“Are you sure about this?”

“How could I not be sure when I saw it with my own two eyes?”

“It’s not just one or two people that saw it, so what is there to doubt? With all of these witnesses, there’s no doubt that there’s something special there.”

This was the rumour that had spread across the city.

It was a rumour that had suddenly appeared, but it spread like wildfire the moment that it did. After all, for the people of this city, it was a chance that they never thought that they would get.

As soon as this rumour spread, there were many people that immediately decided to test their luck.

However, there was a certain group of people that couldn’t help being taken aback.

At the same time, these people couldn’t help feeling angry that this was happening all of a sudden.

After all, this was something that would ruin what they had been doing this entire time.

“Why did these signs have to appear now out of all times?”

“With these signs drawing the flies in, it’ll be even harder for us to do what we wanted to do.”

“We had already pinpointed that thing to that location, but now there’s all those flies getting in our way.”

Though they complained, they knew that there was nothing that they could do since it was already too late for that.

The signs that the rumours were talking about were clear signs that what they were looking for was about to appear.

It would just make it harder for them to take the item that they were all here for with all these people around, but it did confirm that what they were looking for was here.

The only thing that they were worried about now were how the different groups would act. They weren’t all from the same place, so it wasn’t as if they would be able to share these things.

With how things were in the city, it didn’t take long before everyone suddenly headed for Starlight Hill.

With all of the people that came here, it was as if a small settlement had suddenly appeared at the base of this hill. All of the people that came set up base camps at the foot of the hill as they prepared to search for the things in the rumours.

Though most people didn’t head out during the day.

It was only at night that everyone suddenly left the camp and started heading up Starlight Hill.

“Do you see anything?”

“I don’t see a single thing over here, what about you?”

“Not here either.”

Everyone that went up spread out as if they were forming a net as they combed all over Starlight Hill. As they spread out all over the hill, there was only one thing that they were looking for.

This was why they had spread out and formed this net in the first place. They didn’t want to let a single thing escape their grasps.

Though it wasn’t as if everyone that formed the net was working with each other.

What was actually formed were small nets that smaller groups formed, but there were enough of these that they covered a large area. With how many smaller groups there were, the net was even big enough to cover the entirety of this Starlight Hill.

It really was a sight seeing how many people were wandering around this place, but it didn’t seem like anyone was able to find anything.

That was until…

“Over there!”

It was only one small group that moved at first, but it was hard to hide movement in a place like this. With how many sets of eyes there were, it was very easy to notice when there were gaps.

Once someone moved, there would be more and more gaps that would form that would draw in more people.

Still, the group that moved first was the first ones to follow the thing that they discovered.

What they had discovered was a deer that was completely made of this strange form of yellow energy. It seemed that this thing didn’t have a form of its own and was purely made of energy.

Since that was the case, that had to mean that there was something powerful enough that could manifest a creature of pure energy like this. Something that was this powerful would without a doubt be some kind of treasure.

It was also the reason why there was this mad scramble on this Starlight Hill in the first place.

The ones that found the energy deer followed it silently at first as they waited for it to go back to its home, which would be where the treasure that had formed this energy deer would be hiding.

It was just that it didn’t seem like this energy deer was going to do that.

The way that it wandered around, it really seemed like a real deer rather than one that was created from energy.

The ones that followed it around were the ones that were the most anxious since they had been hoping that this energy deer would return to its home so that they would be able to claim the treasure. But in the end, the energy deer didn’t do that and that gave time for the others to catch up.

At first, it seemed like people didn’t want to scare the energy deer since they wanted to follow it. However, as more and more people showed up, there were people that started to feel anxious about this.

They didn’t want to fight their way through more and more people, so they wanted this energy deer to bring them to the treasure as soon as possible.

That was why there was someone that lost their patience and drew their weapon.

After drawing their weapon, they didn’t hesitate to run at the energy deer with their weapon raised.

Seeing this, there were several others that came out at the same time as they didn’t want to give this chance to someone else. In the end, just the sound of these people appearing were enough to scare the deer into running away, which was what they all wanted.

They just wanted the deer to run in fear and run back to its home.

Though the ones that appeared after were also making sure that the one that lost patience didn’t do anything stupid.

After scaring the energy deer, it seemed like it was just running around. It seemed like it was running around randomly as if it was trying to avoid the ones that had come out and scared it.

It didn’t seem like it was running in a particular direction, it was just running around like some kind of headless chicken.

None of the people that came out to scare this energy deer really chased after it as they watched it run around like this.

It didn’t take long for this energy deer to calm down a bit as it realized that it wasn’t in as much danger as it thought previously.

Once it had calmed down enough, it realized that this was its chance to get away and it ran off in a certain direction. This time, it was clear that there was a distinct direction that the energy deer was running in.

This was what everyone that was here wanted to see.

After all, this meant that what they wanted to see was happening.

Though while it happened, everyone that was here looked at each other with wary looks. They knew that since they had come here, they were all here for one single reason.

At the same time, it meant that they were all here for the same thing.

Which was why they were technically all competitors.

“It’ll disappear soon if we don’t go.”

Once this comment was made, everyone seemed to snap out of their daze and went in the direction that the energy deer had headed off in.

Even though they were competitors, that didn’t mean anything if they weren’t able to find the thing that they had all come here to find. So before they had any thoughts of fighting each other, the first thing that they had to do was find the thing that they would fight over.

That was why everyone started moving in the direction that the energy deer had gone in.

However, they soon found that it wasn’t just a single energy deer that had appeared.

By the time that they reached their destination, they found that there were several energy deer that had gathered in this area. All of them seemed to have been formed from the same type of energy, though it didn’t seem like they were exactly the same.

It really seemed like there was a kind of deer habitat that was set up in this place.

Only when everyone saw just how many energy deer there were, their eyes couldn’t help lighting up.

The fact that all of these energy deer had manifested meant that the treasure that was here was quite powerful that it could release all of this energy. Since it was powerful, it also meant that this treasure was quite valuable as well.

This wet the greed that all of these people had.

It was only because they thought that there would be a valuable treasure here that they had come all this way.

Now that they were here, it was all about who would take this treasure.

Though there were a few that were watching from above that had other ideas.
