Tribulation of Myriad Races - Chapter 1937: This Is My Territory (2)

Chapter 1937: This Is My Territory (2)
The ancient experts were left speechless. This former attendant to the ancient Human Emperor was way too shameless. He was fawning on the human lord so hard that it almost felt uncomfortable to watch.
Brave Martial General frowned and said, “Since you say that nobody dares to object, are you saying that you have the support of the three pseudo kings under you?”
“That is only natural.” Su Yu laughed and asked, “Why do you doubt that? Lan Tian is a pseudo king. Lan Tian, do I have your support?”
“That is only natural.” Lan Tian grinned, “I will follow all your orders. All who dare to disobey will be killed.”
Lan Tian looked at Brave Martial General and asked, “Why do you believe that someone down there actually dares to disobey Emperor Yu? Three pseudo kings…are you talking about me, Culture King’s dog, and South Heavenly King? We all follow Emperor Yu.”
Brave Martial General looked helpless. Wasn’t this supposed to be a pitiful human lord? Wasn’t this supposed to be a puppet human lord? Wasn’t Hundred Battle’s faction supposed to be extremely powerful?
Cloud Water Marquis noticed something else. She asked softly, “Culture King’s dog?”
“Yes.” Su Yu nodded, “Fat Ball. Do you know him?”
“I’m not too familiar with him.” Cloud Water Marquis said, “But I remember hearing about him before. So he has reached the level of a pseudo king as well?”
Instead of talking about bloodlines, she continued, “Apart from pseudo kings, are there other Daofuses under you?”
Su Yu said, “Of course. Isn’t Great Zhou King here one? There’s also Director Wan, who is similar in strength to Great Zhou King.
“Oh, I also have Great Qin King and Great Xia King, who are both similar in strength to you, Cloud Water Marquis.”
Cloud Water Marquis and the others listened attentively. This was their best chance to learn more about the Lower Realm humans.
Cloud Fire Marquis frowned slightly and said, “In that case, there aren’t that many top-level experts among the Lower Realm humans at all. Is that so?”
Su Yu said, “It’s not that bad. I have some non-human followers who are near the level of pseudo kings as well, such as General Grand Dream, Marquis Lanshan from the Death Realm, and Soy Bun of the soul devourer race.
“Our overall strength is decent, but we are naturally weaker than the Upper Realm. We can handle one of the three major races, but we stand no chance against the three major races together.”
They continued processing what they were learning from Su Yu.
After a while, Shadow Marquis asked with shock, “Human Lord, where are we going?”
“Dao Origin Land.”
“No!” Shadow Marquis reacted intensely, “That place is too dangerous. There are many top experts of the myriad races there. The moment we are discovered in there, we will all die!”
Brave Martial General exclaimed in surprise as well, “That’s our destination? Are we releasing Hundred Battle? You told me you don’t serve Hundred Battle! Why are we going there?”
Su Yu laughed and said, “We’re testing the strength of the myriad races. Why are you so nervous?”
How could they not be nervous?
Cloud Fire Marquis said in agitation, “There are more than one or two pseudo kings there. In fact, there are more than ten of them there. We might also have a pseudo king, but the moment we’re surrounded, we’re dead!”
“I know.”
“Why are you going if you know?”
“Just follow me.” Su Yu said, “Stop yapping. With the Heaven Gate, I can see more than you.”
They talked too much. People like Wan Tiansheng wouldn’t have bothered to ask so much. They would go just because he said so. They were reminded that Su Yu had opened the Heaven Gate, but they couldn’t stop worrying.
Once again, Cloud Water Marquis looked at Brave Martial General with a pair of eyes that could speak. She looked helpless. Where was the promised human lord who was willing to listen?
Brave Martial General replied through her eyes as well, promising that the human lord she saw earlier was one who was willing to listen! For example, he had gone looking for Cloud Water Marquis after a single suggestion from her!
The two looked at each other helplessly.
They had been too hasty. From how things were looking, it seemed unlikely that they would be able to leave so easily. Even South Suppression Marquis had been captured. This human lord was clearly not doing all this to recruit them. Rather, he was trying to keep them out of his way.

Su Yu did not care about their reaction.
Since they were already by his side, they would no longer have the ability to do anything stupid. Yes, they were strong enough that not even Su Yu, Great Zhou King, and Lan Tian could fully suppress them. But they were also wanted by the myriad races.
Su Yu could easily escape upon attracting the myriad races, but not them. Upon exposure, they would definitely die. Thus, their survival was now reliant upon Su Yu. Unlike them, Su Yu had an alternative. He could always return to the Lower Realm.
He had gathered all of them because he wanted to do things cleanly in the Upper Realm, but that did not signify that he couldn’t accept imperfection to his plan. If they were to annoy him too much, he could simply kill a few myriad race experts before abandoning them all. What could they do about that?
Even including his task to kill three Daofuses and frame Control King’s lineage as the culprit. He could give up on it at any time. He could do things imperfectly. What was the big deal about it?
At worst, he would return to the Lower Realm after screwing things up. It was that simple.
It wasn’t like the connection to the Lower Realm would be restored immediately. He still had a few years left. With the connection under fate race’s control, anyone attempting to descend in advance would be courting death.

