Chapter 1359: Finally a change

“Will this one be different?” Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking to himself as he looked at the array that was in front of him.

Since he had started going to different places to look for clues, he had already found four different arrays in four different places.

The problem was that behind each of these arrays was the same thing.

No matter where it was, it always had a pure elemental energy item behind it.

The only real difference was the one that put that array down.

What Lin Fan found was that all four righteous sects were involved.

He had gone to four different places and in those places, his Appraisal Eyes told him that each array was formed by one of the four righteous sects.

Other than that, what the four righteous sects did was drain whichever pure elemental energy item that they found of its energy. Each time, it seemed like they drained a certain amount of energy from it without actually taking it away.

It didn’t seem to make any sense at all that they wouldn’t take it away when they just drained energy away like that.

But each time, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to absorb the pure elemental energy item that he found.

Other than the Mist Orb and the True Phoenix Blossom, he found a Wind Orchid and a Lightning Root.

These were just like the pure elemental energy items that he had absorbed previously, but it didn’t seem like any of them had the same effect as the ones he absorbed previously.

Instead of being absorbed by him into his dantian, all of them seemed to be kept at an arm’s length as they all floated outside of his dantian. It was as if there was something that kept all of these items away from reaching the dantian where the black hole was.

At the same time, it meant that Lin Fan just wasn’t able to form a true connection to it.

He could use them, but he couldn’t form a real connection to them to make them stronger.

There was a strange feeling that filled Lin Fan seeing these things float outside of his dantian, but there really wasn’t anything that he could do about it in the end.

When he arrived in this place, there was one thing that Lin Fan had been worried about.

So far, the only traces of the Heavenly Demon Sect that he found were disposable items that had been tossed down by the four righteous sects to frame them. It didn’t seem like the Heavenly Demon Sect had been involved in this matter at all.

But with the current pattern of how things were going, it really seemed like it was only a matter of time before he found an array that would belong to the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Only when he did find the array, Lin Fan couldn’t help letting a sigh of relief.

“It’s the Kunlun Sect again, huh?” Lin Fan said in a relieved voice seeing what his Appraisal Eyes told him.

If it had told him that it was the Heavenly Demon Sect that was involved with this, Lin Fan might not have known what to say. But since it wasn’t the Heavenly Demon Sect, then he wouldn’t hesitate since he didn’t have to choose between the two sides.

One was the sect that he was a part of and the other was the family of Rokuko.

Even if Haku treated him the way that she did, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan actually wanted anything to happen to her.

So it was good that he didn’t have to choose between the two sides.

Once he was done thinking about this, Lin Fan broke through the array the same way that he had done before.

In fact, it was even easier since the Kunlun Sect hadn’t used a different array.

The illusion array was just like the one that he had broken through previously, which made it much easier for him.

With this, Lin Fan moved towards the sensation that was pulling him in.

This sensation was also a familiar one.

This sensation was the same as the last item that he had collected to complete his Five Elemental True Body physique.

“So it’s an earth attributed item.” Lin Fan thought to himself as he moved through this cave.

It really seemed like it was too much of a coincidence that all of the items that he found matched the exact elements that he had found previously to complete his physique. It had even all been found in the exact same order.

Lin Fan knew that this was all a coincidence, but it was still a strange feeling to have things play out like this.

Still, it wasn’t the time to think about this as he arrived at the end of this cave.

All of the caves that contained the pure elemental energy items had been the same. All of them had been a cave that had a single pool in the center filled with elemental energy and at the center of that pool was the item that he had been looking for.

But it was different this time as there wasn’t a pool of anything.

Or that’s what it would have seemed to the untrained eye.

It was different for Lin Fan since he was sensitive to pure elemental energy in the first place.

Just a single glance was enough for him to tell that the floor at the very center of the room was something that was different from the dirt that made up the rest of this cave.

Which was why when he waved his hand, there was a hole that opened up to reveal a rock that was there. Though when Lin Fan looked at it carefully, he found that this wasn’t just a rock.

It seemed to be sediment that had been gathered together to look like a rock, but it was actually broken up and wasn’t actually clumped together.

It wasn’t dense like the Great Earth Ball that he had found previously.

It was as if there was some kind of force that was scattering it apart.

Seeing this, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling that the pure elemental energy items that he found were all strange.

Every single one of them seemed to be the opposite of what he had found on the cultivation continent.

The Mist Orb released mist that was spread out, different from the Clear Water that was condensed and pure water elemental energy which made it hard.

The Hell Flames were fierce and powerful whereas the Phoenix Flames were actually gentle and nurturing as if they could heal whatever they touched instead of burning them away.

It really seemed like whatever the cultivation continent had, the magic continent had the opposite.

While Lin Fan didn’t know why things developed that way, it didn’t matter now since all he had to do was absorb this thing. He could think about why it was different and compare it later.

As for how the Kunlun Sect had taken things away from here, it seemed that the dirt under the floor was broken apart. It was as if there were parts of it that were missing compared to the other places.

So they had drained some of the dirt away while leaving it to form this ground.

“If I stepped on it, would I have been sucked in?” Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking when he saw this.

Instead of reaching down to grab the rock, Lin Fan used the powers to pull it towards him. He didn’t want to move towards that place that didn’t seem stable enough to hold his weight.

Once the rock reached him, he grabbed it without hesitation to absorb it.

Only this time…

“There’s something different about this.” There was this strange sensation that filled Lin Fan the moment that he started to absorb it.

He was able to easily tell what this strange sensation was, but he didn’t understand why he was feeling this sensation all of a sudden. This was a sensation that was coming from the other four items that he had absorbed previously.

It seemed that they were resonating with the fifth item that he was absorbing now.

“This is a familiar feeling.” That was the second thing that Lin Fan thought when he felt the sensation that came from inside of him.

It really felt like the sensation that had come from inside of him when he had completed his Five Elemental True Body previously.

But this was strange since it shouldn’t be like this.

After all, his Five Elemental True Body was already completed and it wasn’t as if it could be completed again.

Whenever he absorbed a pure elemental energy after completing his Five Elemental True Body, the sensation was completely different. It just made the black hole in his dantian stronger and helped increase his cultivation.

He had never felt anything that was quite like this before.

Still, it didn’t feel like this was a bad thing for him.

From the sensation that came from inside of him, Lin Fan could tell that this was something that was actually beneficial to him.

Even though it didn’t seem like his cultivation was increasing, it did feel like all of the powers that he used were getting stronger.

Even the black hole that was inside of his dantian was growing a bit as if it was also absorbing new power.

There was no telling how strong he would become, but he was certainly going to become stronger.

Everything was going smoothly until he found that something was off.

“What is this?”
