Trash of the Count's Family - Book 2: Chapter 307: Eccentric Power (2)

Book 2: Chapter 307: Eccentric Power (2)
Trash of the Count’s Family
<Eccentric Power (2)>
The end of the Dragon Lord.
“Sounds great.”
Cale gently smiled.
‘I can see a way.’
Dragon Lord Neo.
His greatest weakness was his Dragon heart which has reached, if not gone past its limits.
If they could properly land a blow on that heart, Neo should crumble.
“He is not a god yet. He has not surpassed the limits of the physical body.”
Cale nodded his head in agreement.
“However-”
There was something Cale was curious about.
When he first met the foundation of this world… This was what the foundation had said about the Dragon Lord.
‘Anyway, in addition to absorbing my aura, the Dragon Lord is abnormally strong. Maybe- maybe-’
‘It might not be wrong to see him already as the God of Time.’
Cale was able to learn from Axion that the Dragon Lord had yet to escape the confines and fate of his physical body.
But there was something else he needed to know.
“The Dragon Lord. How did that punk get so strong?”
Did the Dragon Lord get strong because he consumed the foundation of this world?
‘That doesn’t make sense.’
The cataclysmic period was used to pressure the World Tree and temporarily destroy its mind to mess up the flow of the world.
He had to be strong to be able to make such a thing happen even with the help of a god and the wanderers.
Axion had an odd look on his face as he shook his head.
“Who knows?”
Cale chuckled at that reaction.
“Your reaction tells me that the Dragon Lord did not get so strong because of the foundation of this world.”
If that was the reason, he would have told Cale.
Why? Because Cale already knew that they had consumed the foundation of this world.
“Mm.”
Axion groaned.
Cale observed Axion and continued to speak.
“The Dragon Lord got strong using some method but you don’t really know what it is.”
“…….”
Axion used silence to show his agreement.
Cale then said something else.
“Then did he get stronger once he met the wanderer?”
“……!”
Axion’s eyes opened wide.
Cale continued to speak.
“If what I am thinking is correct, I presume it was after he went and met with the patriarch of the Purple Bloods?”
“Ha!”
Axion scoffed.
He was truly amazed.
“Yes. Neo became stronger after going with the wanderer to meet the patriarch of the Purple Bloods and becoming the new patriarch.”
Axion’s eyes stared into the air.
“…When I first saw him like that, I thought that all Dragons become a flawless existence once they are able to perfectly exhibit their attribute.”
‘Hmm?’
Something caught Cale’s attention.
“Perfectly exhibit the attribute?”
“Yes. Human.”
Axion asked Cale a question.
“Why can’t Dragons become gods? And why is it that Dragons are the only ones with attributes?”
He answered the question himself.
“Dragons are mini gods.”
“Mm.”
Cale groaned.
Axion’s gaze was too serious for it to be a joke.
“Gods are worshiped. Dragons are also worshiped.”
Dragons were gods in Aipotu, but…
Dragons were worshiped even in dimensions where that was not the case.
“Gods have their special powers and Dragons have their special powers.”
Cale stopped listening and commented.
“But gods don’t perish while Dragons die.”
“That’s right. We die like you humans.”
Axion quietly laughed.
“We are quite a peculiar race.”
He laughed as if he found it to be funny before continuing.
“Neo once told me something.”
He changed the topic of conversation back.
“When a Dragon can perfectly exhibit their attribute, that alone already makes them a god.”
“But based on what you are saying, the Dragon Lord is unable to perfectly exhibit his attribute?”
“Yes. I asked Neo how to do that when he first told me. I asked him how I could become like him.”
Axion’s gaze fixated toward the shadow in the corner of the study as if he was recalling a past memory.
“But he told me that he was still far from it. He did tell me there were two ways to do it.”
It was a memory from his youth.
“I obviously asked him to teach me.”
He wanted to become stronger. That was why he asked this question.
“And?”
Cale urged him and Axion answered without any hesitation.
“The first way is to destroy the concept of their limits.”
“Concept?”
“In simple terms, he said that we need to destroy not the physical limits of our body but the mental limits of our mind. For example, if I keep destroying this thought in my mind that the size limit of earth I can handle is the size of this lair, I will eventually be able to handle the earth in this entire world.” ɽÀꞐÓᛒĚṦ
Cale was silent for a moment before asking.
“…What the hell?”
