Chapter 500: Chapter 500: Isn’t That Truly the Nether King?
Lu Ran planned to start synthesizing at dinner time.
So, there was still half an afternoon left.
He returned to Japan, summoning the Skeleton Tyrant wildly and simultaneously unleashing the ones he had previously stored.
Madly generating new undead creatures!
This was Lu Ran’s first time being so reckless.
A massive influx of undead creatures continued endlessly.
For this trip to the Heroic Spirit Hall where the gods resided, Lu Ran was going all out.
But as dinner time approached.
Lu Ran suddenly stopped.
During the act of summoning, a thought unexpectedly crossed his mind.
He remembered the earlier invocation of the Netherworld Portal, and how the undead mage, Wang Mu, had been curious about whether it was possible to traverse through it.
Whether upon entering, one would truly reach the Netherworld.
Lu Ran had been curious at the time too.
But no one dared to try.
For fear of whether one could return, being trapped in the Netherworld forever—even if not dying—would be meaningless; it would be a different form of death.
But now.
The curiosity in Lu Ran’s heart was rekindled.
He had a clone now!
If the Netherworld Portal could indeed be crossed, regardless of what lay beyond, or the dangers within
Even in death, Lu Ran could resurrect within his clone and emerge!
Moreover.
If there was no way back, Lu Ran could use active skills to come out in the form of his clone!
Unfailingly safe!
Simultaneously.
The most crucial part was, if the inside of the Netherworld Portal was truly the Netherworld, then it would mean that everything within it comprised dark series creatures!
And Lu Ran.
The Skeleton Throne feature allowed him to control all dark series creatures with just a look!
Equivalent to Lu Ran directly controlling the entire Netherworld!
“Controlling the whole Netherworld means I would truly be the Nether King, not merely an undead mage…” Lu Ran muttered.
The more he thought about it, the more excited he grew.
Seeing the Skeleton Tyrant still generating new undead creatures on a large scale didn’t even require his concern.
Lu Ran directly summoned the Netherworld Portal right where he stood.
Looking at the familiar Netherworld Portal, Lu Ran swallowed hard, feeling exhilarated by the adventure!
And then.
He dropped a clone right there.
Having prepared everything, Lu Ran took his first steps towards the Netherworld Portal.
Upon reaching the entrance, Lu Ran touched the frame of the Netherworld Portal with his hand.
Rather than feeling icy, it was gentle, akin to the touch of warm jade.
The entrance was right beside him.
Even at such close range, it appeared chaotic, with nothing discernible.
Lu Ran glanced back at his clone.
Then resolutely stepped into the Netherworld Portal.
Whoosh~
The moment of contact unleashed a terrifying suction force that dragged Lu Ran in, the Netherworld Portal returning to its calm as if nothing had ever happened.
And Lu Ran.
A brief spell of dizziness ensued.
This sensation was not unfamiliar to Lu Ran; it was akin to the feeling of entering a dungeon.
It further confirmed for Lu Ran that the Netherworld was essentially an independently existing dungeon.
Subsequently, Lu Ran’s vision began to stabilize.
But the scene before him sent chills down his spine.
Thick, ink-like black fog churned around, as if invisible hands were trying to engulf him.
Above his head, a giant blood-red moon hung in the ominous sky, casting dark crimson rays that enshrouded the entire Netherworld in an eerie scarlet hue.
The sky appeared a murky dark purple, as if stained by blood, occasionally pierced by bolts of ghostly blue lightning.
Rumble~
Deafening.
The sky seemed on the brink of being torn apart.
Gales roared across the land.
The whole world exuded an eternal solitude and desolation.
Even infecting Lu Ran’s emotions, making him slightly gloomy.
Underfoot, the land lay barren, riddled with pits, its wet surface illuminated by the blood moon.
It was as if the whole world had been painted with blood.
The ground was strewn with shattered bones, and every step crunched with the sound of bone breaking, as countless wronged souls seemed to silently lament.
In every direction lay jagged rocks, even the distant mountains were bare.
Their color a morbid gray-black, combined with the blood moon’s hue, presenting a shade of black-purple.
At a glance, it was as if countless fierce beasts lay dormant on the ground, unmoving.
Besides that, everywhere the earth cracked, revealing winding fissures.
Some as narrow as fingers, others vast like canyons.
From these fissures, black smoke continuously emerged, releasing a pungent stench of decay.
On this eerie land, various undead creatures roamed.
Skeleton soldiers dragged their ragged weapons, hollow eye sockets flickered with eerie green light, mechanically moving their bodies, their bones grinding with a rattling sound.
Ghostly spirits hovered erratically in the air, their transparent bodies barely visible under the blood moon’s glow, emitting piercing cries.
That sound seemed capable of penetrating one’s soul!
There were also some bizarre creatures, covered with rotting flesh, oozing foul-smelling slime, crawling slowly on the ground, leaving a nauseating trail in their wake.
Even these were undead creatures that Lu Ran, the undead mage, had never encountered before!
These wandering phantoms and undead corpses.
Amelessly drifting.
Some softly sobbing, others maniacally laughing.
Sounds intertwined, echoing throughout the Netherworld.
The oppressive and terrifying atmosphere tugged at Lu Ran’s nerves.
A lone human entering this world, the sudden shift too overwhelming for Lu Ran’s mind momentarily.
“It’s truly not a place for humans, too terrifying! No wonder it’s called the Netherworld!” Lu Ran muttered.
Simultaneously, he discovered with delight.
These undead creatures wandering around him, their levels surprisingly high!
Even the lowest skeleton soldiers had reached level fifty!
There were other higher-level undead creatures, level sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety…
And even level one hundred!
Mind you, Sillor was level one hundred, though as a BOSS level, slightly more formidable.
But in this Netherworld, there were quite a few surpassing level one hundred!
The reason Lu Ran couldn’t determine the exact levels was due to the vast level difference!
Lu Ran attempted a mental command.
Indeed!
Wherever his gaze swept, all the undead creatures were instantly under his control!
Data and rules couldn’t deceive anyone.
Lu Ran could see the control indicator hovering above these undead creatures’ heads.
Test confirmed it.
This made things simple!
Lu Ran deployed his Elf Wings, soaring upwards!
Echoing against the blood moon overhead, he began to roam throughout the Netherworld!
High above, with a far-reaching view, a mere glance controlled countless undead creatures directly!
Yet Lu Ran felt his flying speed was too slow.
So, he switched to displacement skills!
In the skies of the Netherworld, Lu Ran’s figure continuously flickered; each time he appeared, his gaze swept down before vanishing again.
Countless undead creatures were having their ownership seized by Lu Ran!
He’s gradually gaining control over the entire Netherworld!
