With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1205: More ways of gathering faith (1)

Chapter 1205: More ways of gathering faith (1)
In the end, Lin Fan decided to continue exploring the Mist Lands.
Just what he saw in the village alone wasn’t enough for him to act on.
He had to get more information on this Mist Lord before he could actually take action against him.
The problem was that Lin Fan didn’t really know where to go to get this information.
This Mist Land covered a large area and he had only explored a tiny part of it so far.
If it wasn’t for the mist people finding him, then he wouldn’t have been able to find the mist people village that easily. It wasn’t as if he wouldn’t have been able to find the mist people village, it just would have taken much longer for him to find it.
But now that there weren’t any mist people guiding him…
“I guess the only thing that I can do is wander around until I find something.” Lin Fan said with a sigh before he started moving through the Mist Lands.
Though as he moved, he made sure to leave behind the same trail as before so he would know how to leave this place. It would be terrible if he were to lose himself in this mist forever.
Since he had already left behind a trail, that meant that Lin Fan did have a direction that he could go in.
After walking in that direction for a bit, he suddenly noticed something that made him stop.
It wasn’t that Lin Fan knew what was in front of him, but he could tell that there was something that was hiding inside of the mist.
This was all because he had used his own mist made of his Clear Water to infiltrate the mist. Lin Fan had been experimenting the entire time with his Clear Water mist to see how much he could influence the mist around him.
With it, he found that he was actually able to suppress the mist created by the Mist Lord with this Clear Water mist.
That meant that he was able to use his Clear Water mist to see everything that was hiding in the mist around him.
With this Clear Water mist, Lin Fan could tell that there was a trap on the ground in front of him. It was laying there motionlessly that one would think that this was just some kind of trash that was left on the ground.
But Lin Fan could feel the mana fluctuations that were coming from this vine that was there.
It was faint, but he could tell that there was some kind of living thing that was attached to this vine.
That was why he started clearing out the area around him with his Clear Water mist.
Once the area was cleared, he saw the identity of the thing that the vine belonged to.
It was a large plant that seemed to be laying bait for things to come close before snatching them up in itself. He could tell that they were plants that swallowed people because of the large bulb that they possessed.
At the same time, Lin Fan could see that there were a few bulbs that were currently closed.
It seemed like they had already captured prey.
Lin Fan seemed like he was about to lose interest in this at first, but then it was as if he suddenly realized something.
It was that Lin Fan realized that these plants were different from the ones that he had encountered before.
The ones that he encountered before just used their leaves to snap up prey and melt them to their bones. But it didn’t seem like these bulbs did the same thing as he couldn’t find a single trace of bone at the stem of these bulb plants.
What did they capture prey for if they didn’t use them for nutrition?
Since he could see where the vines were, Lin Fan was able to easily avoid the trap that these plants set and could approach them.
Once he was near them, he used his spiritual sense to scan the plant to see what was inside.
The moment that his spiritual sense penetrated the bulb of the plant, Lin Fan couldn’t help slightly knitting his brows.
That was because the inside of each of these bulbs had a human in it.
It seemed like there wasn’t any other prey that these bulb plants targeted, it seemed like they only cared about trapping humans with how they only had humans in them. It was as if they didn’t want any other form of prey in them.
But there was something else that Lin Fan found strange about these plants.
It was the fact that none of the humans that were inside of the bulb plants were being dissolved or absorbed by the bulb plants.
When he used his spiritual sense to look in, he found that there was something inside of the bulb plants that was actually keeping those people alive. It seemed that the bulb plants were trying to keep them alive as long as possible, even if they weren’t awake.
“What are these things trying to do?” Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling confused when he found all of this.
In the end, Lin Fan thought about trying to do something to save the people inside to see if he could find any more information about what these bulb plants were.
To do so, Lin Fan suddenly started gathering ice around the base of the bulb plants.
He was planning on freezing these plants to slowly make them lose grip of these humans that were inside of them. That way, he could slowly bring them back out of their trance and to reality.
As he did this, the ice slowly made the bulb of the plants loosen and it seemed like the things that were connected to the humans inside the bulb were also loosening. There had been tubes that had been connected to the humans inside of the plant bulbs.
Lin Fan’s guess was that it was these tubes that had been keeping the people alive, which would have made the bulbs like some kind of cultivation tank.
But once these tubes were released from this person that he was trying to save…
“All hail the Mist Lord…” They muttered all of a sudden.
Lin Fan couldn’t help knitting his brows even more when he heard this before looking carefully at this person to see what else they would do. However, it didn’t seem like they were going to do anything else with how they just laid there inside of the bulb.
After a momentary pause, Lin Fan started freezing the bulb once more.
This made the bulb relax even more and more of the tubes that had been connected were released.
Once these tubes were released, it seemed that this person regained consciousness.
Only the moment that this person regained consciousness, it didn’t seem like they were in their right mind.
Instead of looking at the person that had saved him, this person just reached out in front of him as if he was grabbing at something. When he found that there wasn’t anything in front of him, this person suddenly raised their hands towards the sky as if he was reaching for something.
Once again, when he found that there wasn’t anything there, he fell to his knees and lowered his head while still holding his hands up like this.
As he did this, there was a fanatical look that appeared on his face as he said, “All hail the Mist Lord!”
Lin Fan immediately knitted his brows when he heard this before raising his hand to surround this person in a layer of mist. Once that mist was around him, the sound from this person disappeared without a trace.
This mist was thick enough that it was able to cut off all sounds that came from this person.
Lin Fan couldn’t help knitting his brows while looking at the orb of mist that he created, but then he went over to take a closer look at the bulb plant that he pried open.
He wasn’t able to find anything at first until he narrowed his eyes to look at the tubes that had been connected to that person that he saved. When he did, his eyes couldn’t help noticing something about the liquid coming out of the tube.
“This is a hallucinogenic liquid?” Lin Fan couldn’t help slowly repeating what his Appraisal Eyes told him.
When he slowly turned back to look at the ball of mist, he came to a conclusion.
“The Mist Lord is using these plants to trap people and gather faith for its ascension to godhood…” That was the only thing that he could think of that made sense in this case.
After he came to this conclusion, Lin Fan didn’t help the others that were also trapped in the bulb plants.
It was one thing to save one person, but to save a bunch of people…
There was no doubt that the Mist Lord would notice and everything that he had done so far would go to waste.
If he really wanted to save them, he needed to get more information about the Mist Lord so he could figure out a way to deal with them.
After all, Lin Fan didn’t even know where the Mist Lord currently was.
So after thinking about it, he released the mist free zone that he created and he headed off in a different direction.
Not long after he left, the person that he had saved was soon caught in another one of the bulb plants and they calmed down again.
