Chapter 1328: They Always Compete
The sounds of growling made both of them jump to their feet.
I continued to hide myself in the shadows as the two of them looked in the direction of where the growl had come from.
“Do not get in my way this time…” Ira muttered, materialising a ball of blood red flames in her palm.
Tsara did the same by summoning a ball of white flames, “I think I’m the one who should be telling you that.”
“You’ll just end up smashing the monster again. Did you forget what Aster said?”
“I remember well… We need the monster materials so I will be limiting my firepower. I don’t think you are capable of doing the same thing.”
Oh come on… I was hoping that the both of you would at least work together to deal with the monsters after I gave you that sermon earlier…
I guess expecting them to do it immediately after I told them to was unrealistic…
Oh well… I suppose the fact that they were focused more on dealing with the monsters than fighting each other was already a good step forward.
I still kept a few of my Shadow Guards hidden around just in case they make a mistake and allow a monster to get past them.
For now, I just sat here to watch what they would do.
They did not wait for the monster to reach the camp site and instead, ran towards the direction of the monsters.
I followed along with my [Shadow Wall] and [Shadow Glide] covering me to hide me in the darkness, making sure that I kept at a distance where I would not be spotted.
They eventually met the monsters that Eins had let through, which were just Hell Wolves that had been wandering around at the edge of the camp.
Obviously, I wasn’t going to risk letting in some really strong monsters in case the situation takes a turn for the worst. At least I know that Hell Wolves weren’t really that big of a threat and could be dealt with easily enough.
So on the off chance these two end up fighting each other and ignore the Hell Wolves… I could just mop them up even before they reached the camp easily.
But it looks like I didn’t need to worry as the moment they came in contact with the pack of Hell Wolves, the both of them split up to flank them and started their attack.
There were a dozen of the wolves and six of them immediately had their heads cut off with absolute precision, three of them being decapitated by a blood red blade while the other three being cut by a blade of light.
Ira then rushed towards the two on the left while Tsara broke towards the two on the right.
Ira stretched her hand towards the wolves and red spikes appeared from the ground, skewering the two wolves through their throats and killing them instantly.
On the other side, Tsara waved her hand at her targets and two beams of light appeared in the air to shoot through the skulls of the two wolves.
Hmm… Not bad, they’re actually limiting their attacks so they don’t completely destroy the bodies of those monsters so they really did take my lesson to heart.
The two then turned towards the last two wolves that had already skidded to a halt when they realised their entire pack had been wiped out.
They tried to turn and run but Tsara and Ira appeared in front of them, their hands raised up with their spells materialised in their palms.
To be honest, it really looks like they were demons from hell from how they were glaring at the poor wolves right now…
Both of them rushed forward and I could see the balls of darkness and light in their hands forming into blades before they swung it down on the wolves and…
The two blades clashed against each other, cancelling each other out.
Ira and Tsara turned to glare at each other at the same time before pointing a finger at the other person.
“I told you to get out of my way, you bitch!”
“Ara? I believe you are the one in the way, no? I got here first so these two are mine.”
“Huh?! Are you blind?! Can’t you even see that I’m in front of you right now?! That means I’m here first!!”
“No, no. My attack reached them first, you came afterwards so you are the one that is interfering.”
The two wolves blinked up at the unexpected situation in front of them as the two of them started to bicker over who should be the one killing these two wolves.
Come on… There’s two of them… Just kill one each and be done with it…
Seeing their chance, the wolves quickly ran off, trying to escape back into the first.
I thought the two of them would actually end up letting the wolves escape but their heads immediately swivelled back to the monsters and leapt towards them, their palms raised to point at the wolves.
A beam of light shot out from Tsara’s palm while a red beam came out from Ira’s.
The unfortunate thing was that both beams ended up colliding with each other and cancelled each other out once again, leaving the wolves unscathed.
Instead of bickering, the two leapt forward, catching up to the wolves in an instant and swung their hands towards them once again.
This time, both of them shot out two beams of their own colours instead as if expecting the other to shoot only one beam so their attacks ended up getting cancelled once again.
Even I could tell that both of them were nearing the end of the patience they had for each other and I was bracing myself for the inevitable fall out.
That came in the form of Ira trying to slash at one of the wolves, only for a shield of light to appear in front of her to block her completely.
While Ira was being blocked by the shield that she had summoned, Tsara turned towards the wolf and fired a light beam to pierce through its head, killing it instantly.
She then moved her palm towards the last wolf and fired another beam, only for what looked like a black hole to appear in its path and completely remove it from existence.
Ira then appeared above the wolf with her arm wrapped in black flames and she was just about to swing it down at the wolf before Tsara appeared, materialising another shield of light in front of her.
Girls… Oh my god… Just goddamn kill the last monster already!! It’s not a competition!! You don’t get a prize for killing more!!!
Ira furrowed her brows, her figure shifted to appear behind Tsara, her foot raised up before swinging down at Ira.
As though already expecting that, Ira spun around and blocked the blow with her arm, catching it before she could get hit by it.
She then thrust her arm forward and a beam of light was shot towards Ira who just managed to tilt her head to the side to avoid the deadly laser.
The wolf dashed past them and headed towards the bushes, completely ignoring the two girls who had decided to start fighting amongst themselves.
I swear… If they end up letting a monster like a Hell Wolf escape just because they keep interfering with each other…
The both of them switched their gaze to the last wolf and shoved each other away at the same time.
Ira threw a ball of red fire at Tsara who smacked it aside with what looked like a rod of pure light.
The red fire ended up blasting the trunk of a tree apart before it disappeared, causing the tree to topple towards them.
Tsara did not waste the opportunity and flicked her hand at the tree, using it as an improvised missile to shoot it towards the retreating wolf.
Ira waved her hand and a wall of fire appeared, completely consuming the tree and burning it into ashes.
She also flicked her wrist and caused a smoke explosion in front of Tsara, blocking the Trasif from seeing anything.
Tsara flew above the smoke cloud, only to see Ira descend on the last wolf and slash its head off.
The black haired Off-Worlder then turned to Tsara and showed her a middle finger as she floated over the corpse of the dead wolf.
Tsara tilted her chin at the gesture but said nothing and instead, went to the dead bodies of the wolves to start collecting them.
Ah… She’s definitely trying to grab more dead bodies to claim them as her kill, something that Ira immediately realised as she also started rushing back to claim all the corpses of the wolves she killed.
I couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
Seriously… What would it take for these two to at least just get along?
