Unholy Player - Chapter 520 Possessing Dual Cores

Chapter 520 Possessing Dual Cores
He looked to the right and saw the sky and land drowned in darkness, like an eerie night had settled over them.
Even the clouds drifting overhead looked heavy and threatening, carrying storm rain that could break at any moment, their uncertain timing creating an air of instability.
The air was cold and oppressive. Even in this energy form, he could feel the domain’s malice woven into the space itself.
Then he turned his gaze to the left, where the complete opposite scene lay in front of his vision.
Only warm light existed there.
There was still no sun in the sky. Yet the land and the heavens were filled with warmth and brightness. The glow was steady and calm, not blinding.
Seen as a wide scene, it looked like two different worlds pressed together. One half was painted in a bleak atmosphere, ruled by gray tones and their shades, cold and melancholic, while the other half was dressed in warm yellow and white hues.
A clean line split the two atmospheres straight down the center. They didn’t mix in the slightest, as though a perfectly straight stroke had been drawn to divide the two worlds like a painting crafted by an artist’s hand.
If it were a painting Adyr had to interpret, only one word would come to mind. Balance.
Love and hate. Hope and despair. Faith and doubt. Mercy and cruelty…
Everything looked perfectly arranged. The arrangement was akin to a work of art, capable of provoking profound contemplation and prompting questions about life itself.
And there were two structures on the two lands-distinctive and unmistakable. Each stood at the exact center of its region, drawing attention the moment one looked their way.
Mother Tree and Tower of Worth.
The two treasures seemed to have changed as well. They looked like they had adapted to the newly upgraded God Domain, as if the domain itself had reshaped them to match its new rules.
Mother Tree stood at the center of the island where light reigned. Its trunk was vast and steady.
Its branches spread wide, covering half of the island. Its leaves overflowed with life force. Even from a distance, it gave onlookers the feeling of staring at the meaning of life itself. Their gentle movement looked like slow breathing.
Tower of Worth was different. It had completely shed its former small, staff-like shape.
Now it stood as a towering structure of stone, firmly planted at the exact center of the other island. Its surface looked cold and harsh, like it had been carved to endure forever.
“They seem to have changed,” Adyr realized, the strangeness becoming clearer as he studied them more closely.
His energy body began to descend toward the Mother Tree to see what had happened.
And then he read the system message opened in front of him.
[Name] Mother Tree
[Rank] 4
Description: The Core of the White Domain, grown into existence by the mortal Adyr Hellcraft.
Effect: Passive Energy Production. Continuously generates energy over time while rooted within its domain.
Its Rank had changed from 1 to 4. And with it, its description had shifted completely as well.
“Wait… Core?” Adyr murmured. The term tugged at his memory.
He had seen a Core before. It was during his visit to the Legacy Domain the Wanderer Merchant had sent them to.
But the strange part was that he believed only Rank 5 Adepts could have a Core
in their Sanctuaries. Adyr was still a Rank 4 Practitioner.
Then again, it wasn’t a Sanctuary anymore. It was a God Domain.
That alone answered the question.
Still, the effect bothered him. It had shifted from daily stat points to energy generation, and he couldn’t decide whether that was good or bad.
He looked up at the Mother Tree’s branches. Countless purple crystals were growing along them. They were spaced like fruit along living wood.
Judging by their size and brightness, he roughly estimated they were all level 1. And there were at least 100 energy-value crystals forming across the branches. But as he moved closer, he noticed something else. Their glow was faintly deepening. They were still growing, as if fed by the tree’s steady pulse.
“I think if they grow more, they can turn into level 2… or even 3 and 4?”
A level 1 energy crystal provided 0.1 energy. A level 2 crystal was worth 1
energy.
If they reached level 3, which provided 10 energy per crystal, it would become a strong yield. This would ensure a steady stream of income.
And if he could push them to level 4, that would be astronomical, since a single crystal at that level contained 100 energy within it.
He couldn’t yet tell if it was better than gaining daily stat points. But with an
income like that, Adyr was confident he could find other ways to earn stat
points with that kind of money.
He rose back into the sky. Then he headed for the Tower of Worth to check what had changed there.
As he approached its cold, massive stone body, the system description opened in front of his eyes. The text hovered against the dark backdrop.
[Name] Tower of Worth
[Rank] 4
Description: The Core of the Black Domain, raised into existence by the mortal
Adyr Hellcraft.
Effect: Domain Blessing. Grants up to 3 chosen targets +300% effectiveness to all stat-derived power and scaling.
“A second core? I didn’t know that was possible,” Adyr thought, feeling like a complete rookie in this field.
When he visited the dead Rank 5 Adept’s Sanctuary, also known as a Legacy Domain, there had been only one core inside, shaped like a book.
For that reason, he had assumed a Sanctuary could only ever hold a single
anchor.
But now he had two, broadening his understanding about the inner spaces. It became even more shocking when he checked the Core’s effect. The ability to buff himself or others, tripling the effectiveness of their powers, was something he could use in any dire situation to change the course of a
fight.