Dao Origin Land. A region to the far east of the Upper Realm.
It was vast and mysterious.
Here, one could encounter a random masterless dao at any time. Upon fusing with a complete masterless dao, one would instantly become a peak Daofuse. Of course, compatibility between the cultivator and the dao was still required for this to happen.
In fact, one could even reach the level of a pseudo king through this method. Anything was possible. However, becoming a Master of Law was still as difficult as ever. Fully mastering a single dao was clearly too difficult for anyone to accomplish.
The entire region was constantly covered in a curtain of white light.
Dao Origin Land. The origin of all daos.
Prior to the collapse of the ancient past, this place was known as the Heavenly River Exit. But many people disliked that name. Where was the heavenly river? Was this an exit to the heavenly river?
But where was the river?
After humanity’s defeat six thousand years ago, this place had fallen completely into the hands of the myriad races. A large number of experts moved in and started fighting over the various daos here.
Over the past six thousand years, the myriad races had produced numerous new experts. Prior to that, humanity had also produced numerous experts through this place. That was how it had produced over a hundred Daofuses to be sacrificed during Hundred Battle King’s reign.
Even after so many years of exploration, the Dao Origin Land was still filled with mysteries. For example, it was said that there was an entrance to the Lower Realm here. For example, there was a Seal Mountain here, a mountain rumored to be where Hundred Battle King was being sealed.
It was also filled with numerous secret locations, filled with countless hidden experts and slumbering old fossils. These so-called old fossils were powerhouses near the level of Masters of Laws.
These were the experts who were only a step away from that level, yet they couldn’t find the path forward. Thus, they had all been slumbering in the Dao Origin Land. In fact, there might even be humans among them.
After all, humanity had controlled this land for countless years. It was very unlikely that experts at this level would be willing to reveal themselves before taking that step forward. At this level, all their efforts would be dedicated to only taking that step forward.
***
Dao Origin Land, a land eternally covered in light.
This was the opposite of the Chaos Mountain, which would always be shrouded in darkness. One east and one west, these were the two most dangerous locations in the Upper Realm.
Somewhere beyond the radiant region.
As the most well-informed human in the Upper Realm, Shadow Marquis said through voice transmission, “The Dao Origin Land is constantly covered in light, but this curtain of light falling from the sky is actually formed by the various powers of laws.
“Thus, any movement in or out of the region will create quite a lot of fluctuations. Humanity no longer dares to enter this place. The moment the attention of the myriad races are caught, a pursuit would ensue.”
Su Yu nodded.
Shadow Marquis continued his explanation, “The experts of the various races are in there. According to the rumors, there are even slumbering humans in there.”
Noticing Su Yu’s gaze on him, Shadow Marquis explained, “Those are only rumors. I’m unsure if they’re true. It is said that these true peak experts are only a step away from becoming Masters of Laws. But they are stuck, yet they are too strong. The burden of just existing alone is too much for them to endure before taking that step forward. Some have even comprehended enough to reach the level of Masters of Laws, but advancement is impossible. Thus, these people are forced to enter deep slumber to stop themselves from comprehending more about the dao.”
Su Yu appeared doubtful, “Slumbering to stop themselves from comprehending more?”
Shadow Marquis’ explanation was unclear. Great Zhou King provided another explanation, “It’s quite simple. For example, my comprehension of my dao is deep enough to gain full mastery of my dao. However, I can’t master my dao, yet I keep absorbing the power of law at a rapid speed due to my comprehension. The speed is too much for me to process, and it will result in a self-detonation when it exceeds my limit.”
Su Yu blanked out. He looked at Great Zhou King curiously. How did he know this?
With a bitter look, Great Zhou King sent a voice transmission, “I have reached the peak of my patient dao. I naturally understand.”
Realization dawned on Su Yu. True.
He frowned and said, “You’re saying that their comprehension has surpassed their strength, forcing them to slumber and slow the power absorption. Is that so?”
“Yes.”
Great Zhou King nodded, “That is the only choice. They can also slow the absorption by leaving since the ambient power here is simply too thick. But by leaving…”
Great Zhou King said, “They are too powerful. Any other place won’t be stable enough to bear the weight of their daos. No suitable place exists. Either they starve to death or they fill themselves to the point of bursting. In such a situation, they can only enter deep slumber here, preventing both from happening.”
Only someone in the same situation could understand the pain.
When Su Yu looked at Great Zhou King doubtfully, he explained, “The dao I follow isn’t strong enough, so that problem isn’t as serious for me. Furthermore, things are fine in the Lower Realm thanks to the suppression of the River of Time. But in the Upper Realm, the suppression is too weak. The powers of daos are too loose, and one can grow too easily.”
“There are advantages to the Lower Realm. The people slumbering here can actually slow their growth in the Lower Realm as well. But they have spent too much time up here so the Lower Realm itself repels them as well.
“Why is the Lower Realm rejecting them? Because their daos are too loose after spending so much time down here. The Lower Realm will fill up their loose daos, making it even easier for them to burst apart.”
Understanding dawned on Su Yu. He asked, “Things should be fine now, right? The heavenly laws of the Lower Realm have weakened considerably.”
Great Zhou King nodded, “Yes. Things should be fine now. And when the epoch ends, the powers of laws will become dense yet again, forcing those from the Upper Realm to leave. That’s mainly a result of the rejection by the River of Time. Just like how those from the world of the living will be rejected in the world of the living.”
Su Yu nodded and asked nothing else.
He opened his Heaven Gate and gazed at the curtain of light ahead of him.
Instantly, his eyes flickered.
He saw it.
Deep inside the curtain, he saw the River of Time…no, wait…that did not seem to be the River of Time. He pushed his Heaven Gate to its limit and focused. Up in the sky, a fractured river could be seen. Or to be precise, it was an incomplete river.
