Chapter 1366: Starting a war?

Lin Fan wasn’t surprised that the Heavenly Demon would pick up on this.

After all, this was something that was quite obvious since they knew about pure elemental energy items in this world.

To be specific, they knew about the attributes of the Source Metal.

That was why the Heavenly Demon was certain that there would be something special about the purple lightning that Lin Fan showed him.

Since he had expected it, Lin Fan had naturally prepared what he wanted to show the Heavenly Demon. He knew what kind of thing would get the Heavenly Demon Sect interested and would allow him to get involved.

“Let’s change locations.”

The Heavenly Demon was surprised and a bit confused when he heard this, but he didn’t mind it since he knew that Lin Fan had something on his mind to suggest this.

As for the others, they were just going along to see what was going to happen.

The location that Lin Fan brought them to was one of the spiritual energy gathering arrays that he had set up.

This was one of the ones that he had prepared for the Heavenly Demon who still hadn’t done anything with them. However, the Heavenly Demon did have his reason for requesting these spiritual energy gathering arrays.

Once they were here, Lin Fan ignored the confused looks that they gave him to move in front of the array and he placed his hand down on the metal that made up the foundation of the array.

After he grabbed this metal rod, there was the same purple lightning that appeared around his hand.

This purple lightning didn’t just remain in his hand, but rather coursed into the metal rod.

The moment that it did, there seemed to be a change that came over the metal rod.

With their powerful spiritual senses, the Heavenly Demon, the Poison King, and the Fire Fist King could sense it right away. Even Ye Qing Huan who wasn’t as strong as the three of them could sense it since it wasn’t something that was hidden.

This was an overall change that came from the metal rods that made up the array.

It was as if there was something fundamental that had been changed when it came to these rods.

After carefully examining it, they could tell that the energy inside of the rods had become stronger. However, it didn’t seem like it was purely the pure metal elemental energy that was in this rod.

It felt like there was another kind of energy that was coursing through these metal rods which was strange since there shouldn’t be something like this. These were rods that were filled with pure metal elemental energy and that should have kept everything out.

After all, there was a reason why it was known as pure elemental energy.

However, it didn’t feel like there was a conflict between the two forms of energy that were coursing through this array. In fact, it even felt like there was some kind of synergy that came from these two forms of energy.

It was almost as if they supported each other, which just made both of them stronger in the end.

But even if they became stronger, there was still a problem.

“What does it do?” The Heavenly Demon suddenly asked this question that all four of them had been thinking.

Lin Fan didn’t answer as he was still focused on the metal rod that he was holding.

It was only after some time that he finally said, “I’ll show you now.”

The four of them had been prepared for something else, but Lin Fan’s demonstration was much more simple than what they had expected.

The only thing that Lin Fan did was activate the array that this metal rod was a part of.

Still, that didn’t mean that the four of them weren’t caught off guard by what happened when the array activated. After all, this was still something that they didn’t expect to happen.

“It’s five times…No, it’s still rising…How strong will it become?” The Heavenly Demon couldn’t help muttering as he looked at the array on the ground.

As for what he was talking about, it was naturally how much spiritual energy was being gathered by this array.

It was already five times more than what it would have gathered normally and it seemed like it was still rising. It seemed like this was even going to reach the point of the secret training grounds.

After all, this spiritual energy array was just a normal one and wasn’t at the same level as the one on the training grounds whether that was in terms of power and size.

But now it seemed like it was approaching the power of the array in the training grounds.

This amount of spiritual energy would even be enough for those in the Rebirth Realm to train with.

It wasn’t as if the Five Great Sects didn’t have the resources to create something like this since they had the resources that had been passed down through generations. The real power of the Five Great Sects wasn’t something to look down on.

However, Lin Fan had done something similar with just a single touch of the array.

That was why it was hard for them to believe that Lin Fan had actually done something like this.

In the end, it was impossible to deny this since there was proof right in front of them. They could feel the spiritual energy that was being released by the array and it didn’t seem like it was going to stop any time soon.

After a long silence, the Heavenly Demon finally said, “This isn’t something that can be shared that easily.”

The other three all nodded in agreement to this.

Then the Heavenly Demon looked at Lin Fan with a strange look before saying, “Since you can absorb this pure elemental energy item, then it’s possible that you can absorb the others as well. If we were to get pure elemental energy items from the other continent, I’m sure that there are other things that you could do as well.”

Once again, the other three nodded in agreement.

However, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling that there was something dangerous about what the Heavenly Demon had just said.

After all, it really sounded like the Heavenly Demon was about to lose himself in his greed.

“You’re not planning on starting a war, are you?” Lin Fan asked all of a sudden.

When the Heavenly Demon heard this, he couldn’t help revealing a wry smile before saying, “We are demonic cultivators, aren’t we?”

But Lin Fan didn’t let this bother him as he continued looking at the Heavenly Demon.

In the end, the Heavenly Demon said with a sigh, “For now, we’re not planning on doing anything. There’s a reason why we haven’t attacked them yet and there’s a reason why they haven’t attacked us. As long as there’s no reason for us to provoke them, there’s no reason for an all out war yet.”

However, there was a smile that appeared on the Heavenly Demon’s face as he said, “But the other sects have been acting up and if we confiscate the things that they’ve found…”

The implication in this was clear, though Lin Fan didn’t really mind this.

This was just a matter of messing with the righteous sects and if he were to gain a few things from it, it would just be the cherry on top. In fact, Lin Fan had already done this previously when he investigated those other places.

So in the end, it wasn’t as if there was anything wrong with what the Heavenly Demon planned to do.

Only if they did insist on a war, then Lin Fan would have to find a way to stop it.

After all, it would be hard for him to explain to Rokuko if he did start a war.

Even if Rokuko acted a certain way towards Haku, she still cared about Haku and the Laver Empire. The things that Haku had done had wormed their way into Rokuko’s heart and she did care about this ’big sister’ of hers.

Even Lin Fan didn’t really mind Haku that much, though she did still threaten him quite a bit.

His dream of having a functional mecha was still waiting for him.

“For now, let’s keep this between us.” The Heavenly Demon proposed.

This was something that all of them agreed on since it was dangerous to let more people know about this. This was a matter that could incite greed inside of people and make things more difficult.

So the less people that knew, the better.

Lin Fan also knew that even if the Heavenly Demon and his masters were thinking clearly enough to not start a war, there was no telling what the other elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect would do.

He had already seen their greed when it came to the spiritual energy gathering arrays.

If they were to know about this, it was likely that they would make some moves to try and provoke a war between the two continents.

Lin Fan wasn’t going to let that happen.
