Timeless Assassin - Chapter 1037 Opportunity

Chapter 1037 Opportunity
(Meanwhile, Leo’s POV, The Time Stilled World)
Unbeknownst to Su Yang, in another part of the Time Stilled World, Leo seemed to be having almost the exact same conversation as him and Veyr, though this time his discussion was with one of his newly gained subordinates.
Standing across from him was Shadow Number One, the fox-human operative who had been groomed by Chaosbringer to be Leo’s immediate point of contact/ personal assistant.
“My Lord, it seems like a major event is about to unfold on Planet Helion-6,” Shadow Number One reported, as he finished reviewing the latest intelligence gathered by the Cult’s spy network.
Leo leaned back slightly in his chair as he listened.
“Reports from multiple sectors indicate that several Righteous Faction Gods appear to be preparing to converge there within the coming days.
The exact reason is still unclear, though the rumors mention the discovery of a mysterious artifact.”
Shadow number one continued, as Leo tapped one finger against the armrest thoughtfully.
“An artifact capable of drawing multiple Gods into the same location? That is… unusual.”
Leo said slowly, as-
“Yes, my Lord.”
Shadow Number One replied, his expression turning excited as he moved on to the next bit.
“Our intelligence reports suggest that both Kaelith and Mauriss may potentially visit the planet, which, if true, could give you the
opportunity you have been waiting for to slip into Planet Granada unnoticed.
If both of them truly leave their domains to investigate this matter personally, Granada would briefly be left without its master, creating the exact opening you have been searching for,” Number One suggested, as Leo nodded slowly while stroking his chin.
A few months ago, Leo had assigned the Cult Intelligence Department a very specific mission to quietly monitor Planet Granada and report if there was ever an opportunity for him to visit the planet while
Mauriss was away, and this development seemed like it might finally be that moment.
If the reports proved to be accurate, he could infiltrate Granada and retrieve the final ingredient required to brew the Demi-God Breakthrough Potion, which made this opportunity far too important to ignore.
“Good work… keep it up.
If Mauriss does show up on the planet, I wish to be informed immediately.
Plant a spy there, or do whatever you must to obtain confirmation.
However, I need absolute proof of Mauriss arriving there in person before I make my move,” Leo informed, as Number One bowed deeply, clearly pleased with the praise he had received from his Lord.
(Meanwhile on Planet Helion-6, The Righteous Faction Forces)
The atmosphere on Planet Helion-6 was tense.
Although the protecting forces numbered in the thousands and were composed almost entirely of elite warriors, there remained a lingering uneasiness among them, as if every man present believed that a Cult attack could erupt at any moment.
Across the rocky plains surrounding the central encampment stood
soldiers from nearly every major power within the Righteous Faction. At least a couple of Monarchs from each of the Five Great Clans had personally arrived to supervise the situation, alongside representatives from the Universal Government.
Supporting them were several dozen Transcendent-tier fighters and thousands of elite soldiers forming multiple defensive rings around the heart of the operation.
And yet… none of them felt safe.
Even the most seasoned veterans found themselves glancing toward the dark horizon from time to time, their senses stretched to their limits as if expecting something terrible to appear without warning. Because every single warrior present understood one uncomfortable
truth.
If the Cult decided to attack this planet…
Then the man who would likely lead that attack was Leo Skyshard.
And if Leo Skyshard did show up here…. Then all of them were as good as dead.
Just a few months ago, such a thought would have sounded absurd.
No one in their right mind would have believed that a single Monarch-tier warrior could terrify entire armies of high-ranking
warriors.
Yet that belief had died the day the battle at The Pit had shaken the
entire universe.
Thousands of Monarchs had faced Leo Skyshard.
Thousands.
And he had carved through them like a living catastrophe.
Since that day, the name Leo Skyshard had spread across the galaxy
like a dark legend whispered among soldiers before battle.
The Demon of Omega.
The new Cult Master of the Cult of Ascension.
A man who had turned what should have been an impossible slaughter into a display of terrifying dominance.
Because of that battle, even warriors who had once felt confident in their own strength now found themselves questioning the limits of
their power.
And so, despite their overwhelming numbers, the soldiers stationed on Helion-6 remained tense and alert as they guarded the central structure of their camp, which happened to be a single reinforced
tent.
It stood at the center of the encampment, surrounded by layers of patrol routes and defensive formations as if the object hidden within
it were more valuable than an entire fleet.
As every warrior guarding the area knew the same order.
Protect the tent.
No matter what happens.
“Hey,” one Du Clan Monarch muttered quietly as he stood watch beside another Commander, his gaze drifting toward the tent in the distance. “What do you think it is we’re protecting this time?” The other Monarch shrugged his shoulders slightly, though his eyes
never stopped scanning the horizon.
“No idea,” he replied.
Then after a moment he added with a faint grimace.
“But I really hope it’s not a Cult prisoner.”
His companion turned toward him.
“Why?”
The second man snorted softly.
“Because if it is,” he said, “then I can promise you those madmen will
come crashing down on this place like a meteor just to try and get
him back.”
The first Monarch shivered slightly at that thought.
A Cult rescue operation was the last thing anyone stationed on
Helion-6 wanted to
Because the Cult did not fight like normal armies.
They did not negotiate.
They did not retreat.
When they came for something… they came to take it back by force.
Even with dozens of Monarchs present on the planet, the outcome of
that encounter was something none of the soldiers were particularly eager to test.
Across the encampment, patrols continued to move carefully around the central tent while dozens of powerful warriors maintained their positions without the slightest lapse in concentration.
No one joked.
No one relaxed.
Because the lingering memory of the great battle at The Pit still hung
heavily in the minds of every warrior present.
Such was the impact that battle had left upon the universe.
And such was the fear that the name Leo Skyshard now inspired
across the Righteous Faction.
As even on a planet guarded by some of the strongest warriors alive…
No one dared to lower their guard.
Not even for a second.
