Trapped as an NPC in a Dating Sim - Chapter 169: Soren’s Plan!

“Soren… thank god you are here. I thought…”
The moment everyone was teleported near the Demon Gate, the first one to speak was Elise, who seemed anxious.
She ignored everyone and rushed toward Soren, speaking hurriedly, only to pause briefly when she came face-to-face with Aria and Sylvia.
For a while, she didn’t know what to say, as their gaze seemed quite… unkind?
Not to mention, why were they snuggling in his arm like this?
Elise turned to Soren in confusion.
“Cough… Elise, let’s talk later. We have important things to do first, okay?”
Fortunately, Soren quickly coughed and brushed aside the drama that was about to unfold.
Well, Professor Lyra also helped him, in a way, as her thunderous voice immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
“Professor Ruther, why did you bring in rookies here? Didn’t I say to bring strong upperclassmen? Don’t you know the danger involved?”
Lyra was completely angry at seeing Soren and his group of juniors in the team.
She needed help, but not from them.
Although the 10th floor of the Abyss was considered low rank and the monsters there peaked at only level 100, it still wasn’t something juniors like them could handle.
For a moment, her anger reached its peak when she saw Ruther just shrug.
“What can I do? Due to the sudden explosion of the gate, the students are spread out.”
“We also need a few of them to guard the camp. It seems some Dark Wolves managed to mutate due to the corruption from the Abyss.”
Ruther didn’t lie. When Lyra gave an order, most students were spread out, dealing with the monsters’ attack.
Although Lyra didn’t let many of the monsters inside the Abyss get out, just the darkness and corruption alone were enough to make everyone sweat.
“You can ask Professor Kael if you don’t believe me.”
Ruther simply pointed at Kael, who nodded solemnly.
In fact, the situation was so bad that he left his pet in the camp to guard the students in case something happened.
He came here only because of Lyra’s summons.
“This…”
Since even Kael nodded, Lyra didn’t know what to say. She just paused, not sure what to do, when Ruther spoke again.
“Didn’t you say the Demon Gate is under your control? Then you can just keep an eye on them for their safety. These upperclassmen can also look after the juniors at that time.”
Ruther shrugged as if it was no big deal and gestured toward six other seniors, all above level 80.
“Besides, since you are a space mage, you can always teleport them out if you sense any danger inside.”
He wasn’t wrong. It was indeed possible. Just… Lyra was strained enough with the event already.
“Sigh… let’s do what you said then.”
But what could she do? She had been maintaining her Space Domain for long enough and didn’t have much time on her hands.
Not to mention, she wasn’t in the state to perform yet another long-distance teleportation.
Ruther seemed to have guessed it, as that was why he had just brought 10 students with him.
Well, Soren and the girls were a surprise, but he wasn’t complaining here.
“Professor Lyra, I have something to say to you.”
Just as Lyra decided to go with the students at hand, Soren suddenly spoke lightly, walking toward her.
His gaze a bit solemn.
’This bastard… what the heck is he planning by throwing all of them inside? Is he… trying to summon a Demon Lord or what?’
Soren couldn’t help but grit his teeth in anger.
Looking at the guy, it didn’t seem like Ruther was being possessed like in the game. But he could gauge what his intention was from the way he was doing things.
That only made him afraid, though. If he really was thinking of summoning Lilith, then…
’No… I can’t let him do that. It seems I have to risk it today.’
Soren decided internally, finally stopping right in front of Lyra and Lysandra, who were both looking at him in confusion.
“Soren, what do you want to say? If it isn’t important, let’s delay it for a while.”
Because it was he who let her know the plan of the Crucible, Lyra was very tolerant as she asked.
To be honest, she was a bit sorry toward her student, too, as Soren probably guessed this happened because of her.
“Professor, it is extremely important. But first, can you tell me why you need 10 students to enter this Abyss?”
Soren didn’t beat around the bush and directly asked, as if curious about their situation.
“Hmm? I just want them to go to a specific location and activate this Void Stone at the same time when I give the signal. Why do you ask?”
Since it was no secret, Lyra replied lightly, only to see Soren becoming thoughtful as he pressed his finger on his chin and asked again,
“Does it have to be at the same time, or would a few seconds of delay also work?”
This was important if he wanted to foil Ruther’s plan. Fortunately, it seemed his luck was still strong, as Lyra simply nodded,
“It doesn’t matter if there is a few seconds’ delay in their activation time. But… who would traverse such a long distance in such a few seconds..?”
Lyra thought Soren was trying to reduce the number of students this way and was about to shake her head when suddenly she saw a colourful Prism appearing in Soren’s hand.
“This…”
In an instant, she halted mid-sentence, her eyes widening in realization. Surprised, she even quickly waved her hand, casting a barrier that shielded them from outside view.
For a moment, Professor Lysandra got even more confused when Soren just smiled,
“It seems you forgot about this artifact, Professor. If I take this inside, how many Void Stones can I activate so that you won’t have any issue?”
Soren asked again while pointing at the S-rank artifact, Dimensional Anchor.
This artifact could allow him to generate 10 anchor points in any location he desired.
After that, he could easily teleport to any anchor point instantly. Although there was a cooldown, it could be reduced to as low as one second if the distance wasn’t too big.
This meant he could easily activate more than one Void Stone, unlike the other students, saving his girls from having to venture into the dangerous Abyss.
