Will of chaos - Chapter 2035: Cap 2024 (True): The Last Avatar of Dreams...

Chapter 2035: Cap 2024 (True): The Last Avatar of Dreams…
“Only one left…” (me)
“Wait!” (Xerxes)
Xerxes stopped me as I was about to create a lock with my power and use the key, but this time she stopped, warning me, and I accepted.
“Didn’t everyone notice anything strange?” (Xerxes)
“So you did?” (Lena)
“All the Avatars we rescued are unconscious.” (Cortana)
“What’s the problem?” (me)
“I understand, we’re all already in a state of unconsciousness, we shouldn’t be like this, especially since this is their domain.” (Ohara)
“…” (me)
What Ohara said makes sense, so when I looked at them all, I realized that the groom who was awake and actively trying to escape when we arrived was now floating in his sleep, and all the other Avatars are like that.
“I only noticed now, but this must be because of the same crystals we collected; they will need to be destroyed before the final plan.” (Xerxes)
So those crystals were really special, that explains why they all had those things.
“When we go in, you’ll have to start the plan, free the Avatar and leave the rest to the rest of us.” (Xerxes)
“Alright, but remember that one of them must be there this time, maybe even more than one of them.” (me)
Xerxes nods and waves his hand creating an illusion of a door, then I go there putting the key in the lock, the door then contorts as if it were jelly and transforms before becoming solid, its appearance now looking very much like a wooden door.
I open the door and enter, but as soon as I entered I was alone in what looked like a cabin, a cabin I remember very well since I was the one who built it.
“So you came, I knew she wouldn’t give up even when I asked her to forget about us.” (Nightmare)
“You’re one of the nightmares, one of the Dream Avatars, aren’t you?” (me)
“Yes, that’s me.” (Nightmare)
I look to a dark corner of the room where there was a window. It was night outside, and yet the moonlight created a long, dark shadow behind him. I couldn’t see anything but the outline of his body, a very familiar outline.
“You know they’re already fighting, don’t you?” (Nightmare)
“Of course I know.” (me)
“< Release >” (me)
My Aura containing my Authority begins to flow out faster and faster. After giving it the initial push, I raise my hand, creating light.
Soon he turns his face to me. It was my face, body, and even his presence looked very much like mine. He was weaker, yet still looked very much like me.
“Surprised to be me?” (Nightmare)
“I don’t understand, are you some kind of nightmare that copies the sleeping person?” (me)
“No, actually, of all the nightmares that are Avatars of the Dream, I am a Reincarnation of one of its Avatars who died.” (Nightmare)
“Died?” (me)
“You don’t think they could capture us all easily, do you?” (Nightmare)
“Casualties were inevitable, and in this case it was me, which led to the Dream lamenting that it could not exact revenge with its other Avatars held hostage.” (Nightmare)
“If you’re dead, then how are you standing in front of me?” (me)
“To begin with, why are you telling me all this?” (me)
“I’m buying you time, they’re already here, they tried to restrain me, but they can’t do it perfectly.” (Nightmare)
As he spoke, my Concept spread along with my Aura, creating a completely different environment. The interior of the wooden cabin transformed into stone, the roof disappearing, symbols and Runes appearing endlessly, interconnected by lines of blood, forming a circuit just as the Ohara diagram suggested.
“Why don’t we talk while we wait for them to arrive?” (Nightmare)
“I don’t care…” (me)
There was something he was trying to achieve with this; I could feel his interest in how he arranged arguments to steer the conversation in that direction, I just don’t know the reason yet.
Regardless of his motives, it was clear he wasn’t trying to stop me from continuing what I was doing, even so, I didn’t let my guard down.
“You may have noticed that each of the Dream Avatars represents a dream or nightmare.” (Nightmare)
“Whether it’s the story of an innocent princess, a totally irresponsible degenerate, or possessing a happy family.” (Nightmare)
“Each of us represents something; dreams are always about pure desires, while nightmares are about fear.” (Nightmare)
“Before I died, I was the second Dream Avatar, the Nightmare that represented the greatest fear of all, Chaos.” (Nightmare)
“When I was brought back, being an Ethereal being who wasn’t truly alive, special conditions were needed for rebirth.” (Nightmare)
“Nightmares are constructs of fear used as a spiritual impediment that must be overcome by the individual.” (Nightmare)
“That’s why you were chosen, a Bearer of Chaos having your worst nightmare, an evil version of yourself, it was perfect and that’s how we fell straight into their hands, they captured me when Dream was weak.” (Nightmare)
As he spoke, I could feel several presences approaching, from all directions, they were tearing everything in their path as if searching for where we were.
