Watch Me - Page 98
“Rachel was our assistant.” I’ll just lay this all out.
“I know,” she says softly. Her eyes aren’t accusatory or jealous, just full of gentle understanding.
I take a breath and lean back. “After Andrea claimed we sexually harassed her, we decided not to try again. We hired Rachel purely for her work experience and references.”
Madison nods and sets her notepad on the other chair. “I understand your reluctance.”
I rub the back of my neck. “She worked great with all of us. When she moved into the apartment, she kept to herself. Occasionally she’d join us for dinner, but she kept her life separate, and that was fine.”
“So what happened?” She leans forward a little, like she really wants to know.
“Working late one night, I kissed her.” I swallow. “She initiated it, but I’d found her attractive for a while.”
Madison keeps her emotions to herself, except for a slight wince.
“I’m not saying this to hurt you.”
“I know.” She straightens and licks her lips. “Please continue. I want to know.”
“It wasn’t a single incident. We didn’t fuck, but we kissed a few other times.” I stand and pace. “We’ve had women try to come between us before. In college, Noah had a girlfriend who thought he spent too much time with us. One of Coop’s girlfriends refused to come around us and nagged at him every time he chose us over spending time with her.”
The stories are many. And those aren’t even the worst of them. Madison’s eyes track me.
“There were a couple of girls in college who wanted to experiment. We shared a few. Being with the same woman seemed like the logical step. We spend all our time together. It satisfies my voyeuristic tendencies, and that way women wouldn’t try to draw us apart. We aren’t just business partners. Those men are my family, and I won’t let someone come between us.”
I stop and take a breath. Madison just nods like she understands. Dropping into the chair beside her, I run my hand over my hair, holding her gaze steady.
“When I brought up being together with all of us, Rachel drew away like I’d handed her a poisonous snake. The next day, she came into my office and gave me her resignation. That whole next week, she kept asking if it could be just the two of us. When I finally told her it was all or nothing, she left. Walked out and took her stuff.”
Madison takes my hand. I take a deep breath and refocus on her.
“I fucked that up. The others found Rachel attractive but were reluctant. They would have done it for me.” I squeeze her hand. “I should have never made a move on her.”
“How many others have there been?” Her voice is cautious, like she doesn’t really want to know.
“We fooled around with the same girls in college a little. Nothing serious. Andrea was the first that we tried with the work arrangement.” I lifted my eyes to her. It’s only been a week and a half, but she’s already becoming part of us. Like she’s a piece of our puzzle we didn’t even know was missing.
“Thank you for telling me.” She kisses me.
One last thing. “I didn’t know Rachel worked with Harper or I would have prepared everyone. Including you.”
“She talked to me in the bathroom. Said you were perverts.” Madison’s gaze holds mine.
“What did you say?”
She smiles softly. “That maybe I wanted what you had to offer.”
Perfection.
Chapter 30
Working Hard
Blake
“Did you see my jewelry box when you packed my things?” Madison drops into the seat across from me in the library. She’s wearing a pair of sleep shorts and a tank top without a bra. Her hair is loose around her shoulders.
My cock hardens, remembering her riding me last night while taking the others in her mouth. Fuck. Her hard limits list is barely a list. I can’t wait to find her soft limits and press into them, make her want more.
