Will of chaos - Chapter 1903: Cap 1899: Krimus

Chapter 1903: Cap 1899: Krimus
Now it was just me and Davoth against Callidora’s Envoy. His full-body armor ignited in multiple sections, revealing a pattern that was beginning to burn. These flames bore multiple faces in pain.
“You know, I like my job. I like shattering other people’s expectations. I like seeing the despair in the faces of those who thought they had everything under control. I like seeing someone’s eyes lose their sanity amidst something they don’t understand. I like attracting attention. Knowing I’m in the middle of things makes me feel important. I like being surrounded by such interesting people…” (Callidora’s Envoy)
“He’s buying time, attack!” (Davoth)
“I’ve already attacked…” (me)
I point my dagger at several parts of the armor, exactly the parts where there was most of that ghostly flame. I could see a red energy evaporating into nothingness; it was my blood.
“He’s not buying time, he’s buying us time.” (Me)
“…” (Davoth)
Davoth was surprised, and then he also understood what I meant. For someone to give enemies time during a battle like this, there’s only one reason: he wants to die, but considering who he serves, that shouldn’t be an option.
He won’t surrender; he’ll fight with everything he’s got and he’ll do his job. He’s always made his professionalism clear since he was brought here, so all I can do is better understand this sword and armor.
He was still speaking, but his voice had a strange tone that tried to affect my mind and emotions, something that won’t work on me or Davoth, but he knows it. His real target must be the Ascended watching us.
Then I look at that Armor. It was clear that those flames that only appeared during my attack must be a defensive measure, but I don’t know how that defense works. That blood was filled with Unholy Power. The only thing I haven’t used is the power of Law, as well as the power of Concept, which I haven’t yet mastered.
I tried using this blood to penetrate the Armor through the gaps, but it didn’t work. He didn’t even react, letting the armor do everything. Not to mention that Espada. I could feel the Power contained there, completely different from before. Yet, the Chimera’s presence still lingered, a much more savage presence with highly condensed killing intent.
Just by the reaction of my blood, I knew my Chaos power was being destroyed before it could even take effect on the armor, meaning my tricks wouldn’t work; I’d have to use a powerful, exhausting attack.
“Can you take care of that armor?” (Me)
“Yes, but it’ll take a while…” (Davoth)
“What nasty boys, ignoring my sweet words like that… that’s not very polite~!” (Callidora’s Envoy)
Before I knew it, Callidora’s Envoy had disappeared from our sight, then his voice came from behind us, followed by a sharp pain as I turned around, already swinging my weapons.
“< Eclipse Slash >” (me)
“< Pulse >” (Sent from Callidora)
My sword charges with power as it lunges at the enemy, but he’s much faster than I expected. His sword gets in the way with its own attack. The heart in the sword glows, pulsing more strongly than usual, making the sword vibrate with power.
Realizing what was coming, I charge more power into my sword as I use the Dagger to strike his neck.
As the two swords collide, I feel my organs twisting along with a deep pain. My wings beat to keep me steady and not be thrown backward by the blow.
When my dagger strikes his neck, it fails to pierce the armor, which emits a screaming sound as those same flames surge against me like a tidal wave.
That’s when a large hand grabbed my shoulder, pulling my entire body back as two beams of energy intertwined, striking Callidora’s Envoy’s shoulder. What surprised me was seeing a Rune on the armor had now been cut, cracks slowly beginning to spread from the Rune to the surrounding area, the ghostly flame from before corroding into white and black, clashing with each other.
“Don’t be fooled.” (Davoth)
“…” (me)
“< Magic of Anomalous Origin: Demonic Strengthening >” (Davoth)
Suddenly, Davoth’s Demonic Creature sprouted massive muscles, its hands split open into mouths with many teeth, its entire body split vertically between two horns, revealing a large red eye.
Its presence now held pure murderous intent, its aura seeming to carry true weight just by being within its sphere of influence. Before I knew it, it had already moved, and its claws were clashing with that strange sword.
At first, I attributed the reason for this Envoy of Callidora’s strength to his own ability, but what I’m seeing seems different. The sword seems to move on its own at times, perfectly complementing his movements, which is why his reaction speed is so monstrous.
The sword adapts so perfectly to his movements that it was impossible for me to notice it during the confrontation, even from the outside, as I only noticed now because of Davoth’s words.
While the two were fighting, I saw Davoth’s marks glow as he carved the same Runes he had imprinted on the Envoy of Callidora’s armor, one Rune at a time, into his own arm.
