Timeless Assassin - Chapter 1052 Timeskip (2)

Chapter 1052 Timeskip (2)
(Meanwhile, Caleb and Mairon’s POV, inside the valley)
The valley had already descended into chaos by the time Caleb fully joined the fight, as Mairon’s reckless charge had drawn the attention of nearly every Transcendent-tier beast in the vicinity, forcing the battlefield into a frenzy of clashing bodies, shattered terrain, and violent roars that echoed across the cliffs.
However, where there should have been disorder…
There was rhythm.
Because while Mairon fought like a blazing storm, carving through beasts with wild aggression and overwhelming speed, Caleb moved like a shadow weaving through that chaos, his steps measured, his angles precise, and his blades striking only when the outcome was already guaranteed.
As one beast lunged toward Mairon from the side, its massive claws tearing through the air with enough force to split stone, Caleb intercepted from its blind spot, sliding low beneath its guard as his dagger pierced cleanly through the base of its skull, dropping it before it could even complete its attack.
At the same time, Mairon laughed.
“HAHAHAHA!” he roared, as he vaulted over another charging creature, his daggers flashing downward in a brutal cross-strike that split the beast’s spine open mid-motion, while his momentum carried him straight into the next target without pause.
“Keep up, brother!” Mairon shouted as he spun through the air, narrowly avoiding a sweeping tail that would have crushed him instantly.
“I am,” Caleb replied calmly, as his voice remained steady while he deflected another incoming strike with minimal movement, redirecting the force rather than meeting it head-on, before
countering with a precise thrust that severed a vital tendon.
Where Mairon created openings through sheer force and chaos… Caleb exploited them with calm precision.
As slowly but surely, the swarm began to thin.
Bodies fell.
Roars faded.
The ground became littered with broken remains as the last of the Transcendent-tier beasts collapsed under the relentless pressure of the two brothers working in perfect, unspoken synchronization.
Before suddenly…..
*KRRRRRRKKK*
A loud shriek pierced the air, as the Monarch-tier beast that was the king of the valley revealed itself.
“Here he comes…..”
Mairon said, as a massive mutated spider emerged from the depths of the valley, its colossal body unfolding as its many legs pierced through the earth, while dozens of glowing eyes locked onto the two intruders with predatory intelligence.
*FSHHH*
Thick strands of webbing shot forward instantly, prompting Caleb to move at once.
He vanished to the side, narrowly avoiding the binding threads as his eyes tracked the spider’s movement with complete focus.
“Mairon, don’t get caught,” Caleb warned as he adjusted his stance. But Mairon only grinned.
“Relax,” he said, as instead of retreating, he dashed forward.
Straight toward the attack, as the spider reacted immediately to his
movements.
*THRUMM*
Two massive legs slammed down toward him with crushing force, however, instead of dodging, Mairon leapt into them.
*SHINGGG*
His daggers collided against the hardened limbs as sparks burst from the impact, while the force sent him skidding backward across the ground, his boots tearing through stone.
Yet he was smiling.
“Now that’s more like it!”
Mairon laughed, as from above-
Caleb dropped in.
[Thousand Phantom Slashes]
Using the opening Mairon had forced, he landed on the spider’s back
as his blades struck in rapid succession, targeting the joints where the armor thinned, each movement calculated, each strike efficient.
“KIIIISHHHHH–“
The spider shrieked violently.
Its body twisting as it attempted to throw Caleb off, while its limbs
lashed outward in every direction.
“Yep, yep, keep it up big brother….”
Mairon encouraged, as he charged again, this time circling wide, as he drew the beast’s attention while slashing repeatedly at its legs, as he forced the creature to split its focus between the two of them.
*Acidic foam*
*Restrained rage*
The beast immediately became agitated, its attacks now wilder and
more powerful, as it finally committed the big mistake that Caleb had
been waiting for.
“There,” he muttered, as in one fluid motion, he drove both daggers
deep into the base of its central body, piercing through the core with
precise force.
While at the same time-
Mairon leapt.
“DIE!” he roared, as he brought both blades down with reckless power, driving them into the creature’s exposed head.
*SCREEEEECH*
The sound tore through the valley.
Then stopped.
The massive body shuddered once before collapsing as dust rose
slowly into the air, while silence returned to the battlefield once
more.
*Sigh*
Caleb exhaled steadily as he stepped back.
*Crack*
Mairon rolled his shoulders and grinned.
“See?” Mairon said.
“That wasn’t so hard.”
Caleb glanced at him.
Then shook his head slightly. “…You’re insane.”
But despite the words-
There was no anger in his eyes, because whether he liked it or not, his brother’s plan of attack had worked out in the end.
(Meanwhile, Dumpy and Leo)
From far away, Leo and Dumpy watched the dust slowly settle as for a
brief moment, neither of them spoke.
Dumpy’s gaze lingered on the battlefield, as he took in the scale of
what had just transpired, the remnants of dozens of Transcendent-tier beasts scattered across the valley, all of them felled by the combined efforts of two warriors who had only just stepped into their first real mission.
Then, slowly, he nodded.
A deep, approving motion, as a low chuckle escaped him, almost as if
the outcome had been expected all along.
“Lord Father’s children have far surpassed the limits of their peers,” Dumpy said as his tone carried a quiet sense of pride, while his eyes remained fixed on Caleb and Mairon below.
“At their age, very few across the universe would be capable of facing such odds and emerging victorious,” Dumpy continued as he exhaled
deeply.
“Especially against a Monarch-tier threat.”
Leo did not respond immediately.
His gaze remained locked onto the battlefield.
Watching.
Analyzing.
Breaking down every movement, every decision, every inefficiency
that had occurred throughout the fight.
Then-
He exhaled.
“Lots of mistakes,” Leo said flatly, as his voice carried no excitement,
no pride, only a cold, measured judgment.
Dumpy simply chuckled again under his breath, as though he had
expected nothing less from that response.
“I’m doubling their training from tomorrow,” Leo said as his fingers
tapped lightly against his knee.
“This was not good enough.”
He paused briefly.
“I am not satisfied,” Leo muttered.
And yet-
Despite the harshness of his words, the faintest hint of something
softer lingered beneath his gaze as he continued to watch the two boys below.
Because he knew.
What they had just accomplished was extraordinary for their age. But that was exactly why he expected even more from them.
