With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods - Chapter 1361: Bumbling around

Chapter 1361: Bumbling around
“They’re here.” Agnus said beside Lin Fan as she looked down at the screen in front of them.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything as he watched the image on the screen as well.
What was being shown was a group of people that were dressed in dark clothes that were sneaking around in the night. But even so, they were able to see these people clearly because of the screen.
Though Lin Fan could also tell that these people weren’t being that careful either.
It seemed like they were bumbling around with the way that they moved, creating all kinds of tracks behind them. It was almost as if they wanted people to find them or something, which was actually what they did want.
After all, these were the people from the cultivation continent.
They were deliberately leaving behind clues so that they would be able to frame someone else.
After Lin Fan came back to report what he had found, Haku had wasted no time at all in preparing the trap. She had even gone as far as creating a dungeon where the bait was just so they could control everything.
That was why they were able to watch these people through these screens.
It was as if the people from the cultivation continent were just dancing in the palm of their hands.
As for the bait that had been laid out, it was naturally a pure elemental energy item.
This was something that was actually quite well known and had been hidden here for a while now. This was also the reason why these people from the cultivation continent had been drawn in.
When Lin Fan looked into it, he found that all of the places where attacks happened were places that were known to contain pure elemental energy items.
It seemed that there was a basic information network that had been set up on the magic continent, but that was to be expected. It wasn’t as if they would come to a place that they didn’t know anything about and hope to hit something with their luck.
Since there was this information network, it meant that it was easier to take advantage of them and find out where they were targeting.
It was a good thing that their target was something that was in the Laver Empire.
Though the fact that they were able to come into the Laver Empire like this showed that they had either bribed those in the Laver Empire or they had some kind of special method.
Either way, it wasn’t as if Haku would leave matters be and would investigate it.
For now, they just watched over this group of cultivators as they moved closer to where the item was being kept.
But of course, they didn’t make it too easy either or else it would have seemed suspicious.
If there was one thing that the magic continent was known for, it was monsters. That was the main reason why the Adventurers Guild was able to create such a large network for themselves.
As long as there were monsters, there was a need for people to go and subdue those monsters or else they would harm the regular citizens.
If there weren’t any monsters at all, then they would have become suspicious even if they weren’t from the magic continent.
However, there was a bit of pettiness in how many monsters were sent.
Since this place had been turned into a dungeon, it meant that it was easy to control what kind of monsters came out of this place. At the same time, it was easy to control just how many and where they came from.
So that was why the cultivators suffered quite a bit as they tried making their way through this place.
Still, it wasn’t as if they were held up for too long.
They were elites from the Five Great Sects, so it wasn’t as if they would be held up for long.
From the way that they fought, Lin Fan could even tell just what kind of cultivation they had even though they tried to hide it.
There was no doubt that these were elders of the Five Great Sects.
Once they made their way through all of their monsters and they approached their target, that was when they finally became sloppy.
One could understand why they would act this way since they had been unimpeded during this entire time that they had operated on the magic continent.
Even if they had been discovered, it was all because they wanted to be discovered.
So that was why they were filled with confidence as they strode through this place on their way to the item that they were after, completely unaware that they were being watched the entire time.
Once they were there, they didn’t waste any time in building the array.
It seemed like this group didn’t even care about the item itself with how they immediately went to build the array. However, Lin Fan knew that this wasn’t the case since they had drained the energy from all those other places previously.
“Interesting. So there are arrays like this on the other continent.” Agnus muttered to herself as she watched them draw this array.
Lin Fan knew that it wasn’t as simple as her just observing them draw this array.
He knew that since this was being done in the dungeon that they controlled, it would be easy for them to see through this array and even steal it. The only problem was that they wouldn’t be able to use spiritual energy for this array and would have to use something else.
However, he also knew that this was something that would be easy to solve for someone like Haku.
But that also didn’t matter since this was her territory in the first place.
Even if he didn’t give them this idea, they would have eventually found something and would have found the array. So it was more that he was getting something out of providing this information.
When it was done, that was when they entered the cave that the item was being held in.
This cave was the same as the rest where the item was right in the center and it was surrounded by pure elemental energy.
Once they were in the cave, they didn’t waste any time in pulling out what they used to siphon the pure elemental energy.
When Lin Fan saw this, he couldn’t help being surprised.
After all, he never knew that this was something that could have been used for this.
Though from what he knew, he could figure out that this thing was without a doubt some kind of spiritual item. It had to be some kind of special item that had been designed to hold the pure elemental energy.
With this bottle shaped item, they were able to drain away the pure elemental energy that gathered there without a single problem. It didn’t seem like there was a single trace of that pure elemental energy that was leaking from that bottle shaped item.
As expected of the Kunlun Sect.
From the array that they set up, Lin Fan was able to tell that this was the Kunlun Sect since he had seen the same array previously at one of the other spots.
There was a part of him that did want to have a closer look at that bottle, but he held himself back since he knew that there was nothing to gain from it. This kind of thing should be considered child’s play for the Five Great Sects.
The Heavenly Demon Sect also used the power of the Source Metal after all, which was also pure elemental energy.
When it seemed like they were done with gathering the pure elemental energy, that was when Agnus closed the net around them. After all, that was the moment that they were the most vulnerable and the easiest to catch.
When they thought that everything was going their way and they were drunk on the joy of victory, they never would have thought that this was all a trap.
The worst part of it all was that they didn’t even realize that they had been caught.
That was because the trap itself was gas that couldn’t be seen at all.
They didn’t even realize until they lost consciousness, but it wasn’t as if they could do anything while they were unconscious.
“Alright, go and pick them up.” Agnus said to the monsters that were waiting on the side.
Since things had gone so smoothly, it almost felt like there was something that was going to go wrong. However, that wasn’t the case as these members of the Kunlun Sect were easily picked up and locked away.
They weren’t completely restrained, but they were equipped with something that would restrain their cultivation.
Seeing them being restrained like this, Lin Fan knew that Haku was capable of this from the very beginning and she didn’t use this on him.
If she had used these things on him, there really wasn’t anything that Lin Fan would have been able to do since he didn’t even know how these things worked.
Though he was also certain that she would have gotten in trouble with Rokuko for using these things, so she wouldn’t have done it.
Still, it went to show how prepared she was to fight against the cultivators.
Perhaps a bit too prepared just in case something happened?
For now, that didn’t matter.
The only thing that mattered now was getting some firsthand information from these captives.
