended to make it up to her.
And that her dress was doomed.
When the sound of splintering wood, followed by a growl and splintering wood, came from the Duke’s bedroom, Amie put up the soundproofing spell around it, and closed the curtains.
They wouldn’t be out until morning.
“I guess that we should probably order a new bed.” The head maid sighed.
“Don’t worry about it, Dave’s nature magic can repair the broken boards. But before you do anything else, I should likely warn you that they are not going to be up early, but they are going to be expecting food when they do wake.”
The maid smiled at the diminutive mage. “Of course. We will take good care of them.”
Alexis laughed as Dominic gave up on finding a way to get her out of her dress, and simply used a claw to cut it at the shoulders and drag her out of it.
This style was intended to be stitched on so that it always fit perfectly and didn’t slide out of position.
“I missed you too.” He whispered, but his voice was that draconic growl that always did strange things to her insides.
How that voice could be so erotic, she didn’t know. But she did know that the instinct-driven side of the Dragonkin Prince knew just exactly what she needed, and she was nearly lost in a haze of pleasure even before he managed to get his pants off, destroying them in the process.

The next morning, Alexis woke to the sound of terrified screams.
A platter of food clattered onto the table as the maid fell to the floor, scrambling backward as a deep growl rumbled behind her.
“Oh, calm down. You know the maids.”
Then Alexis noticed that Dave was waiting outside the door with a smirk on his face.
“Princess, wake the dragon up. He thinks we’re trying to steal his treasure.” The troll insisted.
Alexis reached down, and realized that she was wrapped in a finely scaled golden wing, as well as one strong arm, which she pinched to wake Dominic up.
“Oh? Is it morning already? Hey Dave. Can you come back in an hour to fix the bed? It had an accident.”
“Got it boss. I will have Ingrid fix the bed, she’s better with pretty things.”
