Timeless Assassin - Chapter 1100 Real Growth

Chapter 1100 Real Growth
(Meanwhile, Within the Time Stilled World, Leo’s POV)
As the months passed since his declaration, Leo remained focused on refining the ultimate move he envisioned, as every passing day brought him closer to turning that theory into something tangible.
Over the course of six months, he managed to solve the most complex portion of the problem, which was learning how to perceive and induce divergence within the time stream at will.
Through repeated trials, he began to understand how the continuous flow of time could split momentarily into two distinct paths before merging back into a single outcome.
From start to end, the entire process lasted only a tenth of a second, and yet within that narrow window, two simultaneous realities could exist at once.
In one stream, he was struck.
In the other, he was never there to be hit at all.
As by using divine essence, he learned how to influence the point of merger, ensuring that the favorable outcome persisted while the other collapsed into nothingness.
That alone marked a major breakthrough, giving him a working foundation for what could eventually become a complete technique.
However, consistent execution of this concept proved far more difficult than theoretical understanding, as the move demanded an absurd level of precision that left almost no room for error.
In real combat, while an enemy was striking him, a delay of even one hundredth of a second during activation could throw the entire sequence off, leading to failure that could lead to death.
Which was why, even Leo, with his absurd speed, struggled at first to perform the move reliably.
Despite his reflexes being among the best in the universe, consistency eluded him as the timing required went beyond the limits of even Divine perception.
As only after layering [Parallel Processing] over his base reflexes did he begin to stabilize the activation, allowing his mind to process overlapping temporal states at once, while not missing a beat in high stakes combat.
“So in the end, my bloodline skill is still relevant after all this time….” Leo muttered, as that realization carried its own weight.
It made him consider whether the [Seconds Walk] had always been tied to the Timeless Assassin’s bloodline, as [Parallel Processing] remained the only ability he possessed that had come from inheritance rather than effort.
Even now, after stepping into the Demi God realm, which had made most of his early skills feel redundant, [Parallel Processing] still remained relevant, as it allowed him to bridge the gap between theory and execution.
As in that moment, Leo realized a truth that he had never really accepted for so long…..
The truth, that in the end, bloodlines did matter in how high the ceiling of a warrior could be.
Some abilities could not be replicated through discipline alone, no matter how much one trained.
And if he could reliably perform this move today, it was because he had the Timeless Assassin’s blood in him, and no other reason.
Regardless, while the bloodline did help him with this first part of the move, the rest remained up to his own skill.
The Spatial displacement bit was still unresolved, as he had yet to determine how to shift position during the merger without disrupting the entire sequence.
While, the integration of creation and destruction posed an even greater challenge, as forming a stable gravitational construct within such a narrow window demanded far finer control than he currently possessed.
Both problems stood separately.
Each requiring its own solution before they could be layered together into something cohesive, as Leo understood that until all three components aligned, the move would remain incomplete, no matter how refined one part became.
*Sigh*
He exhaled slowly, his gaze lowering as he thought about the time remaining.
“Six months left before we move out… I need to push harder,” he muttered, as his resolve hardened once more.
From that point onward, he chose to intensify his efforts even further, committing himself completely to the process, knowing that only relentless repetition would bring him closer to success within the
timeframe he had left.
(Meanwhile Amanda)
Meanwhile, while Leo and the children focused entirely on preparing for the coming war, Amanda found herself grappling with a quieter battle of her own, one that unfolded entirely within her thoughts.
On one hand, she worried deeply about Caleb and Mairon, as the idea of them stepping into real war unsettled her in ways she could not
easily ignore.
The outside universe was not forgiving.
It was unpredictable, hostile, and far removed from the controlled environment they had grown up within, as every scenario she imagined ended with danger looming over them.
And yet, on the other hand, she knew she could not stop them.
She had changed.
Grown past the mistakes she had once made with Leo, as she now understood that shielding them forever was neither possible nor
right.
They were not children who could remain protected indefinitely.
They were warriors.
And sooner or later, they would have to face the universe on their own, no matter how much she wished otherwise.
That realization was not comforting.
But it was necessary.
So instead of voicing her fears, she chose a different path, as she
focused on what she could control rather than what she could not, which was forging adequate protection for her children that could make the difference when it mattered most.
For this, she took over one of the most valuable assets Leo had acquired from the Black Serpents’ vault, a mystical necklace that once belonged to a legendary god armor set.
The artifact itself was extraordinary.
It could respond to threats instantly, shifting across the user’s body
and manifesting exactly where needed, forming a defensive barrier strong enough to withstand almost any attack that did not involve origin metal.
For Leo, it had long since lost its relevance.
He was a speedy enough warrior to never be hit as a Monarch, while
at the Demi God level, his own body and reactions far surpassed what the artifact could offer, which left it unused and available for Amanda
to study.
Which she did, relentlessly.
Day after day, she broke down its structure, analyzing the material,
the flow of mana within it, and the way it responded to external
stimuli with such precision.
Her goal was clear.
She wanted to recreate it.
If not perfectly, then in a form that was enough to give her children
something that could protect them when she could not be there
herself. However, unfortunately for her, progress had been slow so far.
The ancient material was unlike anything she had worked with before, capable of movement and response that defied conventional crafting methods, as replicating even a fraction of its behavior required
precision beyond standard techniques.
Still, she was getting closer.
With each passing day, her understanding deepened, and the constructs she created began to show signs of life, responding to input and shifting position, even if only for brief moments.
It was not enough.
But it was progress. And that was all she needed.
Because in her mind, the deadline was already set.
Before her children stepped into the wider universe, before they
faced whatever dangers awaited them beyond the Time Stilled World, she would finish this.
No matter what it took.
Because if she could not stop them from walking into danger, then she would at least make sure they did not walk into it unprotected.