‘What is he talking about?
Would something like that be easy?
The mental limits of the mind is even scarier than the physical limits of the body.’
Cale looked unsettled.
‘I asked him because I thought it might be helpful for Raon.’
Cale was fine with Raon not being able to properly exhibit his attribute, but… He had asked Axion for potential clues because he felt like Raon cared about it a lot.
But what he heard was not something that would be helpful for Raon.
‘I’ll still tell all the Dragons about it.’
He planned on revealing all of this information to the Dragons on his side.
Axion agreed with Cale’s reaction.
“My thoughts exactly.”
He shrugged his shoulders, sighed, and continued.
“How do you destroy the limits of the mind, and even if you manage to do so, how do you get past the limits of your body and your innate talents? Concepts, limits… I couldn’t figure that out so I wanted to know the easy way. I asked Neo to tell me.”
“And?”
Cale looked interested again.
It was an expected reaction for someone like Cale, who had chosen to get stronger by gathering ancient powers.
Axion looked at him and chuckled.
“So, the Dragon Lord told me that he chose the second method. He only said one thing about it.”
‘Hmm?
One thing?’
Cale’s face turned unsettled again, but Axion didn’t care as he continued.
“At first, I couldn’t understand Neo’s answer. But now, I can vaguely make out that answer.”
“What did that bastard say?”
Axion stared at the curious Cale before slowly opening his mouth.
“Succession.”
Cale staggered at that moment.
Inherit and carry it forward.
Succession.
“Cale Henituse. Neo was not purple from the beginning. He was originally a silver Dragon who looked almost white.”
“Ha.”
Cale scoffed.
The Purple Bloods.
A Dragon who turned purple…
And the attribute of ‘time.’
Cale smiled as he spoke.
“I guess there was a reason the wanderers from the Five Colors Bloods went searching for the next patriarch of the Purple Bloods?”
“Yes. I believe there was a reason.”
Cale and Axion had the same thought.
Cale spoke first.
“Although we can’t be certain.”
“Yes, we can’t be certain.”
“There are no two Dragons currently with the same attribute.”
“But there may be dead Dragons with the same attribute.”
One of the Dragons that existed but died in the past had the attribute of time.
If the power of those Dragons, the power of that attribute was inherited and inherited again-
Cale commented, almost in a sigh.
“The Dragon Lord would have inherited time.”
No, the patriarch of the Purple Bloods would have succeeded time.
Cale nodded his head and leaned back against the couch.
“Then that abnormally strong power makes sense too.”
“That’s right. Of course, this too is not verified information and only a hypothesis.”
Axion’s voice trailed off.
He called it a hypothesis but he sounded quite certain.
There was a reason for that.
“That wanderer showed up again before the cataclysmic period.”
The woman that had taken the Dragon Lord to the last patriarch of the Purple Bloods…
“I do not know what she discussed with Neo. However, Neo became quite angry that day and I had to see her off on my own.”
Axion recalled that moment.
‘Do your best to help the patriarch not be so angry.’
The wanderer said that and did not hide the usual relaxed smile she always showed him.
She was extremely calm despite Neo shouting in anger in the distance.
That was the reason for it.
Axion asked this guest, someone he could not welcome, a question he would not usually ask.
‘Did something happen to him?’
‘Hoo hoo.’
She laughed a while without answering before quietly looking at Axion and saying something before she left.
‘His power gets stronger but his plate remains the same. In the end, it makes the plate crack even faster.’
Axion shared those words with Cale who nodded his head.
“I guess Neo’s body had no choice but to get weak. He had inherited an unbelievable power.”
“Yes. That is why it is highly likely that he cannot handle it properly either.”
Axion stopped for a moment before continuing.
“That is probably why Neo is preparing to go to the New World.”
“But why would that wanderer tell you something that might end up as such a hint?”
“Pfft.”
Axion chuckled before telling Cale what the wanderer said next.
“Once we get to the New World, we need someone to rule over than land. When it comes to land… Aren’t you number one?”
Cale chuckled as well.
“I guess she planned on planting you as the Dragon Lord of Aipotu once Neo died.”
‘It’s possible.”
“Haaaaa.”
Cale sighed and shook his head.
‘I really can’t understand those Hunter bastards.
Do they not know the concept of an ally?
Does it not matter if they kill each other or betray one another as long as they reach their goal?
Well, what would be the point of understanding their thought process?’
