Watch Me - Page 80
“For you.” He sets the package on my desk.
I lick my lips nervously and open the box. Three beautiful silk scarves lie under the tissue paper. “Thank you.”
“It will allow you to leave our floor more readily. But I still don’t want you going anywhere alone in the building today or this week.” Seth’s blue eyes hold me captive. “Those people are still out there. I’m sure they won’t come at you again. Not while you’re here. But we can’t be certain. I just want to keep you safe.”
“Okay.” I pull out a cream scarf with a pink floral pattern and wrap it around my neck. The material is soft, smooth, and cool against my skin. The bruises on my neck look worse today, and no amount of makeup could help hide them.
“We’ll have lunch in the apartment today.” Seth clears his throat. “We have things to discuss.”
Fuck, I hope it’s not about being late this morning.
His face softens. “Take it easy today, please. I’d rather you rest and be at full strength than have you limp along for a week because you overdid it.”
When he reaches out and fixes my scarf, my breath catches at the simpleness of his action.
I nod, and he goes around my desk and into his office. All their doors are open except for Blake’s. The elevator doors chime, and Blake steps out, dressed for the day.
He gives me a curt nod before hurrying into his office, leaving his door open. I worried the sexual tension that hovered in the air all last week would still be here, but it seems as if the only tension is whether I’m okay.
We definitely eased that sexual tension this weekend. My cheeks burn as I look over my to-do list and try not to think about what each of them can do to me.
Coop drops off my coffee and flicks my scarf before heading back into his office. For an hour, everyone just works.
“Madison,” Noah calls for me.
When I stand in his doorway, his dark eyes take me in.
He gestures to the stacks on his coffee table. “Those need to be refiled, please.”
“Of course.” As I sit on the couch and quickly order them, I can feel his gaze on me. I meet his eyes before taking the first stack to the filing room. He gives me a brief smile. After two more trips, I’m finished and return to my desk to work on some other projects.
“Lunch time.” Coop reaches out his hand for mine. I finish typing the email I’m working on and press send. When I take his hand, he helps me up and leads me to the elevator.
“Should we wait for the others?” I glance over my shoulder, but the elevator arrives, and Coop tugs me along with him.
“They know the way.” He hits the button and backs me against the elevator wall.
My toes curl as he dips his head to my ear and kisses me right behind it.
“This is our time off for today, sweetheart,” he whispers in my ear. “Let’s take advantage of it.”
Chapter 25
Lunch
Cooper
Right now, I have about ten minutes to make Madison come before the others arrive. When the elevator stops, instead of heading for the main apartment door, I take her to mine.
“I thought we were all having lunch together.” She glances toward the elevator as it closes.
“We are.” I open my door and lead her inside. “But I want to eat first.”
My gaze drops to her skirt. Her cheeks flare hot.
“Take off your panties and your skirt.” I go to my drawer of goodies and pull out the medium butt plug and lube.
Half-naked, she moans at the sight and presses her thighs together.
