With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1186: Civil war

Chapter 1186: Civil war
Once they left the ruins, no one spent any time with each other.
In fact, they all looked at each other with wary looks after coming out of the ruins.
The ones from the righteous sects didn’t seem to trust each other even though they should have been allied with each other.
It was just hard for them to trust each other at this point after everything that they had experienced in the ruins. They had no idea who had been messing with them, but they were certain that someone was messing with them.
As such, they chose not to interact with anyone to make sure that it was safe.
At the same time, there were the guards that were watching.
Just like how Lin Fan had the leader of the two squads protecting him and Ye Qing Huan had Grandma Pan protecting her, the others had guards from their sects protecting them as well.
It was natural that they would have guards like this since they were all core disciples of the Five Great Sects.
Once it was all over, Ye Qing Huan had a sad look on her face as she looked at Lin Fan.
That was because once this mission was over, it was time for them to separate and she wasn’t ready for it yet.
But in the end, Ye Qing Huan had no choice when Grandma Pan came to get her.
Before leaving, Ye Qing Huan leaned in to say, “I’ll get people to take care of the ruins. We can go back there and collect things from it whenever you want once things are set up.”
Lin Fan was surprised to hear this since he had just been planning on leaving things with the ruins as they were. After all, there was no one that would be able to enter the ruins as long as he didn’t allow it.
However, since Ye Qing Huan was offering to take care of it for him…
Lin Fan just gave a simple nod in response to show that he understood.
With that, Ye Qing Huan was brought away by Grandma Pan.
Though he had to admit that she was like a hurricane, coming and going as she pleased and causing all kinds of problems for him. However, it wasn’t as if Ye Qing Huan only brought problems.
With this task finished, Lin Fan was able to return back to Dungeon City where his masters were waiting for him.
When he arrived, he found that they had already heard about what happened and they didn’t ask him anything else.
Though they had sent him on a ’mission’, Lin Fan knew that they had done this to give him benefits in what he could get from the ruins.
However, Lin Fan chose not to mention the matter of him taking over the ruins to these two masters of his.
Even though they hadn’t shown any signs that they wanted from him, Lin Fan was just being certain by not telling them anything.
“Good work.” The Fire Fist King said after hearing Lin Fan’s report.
The Poison King also nodded in agreement before saying, “We’ve already prepared a reward for you.”
“Huh?” Lin Fan was surprised to hear this since he didn’t think that he would be receiving another reward. After all, the mission itself should have already been considered a reward since it was one that had sent him to a place where he received benefits.
He didn’t expect them to give him an extra reward.
It really could be said that these two masters of his took care of him.
It reached a point where Lin Fan felt a bit awkward to take these things.
But it wasn’t as if the Fire Fist King and the Poison King would give him a chance to return these things that they gave him.
“That cultivation technique that you currently have doesn’t work. Take this one instead.”
The Poison King said as he handed a book over to Lin Fan.
When Lin Fan read the cultivation technique, he was surprised to find that it was indeed the perfect one for him.
It was a cultivation technique that was suited for his special physique.
For them to have found something like this for him…They had already checked him when they took him in as a disciple and it seemed that they had learned quite a lot about him.
This cultivation technique came right when Lin Fan had been thinking about getting a cultivation technique from the two of them.
So it really did come at just the right time…
Other than this, these two masters of his had something else that they had to tell him.
“We’re heading back to the Heavenly Demon Sect. We’ll send someone to contact you when there’s something that you need to know, but you should be fine for now. There might be something that you’ll need to do later, but they’ll give you time since you’re a new disciple.”
This was a bit too much of a surprise for Lin Fan, but it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing.
Having these two masters of his around did restrict his movement a bit.
Now that they were returning, he would be able to do the things that he had been holding back on.
Namely, there was a place that he had been avoiding since he couldn’t risk them finding out about it.
Once these two masters told him this news, they didn’t waste any time in heading out.
At the same time, Lin Fan just had to tell the two squads that he was going into closed doors cultivation so that they didn’t follow him around anymore. He left them in the hands of Yue Lan and Ming Xin to deploy them in places needed by the Mu Empire and the Love Sect.
Once he was in closed doors, Lin Fan went through the secret tunnel that led to the dungeon and used the portal that was there to return to the magic continent.
After arriving, he found that there was someone that had been waiting for him.
“Her majesty requests your presence.”
The only one that would be addressed as your majesty here was naturally Haku.
Though Lin Fan was surprised since Rokuko had never mentioned it.
“You were busy with things, so I didn’t really have the chance to mention it.” Rokuko explained in an awkward voice.
Lin Fan knew that it was her way of looking out for him and he didn’t blame her for it.
He was just curious about what was so important that Haku had posted someone here just to look for him.
“It’s a civil war.”
“Excuse me?” Lin Fan couldn’t help asking when he heard what Haku said.
“You didn’t hear wrong, I said what I said.” She answered in a defiant tone as if she didn’t care if he understood or not.
That made an awkward smile appear on Lin Fan’s face as he turned to the others that were in the room.
Agnus was the one that explained the situation to Lin Fan in the end when Haku didn’t offer an explanation.
It was as he imagined, there was a civil war that was started in the Kalos Empire by the six factions as they tried to claim the title of emperor.
It was only natural that Emperor Kalos would fall out of power after what had happened.
Once he fell out of power, it was impossible for them to keep him in the same position as before as it would be too risky. As such, they had no choice but to go for the throne now that Emperor Kalos was out of the way.
The only problem was who was supposed to take the throne?
Putting aside the issue of legitimacy, it was a matter of who had the power to take the throne.
There was a reason why there were six factions in the first place, it was all because they were powerful enough that they could rival each other. It made it so that no single faction could make a dash for the throne.
As such, there was no one that could take the throne for themselves after Emperor Kalos was dealt with.
There were many that made claims to it, but there was no one that could actually take it.
So with these claims going against each other, it eventually reached the point where civil war happened.
The six factions broke off into their own territories and completely split the Kalos Empire.
It wasn’t that the Kalos Empire broke off into six different countries since that wasn’t what they wanted. What they wanted was the complete Kalos Empire and anything less than that would be bad for them.
In the end, even if it was called a civil war, it wasn’t as if they had actually broken out in fighting.
“They’re just holding up right now and trying to find a way to settle the situation without too much damage.” Agnus summed up everything with this one sentence.
Lin Fan understood why this was an important matter.
While the Kalos Empire would certainly be weakened because of this, it wouldn’t reach the point where it would be as weak as Haku wanted if they didn’t do anything to escalate the situation.
Only if they did something to mess with the six factions now would they be able to reach the level of chaos that they wanted.
And if they waited too long and the six factions of the Kalos Empire settled it on their own, they wouldn’t even have a chance to do anything if they wanted.
“So what are you planning?” Lin Fan simply asked them since this was their territory.