He had no need to understand them, and spending time to do so would just be wasting his time.
Cale stopped thinking and extended his hand toward Axion.
Axion shook his head.
“What are you doing?”
Cale immediately slapped it away.
“…Were you not asking for a handshake?”
“Ho.”
Cale scoffed in disbelief as he answered.
“The map.”
‘A handshake my ass.’
“Hand over the map of the Dragon Lord’s lair.”
“Ah.”
Cale didn’t care that Axion blankly gasped and calmly opened up his palm.
Hand over the map.
* * *
Cale’s steps were light as he walked to the rear garden of Axion’s estate with the map that showed the location of Dragon Lord Neo’s home.
To be more specific, he was going to the World Tree.
“Human!”
Raon welcomed Cale.
There were quite a lot of individuals by his side.
“What happened?”
Cale answered Eruhaben.
“Ah, I was going to use the World Tree to chat with the foundation of this world-”
Cale flinched.
‘Huh?’
Time was flowing slowly.
No, time suddenly became longer.
Flash.
Cale looked past Eruhaben’s shoulder to see a pillar of light shooting up in the distant sky.
He wanted to take a closer look.
He tried to move to do that, but…
‘Mm.’
He could not move.
He had to use instant.
But instant was not a power he could just use without thinking.
Cale barely managed to stop himself and he could feel the world moving normally again once the pillar of light disappeared.
“Human!”
Raon approached in shock.
“Did you see that?”
“Yeah. I saw it.”
Eruhaben was confused by their conversation and Cale explained.
“The Dragon Lord used time to cast a spell again just now. But I can’t tell what kind of spell it was.”
“…….”
Eruhaben’s face turned serious.
Cale felt sweat dripping down his back.
‘How crazy.
I know his weakness, and I can see a way to fight against him, but…
The problem is-
The enemy is moving as well.’
The Dragon Lord…
That bastard was definitely up to something as well.
He was doing so with at least a decent amount of information about Cale Henituse.
Gulp.
Cale couldn’t help but gulp.
He felt tense for the first time in a long while.
But he was not scared.
“First.”
He started talking to organize his thoughts.
“Turn the world into chaos.”
Eruhaben flinched while Raon’s face lit up.
For reference, the two Dragons were not the only ones to hear him.
Everybody close to the World Tree had heard him.
Cale didn’t care and continued his thoughts.
They would all hear the refined version later anyway.
“In order to do that, we loot the Dragon Lord’s house.”
The Elf Grand Elder standing by the World Tree flinched.
“While the Dragon Lord goes nuts about it, put him in prison.”
Wiesha’s eyes opened wide.
Everybody other than Raon flinched at what Cale said next.
“Beat him up.”
Beat up the Dragon Lord.
Cale calmly continued planning.
He then made eye contact with Eruhaben, who was looking at him, and…
A gentle smile appeared on Cale’s face.
“If we keep beating him up, there should be at least one opening, which is when we will smack his heart.”
He then asked Eruhaben.
“That sounds okay, doesn’t it, Eruhaben-nim?”
The ancient Dragon contemplated for a bit before opening his mouth.
“Amazing. Keeping it simple is always the answer.”
Pssss—
The World Tree started to shake.
Some of the leaves fell down.
The Elf Grand Elder and Wiesha slowly moved away from Cale.
The ancient Dragon and Cale continued chatting without caring.
“What kind of chaos are you thinking?”
“I think I need to chat with the foundation of this world first for that, Eruhaben-nim. I need to ask him first before I do it.”
“Then what about looting the lair? Ah, is this map the location of the lair?”
“Yes, Eruhaben-nim.”
“As expected, you are always so prepared. Then the prison?”
“Between time and space, I’m thinking of us taking control of the ‘space’ aspect. But I am a bit worried about how to create that ‘space.’”
“Mm.”
The ancient Dragon started to think while Cale continued.
“As for beating him up… That’s our specialty.”
“That is true.”
Raon slowly came over and asked.
“Human, are you going to overdo it again?”
“No.”
Cale sternly responded.
“If we follow this plan, neither you nor I have to overdo it.”
Thanks to Axion, Cale found a way to deal with the Dragon Lord without using instant.
* * *
That evening, Cale finished all of his preparations and explained the plan to the ally top executives.
There were three parts to the plan.
“Steal, flip over, and beat up!”