I didn’t even need to ask; I understand what he’s trying to accomplish. The enemy won’t keep giving him opportunities, so he wants to reserve these Runes for quick use as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
He then lunges at the enemy. Unlike what he did to me, Callidora’s Envoy is wary of Davoth’s attacks and never lets him get close.
“< Unholy Eclipse Magic: Law of the Sealed Path >” (me)
Of course, I wouldn’t just stand back and watch. I was trying to time my attack perfectly. With my previous attack, it was clear I couldn’t hit him, so what I meant was to trap him, even for a second.
The profane power and the Law intertwine before wrapping around his waist, feet, and hands. It doesn’t take quite three seconds to break free, but it’s still enough time for Davoth to reach him. The Runes he prepared rise from his arm, glowing, before connecting with several parts of his armor, imprinting themselves on them.
But that didn’t end well for us. Suddenly, a large claw pierces my back, breaking my spine, and when I turned, I realized it was Callidora’s Envoy, unarmored.
“I expected more from you, Bringer of Chaos… my lady bids farewell.” (Sent from Callidora)
His claw was gripping my Soul, and my power was beginning to be drained, but I couldn’t help but smile at his actions in voluntarily getting so close to me.
“This farewell… is for you…” (me)
“Thank you… for surrendering… so easily…” (me)
“< Chaotic Devourer of the Seven Stars >” (me)
Suddenly, his smiling expression froze. What happened next was my blood flowing down his arm toward him as it expanded, creating teeth and several tentacles that wrapped around him. Everything happened instantly, giving him no chance to escape as his entire body was consumed at once.
But before I could rip out his Soul and seal it, his Soul was suddenly pulled somewhere, disappearing from my power. What shocked me was that he escaped, entering Niryna’s Star Path and making his way to her.
“(I’ll see about that later.)” (me)
I turned to my chest. The wound was still there, my spine was no longer connected, and the wound wasn’t closing. In fact, the pain was only increasing.
“How are you?” (Davoth)
“Horrible… but fine…” (me)
I look at the armor that was now just scattered pieces, then at the sword being gripped by the feet and hands of the Demonic Creature Davoth summoned, the sword still twitching.
“How was it empty…?” (me)
“I think it was always empty, he was fooling everyone from the start.” (Davoth)
“…” (me)
“No, we all saw him transform before, he must have done it before fighting Krimus, now let’s go…” (me)
“Don’t worry, I won’t fight you.” (Krimus)
“…” (me)
“…” (Davoth)
We both turned to the man beside us, unsure of when he’d arrived. He was wearing a large coat with insect exoskeleton armor underneath, and a hood that only revealed his glowing green eyes. His voice was calm, and his presence felt like billions of presences mingled together.
Lolth and Sarazar approached calmly, along with Ronan, who looked frustrated. Neither of them was injured, which shows there had been no battle on their side.
“He was using Callidora’s Envoy to test you…” (Ronan)
“No, the test of his strength was conducted by my lady. I merely observed his powers. It’s very interesting, by the way.” (Krimus)
“A fusion with your Familiars isn’t unheard of, but doing so using even one Energy Cycle is very rare… the way you accomplished it is also different from me, interesting.” (Krimus)
“Thank you, thanks to you, I’ve been inspired about my power. As we grow older and gain knowledge, we make the mistake of ceasing to innovate, and our creativity also becomes more rational, losing the initial madness that makes us test things previously thought impossible.” (Krimus)
He seemed very happy, but looking around, I noticed many monster bodies being decorated with insects. I also noticed that Davoth’s Demonic Creature was injured, with a large, humanoid insect resembling a scarab holding the Demonic Sword in its hands.
Davoth didn’t seem to care about any of this; he simply acted calmly as he spoke to Krimus.
“What are you going to do now?” (Davoth)
“I’ve already achieved a lot here. I have inspiration for something new, a good sword for my experiments, and a sense of the Chaos Bringer’s power. Now I’ll leave you to return to this friendly competition.” (Krimus)
“The Stigma of Sin is likely found on one of those weak creatures, hiding in the crowd, something Hell would do, since it wasn’t on his Envoy, I’ll place my bets on that.” (Krimus)
“Why are you telling us your plan?” (Lolth)
“Because his abilities are focused on area-of-effect and massive attacks, even if we work together we won’t be able to match him in his hunt.” (Ronan)
“You’re getting smarter, youngest of Ohara.” (Krimus)
With that, he disappears as if he were a mirage. I can’t see where he went, and the sword disappears with him.