“You must have noticed, they don’t know where we are, but it’s only a matter of time before they find us.” (Nightmare)
“All my brothers were imprisoned with their opposites, lines that control puppets, destroying what they cherish most or locking them in a controllable area.” (Nightmare)
“But with me it was different, they could only close the exits, I represent Chaos and the worst part of someone, I was reborn from your dream by facing what you considered to be your worst part.” (Nightmare)
“My chains here are being alone and having everything calm, even so they couldn’t hold me so well.” (Nightmare)
As he spoke, I finally finished. The cabin had disappeared; I was in the middle of a roofless temple with dozens of columns around it, all marked with glowing symbols and blood-red lines pulsing in a magic circle circuit all the way to me.
“What are you doing telling me all this?” (me)
“What do you want?” (me)
“Don’t you understand yet?” (Nightmare)
“I’m creating sympathy and connection with you, making you understand me, making you recognize that I’m still partly connected to you.” (Nightmare)
“Is that why you separated me from the others?” (me)
“Yes, they would distract you and make it more obvious where we were, but they are fine and seeing everything that’s happening.” (Nightmare)
From his shadows emerged all the others; they were awake and well. Xerxes was even smiling, and when they appeared, something changed outside. Those who had been wandering aimlessly, searching for us, were now coming straight here.
“Sorry about this, but it was necessary to release him.” (Xerxes)
“You can leave my brothers to me.” (Nightmare)
This time he had disappeared from where he was; now he was in my shadow, slowly sinking as if melting, but I didn’t have time to think about that while Hinata flew to stand in the middle of the ritual with her Concept pulsing around her.
“Hinata!” (me)
“< Ritual of Chaos: Abominable Corruption >” (me/Hinata)
All my Heralds and Divine Beasts awakened their own Concepts. Hinata, as expected, awakened something bizarre: the Concept of Chaotic Abomination.
Using her as the center, I marked this place with a curse; a column of blood surged up to the heavens where it split into billions of hands extending and tearing through space like the branches of a horrible tree.
“They are here!” (Ohara)
Activating this ritual, I became trapped within it. Hinata herself is the very contamination, and I use her as a means for my Concept of Chaos to act. The transformation that my Chaos will generate is already underway; their place will be swallowed by Hinata, distorted and controlled by her.
With everything finished, I looked outside. Millions of creatures were fighting against the Twins, Ohara, and Xerxes.
Everything seemed too easy. Something was wrong. Nothing had ever been easy for me. This was wrong. Something was happening. I needed to find out what was wrong.
My eyes scanned all sides, searching for something before I realized that the error wasn’t in the enemies around me, but in the enemy in my shadow.
“< Shadow Punishment >” (me)
“How did you find out?” (Nightmare?)
“You said it yourself, Chaos can’t be controlled or imprisoned, yet you were still at their mercy.” (me)
The moment he was halfway there, shadow creatures emerged behind him, transforming him into a sieve with dark claws, trapping him and preventing him from even moving.
“You’re not him, where are you?” (me)
“You think I would tell you?” (Nightmare?)
“That’s what you don’t understand, there’s always a way.” (me)
“< Awakening of Chaos: Moonlight Shadow >” (me)
“NOOOOO!!!!!” (Nightmare?)
I turn around, place my hand on his head, then create a Dragon Seal core with my other hand, plunging it into his chest, and when I pull my hand away, I’m holding a crystal heart like the ones we’ve collected before.
His body distorts, consumed by shadows; claws, teeth, and scales emerge from his body before he becomes a dark Dragon whose scales gradually turn silver, his eyes previously tinged with darkness.
“Now tell me, where are the Avatars?” (me)
“They are all in my shadow, sir.” (Dragon)
“Keep it that way… Damn it!” (me)
Suddenly I notice a large hand coming towards me; I grab Hinata and pull her away.
