Tribulation of Myriad Races - Chapter 1939: Weird Human Emperor (1)

Chapter 1939: Weird Human Emperor (1)
“Human Emperor!”
Su Yu couldn’t help but wonder about the little stone. Was that something Human Emperor had deliberately left behind? Was it a pure accident that Xing Yue had buried it in Culture King’s Resident?
Perhaps.
Thanks to the stone, the pressure he felt from the Dao Origin Land was reduced by at least a third. He was certain the stone could also suppress the different powers of laws in the curtain. Even just suppressing a third of the power of a heavenly king would turn such an expert into a tier-two or even tier-three Daofuse.
“Truly incredible.”
Su Yu sighed again.
A vast majority of the top experts of the myriad races resided in the Dao Origin Land. Were they aware that they were actually residing in Human Emperor’s personal territory? Were they not afraid that he would have a successor one day? Such a successor could gain control over this place and wipe them all out.
With those thoughts in mind, Su Yu stepped into the Dao Origin Land. Unsurprisingly, he created no fluctuation. And the moment he stepped inside, he sensed the many masterless powers in the air.
“Truly a treasure land.”
Su Yu couldn’t help but gasp in admiration. He had seen such masterless powers before. In the Allheaven Battlefield, this was what one would receive as the reward upon killing an opponent beyond one’s level. In short, staying here was the same as receiving heavenly rewards at all times.
“Upper Realm…no wonder so many people want to stay up here. No wonder all those Daofuses are willing to abandon the Lower Realm. With such a place up here, the choice is obvious.”
He still remembered how hard he had to work back then just for some heavenly rewards. Meanwhile, there was an endless supply of power of law, also known as dao power here. One ought to know that the numerous experts here had been absorbing the powers here for countless years, yet the density of the powers had not decreased. What did that signify? It signified that there was an endless source of power somewhere.
“The very water of the River of Time is essentially the liquid form of the various powers of laws. However, the water isn’t leaking directly out here in liquid form. Perhaps…there is some sort of filter in place? A filter set by Human Emperor to take apart and purify the water from the river?”
Su Yu had numerous questions in his mind. He wanted to see how the River of Time looked like from this place. He wanted to look at Human Emperor’s dao. As for the people he needed to kill…he was in no rush. Killing people had never been his main goal in the Upper Realm.
He was here to learn and grow. These were his main goals here. As for the eight Daofuses he had killed since his arrival, that was merely something he had done in passing.
Yes. Done in passing.
He wondered if those dragon Daofuses would become death spirits after dying. That was unlikely since they had died somewhere the River of Time couldn’t reach. How indignant would they feel upon learning that they had merely been killed in passing?
“It is unlikely that those who have died elsewhere in the Upper Realm will be brought back as death spirits, but this place should be the exception.”
While thinking about all that, Su Yu looked up at the sky again.
The rest of the Upper Realm was not covered under the River of Time, but Human Emperor’s incomplete river covered this place. And since Human Emperor’s dao was connected to the River of Time, it was likely that those who had died here could return as death spirits.
Su Yu looked around. As he was still at the edge of the Dao Origin Land, there weren’t anyone in the area. He wasn’t planning to go deeper. Rather, he planned to enter the River of Time.
With a rip, he opened a rift in space. Here, he could finally access the River of Time.
Whoosh!
That was the sound of the flowing river.
Everyone would enter the River of Time through a different spot, but Su Yu was still cautious. Was there anyone else in this stretch of the river? Would he encounter them? He couldn’t be careless even after entering the River of Time.
As he stepped into the River of Time, the rift vanished behind him.
***
Dao Origin Land.
This was a place with countless experts.
At the exact moment Su Yu stepped into the river, an expert atop a mountain looked up. His eyes glowed as he sank into thought. Did someone just enter the River of Time? He seemed to have sensed a weak fluctuation earlier.
But soon, he tossed the matter to the back of his mind. This was a frequent occurance here, even if the frequency had dropped in recent years. Most of the time, those residing here would only step into the River of Time to fuse with more of their daos. There would be no other reason for those residing here to enter the river.
***
Somewhere underground, an expert who had practically become one with the ground also opened his eyes to look up at the sky. Some of the experts in the Dao Origin Land would pay constant attention to the River of Time.
It was unlikely that anything would emerge from the river, but they still needed to be wary of the tiny possibility that it would happen.
***
Several experts in the Dao Origin Land sensed the minute fluctuation.
But since the fluctuation was so weak, they all judged that the culprit was also an unimportant weakling. Thus, they withdrew their attention soon after. Someone entering the River of Time wasn’t too rare an event. It would only be worth paying attention to if someone powerful was doing it.
***
Su Yu was naturally unaware of all that.
Then again, he did not view the act of entering the River of Time as something significant. Everyone here could do that. However, the distance one could traverse upon entering the river would differ between different individuals.
With the stone in hand, Su Yu did not feel much resistance from the river. Beneath him, the water flowed rapidly. The river greatly resembled the River of Time proper, but there were also slight differences. He could sense the differences right after entering. He advanced slowly while sensing the differences.
