Trapped as an NPC in a Dating Sim - Chapter 101: Stampede!

Chapter 101: Stampede!
“Calm down, Elise.”
Fortunately, before she completely sank into despair, Soren spoke loudly, snapping her back to her senses.
He then fluttered his crimson wings behind him, lifting her above the cliff they had just been clinging to.
Once at the top, Soren released Elise from his embrace, his ’Keen Sight’ sweeping over the surroundings.
Only when he confirmed they were safe for now did he let out a sigh of relief and turn to Elise, his expression complex.
“Don’t worry too much. It seems we got pulled into this Instant Dungeon because of that gem from earlier. Since we were close to the campsite, I’m sure Professor Lyra has already sensed it.”
She was a Space Mage after all. Any shift in space and void wouldn’t go unnoticed by her.
Besides, there were still Aurelia and Elara outside, who would surely tell her.
From what Soren knew, as long as they weren’t dead inside, the channel connecting this dungeon and their original place would be maintained.
So, all they had to do now was to wait for Professor Lyra to come and retrieve them with her space magic.
’She should be able to, right?’
To be honest, even Soren was unsure.
But what could he do when he was already inside? He was rather perplexed about who the hell was behind his life.
And was he even worthy to use such a precious A-rank voidstone?
Besides, if the person really was after him, it made no sense to send him here like this.
A person who could throw away an A-rank item like this must have enough strength to just kill him easily.
’Just… what went wrong?’
Soren rapidly began to think about what he had done in recent days that could change the plot trajectory. Fortunately, he hadn’t done much yet.
Besides taking the girls for himself and showing a bit of talent inside the E-rank dungeon, the only significant thing that he did totally outside of the original plot was to increase his class ranking.
’Hero’s Cemetery?’
“Yeah, you are right. Professor Lyra is a Space Mage after all. She should be able to take us out of here.”
Soren’s trance was broken by Elise, whose eyes widened in realization. As Soren said, if it were Professor Lyra, then she could definitely take them out of this place.
In the first place, Elite Hunter Academy couldn’t let them die just like that, not with her background.
After realizing the situation, Elise slowly calmed down and breathed in deeply.
“Then, let’s go and hide somewhere until Professor Lyra finds us. If those monsters return again, we would be in deep trouble.”
She paused, pointing at the dense forest in front, only to feel the ground rumble suddenly.
*Roar!*
Then came the deafening roar, louder than before, followed by an intense rumbling as if thousands of horses were galloping across a huge battlefield.
With the violent rumble, branches snapped, trees exploded into the air, and the ground itself seemed to shudder.
Then, in the incredible eyes of Soren and Elise, the dense forest was directly cleaved in two from the middle before countless monsters surged through the trees, racing toward them, heading directly to the core of the dungeon, just like those flying Storm Drake.
“…”
“…”
Looking at the hundreds of large types of draconic monsters heading toward them menacingly, both Elise and Soren stood stunned in their place when…
*Boom!*
A loud boom echoed from the center of the dungeon, followed by a red fire blazing into the sky.
It was so sudden and strong that the entire world seemed to vibrate intensely, as the clear sky suddenly turned golden yellow from the pure flame.
Soren felt that this explosion was countless times more terrifying than the scenery in front of him.
*Roar!*
However, this explosion did not seem to deter the monsters hurling at them.
If anything, it only made them more excited and mad as they once again roared in unison, increasing their speed even more.
If before, they were still at a distance, now they could already be seen getting closer.
And unlike before, Soren couldn’t even hide while hanging on the cliff, as the sheer momentum of the monster parade would have destroyed this place completely, let alone their feeble bodies.
It seemed that hiding until Professor Lyra came for their rescue was not an option at all, since there was truly nowhere to hide.
No wonder the objective of this dungeon was to finish the race.
No wonder the objective was to reach the core of the dungeon. Now it made perfect sense.
’Sigh… System, use my GAP stat on the skill: Windwalker.’
In the end, Soren could only sigh dejectedly before ordering his system.
—
Ding!
[You used your GAP stat on your passive skill.]
[Congratulations! The skill, Windwalker (A-rank), has evolved by one level into Spirit of Zephyr (S-rank).]

Once again, his form changed abruptly as he felt as light as a feather. The air around him, which had felt external before, now warped around his figure as if embracing its master.
“Let’s go!”
But no matter how incredible and addictive this feeling was, Soren was not in the same mood as before.
Instead, he rushed to Elise in a flash, embraced her waist tightly, and ran for their lives while countless monsters above level 50 chased after them in frenzied madness.
They were so relentless that they did not even care about the endless rift ahead.
They ignored other monsters in their way. They bulldozed through everything, their bloodthirsty eyes fixed on the center of the dungeon, shining with pale golden fire.
It was as if that fire was the most precious treasure in the world. As if they wanted nothing more than to reach the core of the dungeon and claim it for themselves.
It was an absolute frenzy that Soren had never seen before. And the most daring part was that it was happening from both sides of the massive rift with no end in sight.
At least, Soren’s gaze didn’t see the end.
Even though each of these monsters was highly intelligent and many times stronger than him, they seemed completely insane.
In just a moment, Soren saw countless monsters being pushed from behind as they ran along the edge of the massive rift, losing their footing and tumbling into the endless abyss below.
Not to mention the large number of weaker monsters being trampled ruthlessly by the stronger ones.
The moment one lost momentum, it was crushed underfoot, smashed into meat paste by countless monsters from behind.
They could not even cry out.
And yet no one cared. They continued unabated, heading directly toward the core as if drawn by some irresistible lure.
To be honest, it was a total stampede…
…the kind that Soren wanted no part of.
