With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1356: But only one

Chapter 1356: But only one
This mountain was the place that the knights of this kingdom had encountered those people from the Five Great Sects previously.
It was also part of the reason why they didn’t want to come to this place when there were signs of a Garuda appearing.
In fact, they had only offered that small amount because they didn’t want anyone dealing with the Garuda.
They were hoping that the Garuda would take care of the ones from the cultivation continent.
But of course that wouldn’t happen since the ones from the cultivation continent were long gone.
Lin Fan thought that he was the only one that was able to cross continents, but then again…
Haku had been able to bring him and Rokuko here, so the Five Great Sects would certainly have something that they would be able to use as well.
They were the ones that were keeping the peace on the cultivation continent, so it was only natural that they would have a way to watch over the other continents. Or else there was nothing that they could do if they were invaded by the other continents.
Though the one thing that Lin Fan was certain of was that they wouldn’t be able to do the same thing as him. Only with the power of the system was he able to move freely across the two continents like this.
For those from the Five Great Sects, there was no doubt that they would have to pay a heavy price to move between continents. At the same time, there was no doubt that this was not something that they could do that often.
It would cost them a lot and it would have a large cooldown, or else they would have used it to cause chaos on the magic continent a long time ago.
It was just like how Haku said that she wouldn’t be able to send them back when she first brought them here.
That was why Lin Fan knew that he would only be searching for things left behind by the Five Great Sects.
As for what specifically he would be looking for, that wasn’t something that he had an idea about.
The only thing that Lin Fan could do was walk around until he found something that caught his eyes.
He didn’t even know where the battle had happened since it wasn’t as if this was something that the noble had shared. The only thing that the noble mentioned was what kind of techniques they used and how the fight had gone.
It wasn’t as if the noble would give that much information to someone not from their country.
So that was why Lin Fan actually had to wander around looking for something.
After a while, he finally came across something.
This was something that he had found with his spiritual sense.
It would have been foolish to move around with just his eyes alone, so it was only natural that Lin Fan had spread out his spiritual sense as well.
Though once he reached the item that caught his attention…
“It seems like it’s a dud, huh?” Lin Fan muttered under his breath.
That was because the item that he had found was nothing more than a fragment of a sword. This wasn’t even a sword that was from the attackers that came from the cultivation continent.
This was a fragment of a sword from the knights of this kingdom.
But there was one thing that Lin Fan did take note of as he looked at this sword fragment.
There was a trace of energy that was clinging to the sword fragment he found.
With his Appraisal Eyes, Lin Fan was able to see that it was energy that was formed from sword intent.
“This is most likely a fragment from the sword that they showed me. Only why would there be a fragment when there was a clean cut on that sword?” Lin Fan thought to himself as he looked at the fragment that was on the ground.
The other thing that his Appraisal Eyes told him was that the technique that had shattered this sword was one that was known to be from the Mount Hua Sword Sect.
A part of Lin Fan wondered how the Appraisal Eyes knew this, but that part was suppressed by the fact that these Appraisal Eyes had come from the god that gave him the system in the first place.
The power of the gods was not something that a human would be able to understand and it was certainly not weak at all.
That was how he justified that the Appraisal Eyes would have this information.
However, Lin Fan also knew that these fragments had been left on purpose.
“They must have shattered the half of the sword that was left behind deliberately to scatter these clues. So it seems like they were indeed framing the Mount Hua Sword Sect.”
Once this thought came to mind, Lin Fan lost interest in this sword fragment and moved on.
Since he had found this sword fragment, Lin Fan knew that there would be other things in this place. This sword fragment had been scattered here on purpose, so it meant that those attackers had passed through this place.
As expected, he found the next clue right away.
Though it certainly wasn’t what he had been expecting to find.
It seemed to be some kind of makeup pouch that was filled with some kind of powder that he didn’t recognize. However, he could tell that there was some kind of brush that was inside of this thing as well that would be used to apply this powder.
So it seemed to be a special kind of face powder that was used as makeup.
When he looked at it closely, his Appraisal Eyes told him that it was something that came from Mount Emei. It was a kind of special makeup that was only found around the Mount Emei area.
“Another planted clue, huh?”
Once Lin Fan realized this, he didn’t waste any time in moving further ahead.
As he continued, Lin Fan found several more items scattered around. However, he didn’t actually take any of them seriously since he was able to see through them with his Appraisal Eyes.
With his Appraisal Eyes, he knew that these things were nothing more than planted clues.
But with each planted clue that he found, he couldn’t help losing more and more hope that he would actually find something. With the way that things were going, it really seemed like he wouldn’t be able to find anything in this place.
That was until he found a certain thing.
Unlike the others, this wasn’t an item that he found.
Instead, this was something that most people wouldn’t have noticed unless they were looking for it closely. Though the reason that Lin Fan was able to see through it was all because of his Appraisal Eyes.
If it wasn’t because of that, then he wouldn’t have found this thing either.
“So they’re the ones that are doing this. They’re the only ones that didn’t have a disposable item like with the rest.”
The thing that Lin Fan had found on the ground was some kind of array.
If it wasn’t for his Appraisal Eyes, he wouldn’t have known that this was some kind of illusion array.
It seemed that this thing had been left behind to manipulate what was found and what wasn’t.
Since the array was one that used spiritual energy, it wasn’t something that was that easy to discover for those that used magic. After all, spiritual energy and mana were completely different.
“So it was the Kunlun Sect after all.”
Only the Kunlun Sect would be able to put up this kind of complicated array, but this wasn’t the only reason that Lin Fan knew that it was the Kunlun Sect.
The Appraisal Eyes also told him exactly what the array was and who came up with it.
With this, Lin Fan figured out that it was the Kunlun Sect that was making secret moves on the cultivation continent.
“Or at least it’s them making these secret moves in this kingdom. It could be possible that it is more than one sect that is making these secret moves.” Lin Fan thought to himself after thinking this through.
If he wanted to make this judgement, he had to go and see the other places that they had been spotted…
But before going there, there was something else that Lin Fan was interested in.
“Why would they choose this specific spot out of all the places that they could have attacked. It feels like there’s no reason for them to attack this place unless there was something here.”
There were far more important places that they could have attacked that would have drawn a much larger response from the magic continent.
So for them to attack a place like this, there had to be something here.
Whatever this thing was, it was most likely hiding behind the array that they had set up.
Lin Fan could easily break through the array since he was able to see through it with his Appraisal Eyes, but he didn’t expect what he would sense once he made it through.
It was faint, but it was hard for him to mistake this since it was something that he was familiar with.
Though at the same time, it felt like there was something that he wasn’t familiar with about this energy.
It felt like there was something that had changed with it.
