Will of chaos - Chapter 1912: Cap 1908: Paradox again...

Chapter 1912: Cap 1908: Paradox again…
“HHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!” (Vecna)
Suddenly, the two Concepts seem to pause for a moment as they shatter along with the disappearing space. The two energies calm down, reducing the collisions. As Vecna grabs the spirit behind him, pulling it into his body, absorbing it, sprouting a 14th wing before speaking calmly again.
“Thank you very much, it was getting difficult to maintain control.” (Vecna)
“Then let’s end this once and for all.” (Vecna)
One look at him and I understood what he had done. He realized his loss of control. He knew there wouldn’t be time to recover, so he did something to release the Concepts that were disturbing his mind. Even expending a lot of power with this technique, he managed to completely regain his composure.
“How long can you keep this up?” (me)
“Long enough.” (Vecna)
“< Ascending Law: Aura Embodiment >” (Vecna)
Suddenly, all his Aura disappeared, merging before him in the form of a large spear with two blades on each end. Its handle was carved in straight and angular lines, like a circuit board.
“< Ascending Law: Piercing the Heavens >” (Vecna)
“< River of Bloody Claws >” (me)
Vecna advanced toward me, his eyes clear, his movements, though hurried, were still systematic. His power flowed through his body in a precise form, flowing into his spear, which glowed brightly before being sent toward me.
Meanwhile, the two blades in my hand glow brightly red. Using an adaptation of the ’River of Swords’ technique for this attack, I swing both hands, launching millions of blows with each blade, flowing along the same current of my Aura toward Vecna—a crimson-red current where thousands of Creatures try to emerge, their claws sometimes rising as if trying to escape this bloody river.
The two blows collide, but Vecna, unlike before, now has a clear mind. His attack splits more than half of the river of claws. This doesn’t stop my attack, it just causes red claws to emerge from all directions, trying to slash at him. This backfires when purple spikes appear on his wings, destroying the red claws before they reach Vecna’s body.
Seeing this, I charge at him, who dodges the rest of the attack. It seems that anything at a distance will give him too much time to analyze my blows, so I’ll end this with a close-range battle.
Without giving him time to prepare another strike, I swing my sword, creating a stream of blood from which the head of a large Eagle emerges, attempting to pierce him, but his spear parries the blow.
My dagger flies toward his head, but Vecna spins his spear in his hands, cutting off the Blood Eagle’s head while simultaneously parrying my dagger’s blow, which gives me the opening to use my tail to pierce his side.
The energies of the two Concepts seem to influence each other, as my strike strikes the blade of my tail, transforming it into pieces inside his body.
“< Unholy Breath of Eclipse >” (me)
“< Rising Law: Collapse Ray >” (Vecna)
I attack him with Dragon Breath, but he clasps his fangs together, holding his spear to the side. His Law Runes ignite, completing a magic circle with the spear as the medium in the blink of an eye. A beam of Law energy seems to gather from the surroundings, fueling the magic circle, which fires a beam of pure Law energy.
The two blows collide at close range. We are both sent backward, injured, by the explosion, but without wasting time, we recover almost simultaneously, already flapping our wings, advancing toward each other again.
This repeated itself over and over again, each strike containing all our power, each technique deadly, each intent on killing our enemy with the next strike. If it had been any other, I would have been able to finish this more easily, even though our power was the same. My techniques and abilities are numerous as well as strange, I know that well.
But Vecna could adapt to everything. His analysis of my abilities was lightning-fast, and he himself seemed to have many different techniques. Not to mention that his Two Concepts seemed to be increasing their power to match mine. That’s when I realized they were no longer clashing.
Because the combat had been challenging, I hadn’t noticed this change, but now it was obvious. The Concepts were no longer in conflict, but they weren’t working together either. It was as if the two powers had divided Vecna’s body in two, occupying their territories without daring to cross their borders.
I couldn’t say how he did it, but that wasn’t important at the moment. I realized that with each blow, his spear was absorbing a trace of my power. It was tiny and almost imperceptible, but the realization of this fact made me wonder about his motivation.