This was the dao of the Human Emperor. He wanted to investigate the Human Emperor’s dao. The death spirit dao specialized in death spirits. In that case, what did this dao specialize in?
He continued downstream. He knew that this would lead toward a severed path. To reach the real River of Time, he would need to go upstream. He was in no rush to do so. He was here to study the dao. And this wasn’t something to be rushed.
He decided to first take a look at the severed part of the river. The further he moved, the faster the water flowed. Thanks to the stone in his hand, he wasn’t subjected to too much pressure by the river.
“Water dao? Fire dao?”
Su Yu focused as he speculated. Eventually, he started frowning.
No. Metal, wood, water, and fire were all present. But this did not signify that these elements were the main attributes of this dao. As he advanced, the river grew wider. But his expression was turning more and more solemn.
“An amalgamation of the myriad daos.”
Sure enough, this was what all the supreme powerhouses would attempt upon reaching a certain point of cultivation.
Understanding dawned on him.
The increased width signified that there were more different powers concentrated at this part of the river.
However, Su Yu had yet to sense the main attribute of Human Emperor’s dao. This did not seem right. Generally, the main attribute should be the most distinct attribute. For example, one could sense the power of death right after entering the death spirit dao.
“Did the Human Emperor try to grow everything equally to form a new River of Time?”
Su Yu sank into thought. If that was the case, it signified that Human Emperor had a similar idea to what Su Yu thought of previously. But even Su Yu would be more predisposed to certain attributes.
“As a sagely ruler, how could the dao of Human Emperor be without any special attributes?”
Since Su Yu couldn’t find an answer to this question, he stopped thinking about it. He continued onward. Eventually, his expression turned odd. There were actually some tributaries on this river. There weren’t a lot of them, but there were!
Su Yu’s eyes flickered. A regular person couldn’t see this tributaries, but he could.
“There are…tributaries here as well!”
One could say that these tributaries were similar to the ink dao of the death spirit dao. But Human Emperor’s dao was too new and incomplete. This didn’t make sense.
“Were they mad?” Su Yu gasped in shock. He muttered, “This signifies that someone had comprehended their own dao and opened their own tributaries from Human Emperor’s dao. But this is an incomplete dao. It’s too dangerous to open a dao here.”
It would be stupid to pioneer a dao on an incomplete dao. A dao pioneered on an incomplete dao wouldn’t be too strong. Furthermore, the stability would be lacking. This was simply too dangerous.
“If creating a new River of Time was Human Emperor’s goal, he would certainly welcome this.
“Meanwhile, the master of death spirit dao was clearly uninterested in creating a new River of Time. Thus, he blocked everyone from opening new daos on his dao. Upon entering his dao, any dao would be assimilated into the death spirit dao.”
Clearly, the master of the death spirit dao was a domineering individual.
He was essentially telling everyone to behold his dao. Others could open their daos there, but they would need to embrace the fate of being reduced to his servants. Or they could simply piss off. Only his dao was allowed there.
Meanwhile, this incomplete dao of the Human Emperor allowed the existence of tributaries.
Su Yu had an odd expression.
After studying the tributaries for a bit, he resumed his journey forward. Slowly, an idea took form in his mind. From the outside, the severed river looked short. But when he was actually moving on it, he found that this was actually quite a long river.
After a long while, the little stone started growing. Only upon reaching a certain equilibrium with the river did it allow Su Yu to stabilize his steps. Here, the flow of the river was much faster than before.
Abruptly, something akin to a waterfall appeared before him. He stopped and looked at the light in front of him. The severed part of the river was there. This was the end of this incomplete dao.
Water fell endlessly from the severed end like a waterfall. This was most likely the source of all the thick ambient dao power all over the Dao Origin Land.
“If I jump down here, will I end up in the Dao Origin Land? Or will I end up in an unknown timeline?”
Standing at the very top of the hanging waterfall, Su Yu gazed down. This was the water that had flown all the way from the River of Time.
“This is the origin of the masterless daos.”
Su Yu observed in silence.
Under his gaze, countless powers of daos fell down from the river, only to turn into numerous incomplete daos before reaching the bottom of the waterfall. Behind him, the flow of the water was growing in intensity, threatening to push Su Yu down as well.
In response, the stone glowed again, stabilizing Su Yu’s position atop the waterfall.
Su Yu continued observing the waterfall in silence. After a while, his eyes flickered as he sat down cross-legged and continued his observation. He felt as though the numerous powers were being purified here.
Numerous elements could be felt from the river, such as fire, earth, water, and so on.
But the ambient dao power permeating the air of the Dao Origin Land was without any attribute.
Prior to this, he didn’t understand why. But now, he could see something resembling a net at the middle of the waterfall. The net acted as a filter, purifying the powers falling from the top of the waterfall.
“All the attributes will be stuck at the midpoint…”
Su Yu’s eyes flickered again. An urge to take a look at the midpoint rose within him. What would happen? Would he die? Would he lose his way? He had no answer. But the urge to go down there was very strong.
This was an incomplete dao. A dao in progress. Something like this was too tempting for him.
“What if I lose my way down there? Why if I end up trapped for millions of years down there?”