“(I need to end this faster…)” (me)
It was clear that Vecna must be using my power to balance these two Concepts within himself. Even though I thought it wouldn’t work in the long run, it was clear he was only using me at this moment to maintain his sanity.
Holding my sword and dagger, I was about to fight him again, but suddenly a large crystal doll pulled his spear out of the way of a beam of pure Demonic energy. Soon, dozens of injured Ascended were at Vecna’s side, and the one standing right next to him was Mavor, who was missing one of his arms.
Davoth, also covered in wounds, stood beside me. His Demonic Creature was behind him, his body in horrific condition, with what should have been mortal wounds rippling through his entire body.
“Why did you come?” (Me)
“Because I could feel it!” (Davoth)
Davoth spoke with a serious expression, pointing at Vecna. Now that the fight between us had calmed, I could see his body had become thinner, and his wings seemed to be burning with black fire. The purple runes on his body seemed deeper, and his eyes had changed, resembling orbs of flame in purple and black.
The spear in his hand emanates a faint power of Chaos, flowing into him slowly as it continuously transforms.
“If this continues, it will be a disaster. We need to finish him now.” (Davoth)
“Easy to say, but he’s getting stronger. Even now, I can’t handle him.” (Me)
Vecna seemed to have no weaknesses. No element worked against him. Spells were interrupted before they even activated, Abilities were the subject of devastating counterattacks as if he knew what was coming. The only thing that worked was direct combat, and my current sword technique using blood was the only thing that reached him without counterattacks or serious retaliation. I’m beginning to think he did this on purpose to continue absorbing my Chaos power with his Spear.
“I can stop him, all you need to do is…” (Davoth)
“(Too late, he’s already made his move…)” (Paradox)
As we spoke, Vecna looked at Davoth, and as if by surprise, purple spines extended from his wings, piercing the Ascended behind him while his spear pierced Mavor’s chest, who seemed shocked by it.
Davoth and I stared at it, also surprised by the sudden movement. The next thing I heard was Vecna’s calm explanation to Mavor.
“Sorry, old friend, but simply restoring my body isn’t enough. I need to rebuild my Soul, and I also need a new Spark of Existence… I do this with regret, but I can’t let her plans continue…” (Vecna)
The next thing I knew, everyone was being sucked dry, their bodies dropped in seconds to float in the void of space. Only Mavor’s entire body cracked before shattering into particles that were sucked into the spear. His Existential Spark soon revealed itself, a shapeless cube of multicolored, flaming energy, marked with Anomalous power.
By the time Davoth and I realized what was happening and were advancing on him, it was already too late. Vecna, now alone, thrust that thing into his own chest as all the Runes on his body and spear glowed. A faint smile formed on his sad face as his eyes met mine.
“With this, I only need one more step…” (Vecna)
“No… you’re perfect…” (Paradox)
Before anyone could understand what was happening, from my shadow emerged a large number of silvery ethereal bandages that seemed to traverse space itself, wrapping themselves around Vecna. He couldn’t utter a word before being trapped in a cocoon of these bandages. A power of Chaos ignited around him, melting space as it covered the cocoon, which then disappeared.
“(It’s almost time… come to me and talk soon, child, while I stay awake in my sleep…)” (Paradox)
“Zenos…” (Davoth)
“I don’t know how to explain… this isn’t the time either…” (me)
“…” (Davoth)
“ARRGHH!!!!” (me)
I myself didn’t understand what was happening. Suddenly, all my Chaos power was also sucked away somewhere I couldn’t explain. My body dissolved again, returning to its true form, while all my Divine Beasts appeared around me, unconscious, but thankfully none of them seemed injured.
“Freya… take them…” (me)
I didn’t know what had happened, but I soon felt myself recovering. I wasted no time in asking Freya to take everyone away. This wasn’t a safe place; there were still enemies nearby that we needed to deal with.
“(What the hell just happened…!?)” (me)
